TPA Cotton Candy vs TPA Cotton Candy (Circus)?
submitted over 8 years ago by theryanfight

What's the difference? My best guess is that circus would be sweeter?

Is it worth picking up the Cotton Candy (Circus), or are they too similar to bother?

TPA cotton candy is simply ethyl maltol. Circus has some other flavoring in it, not sure what. Some use EM as a sweetener in recipes.

Yeah I use EM in some of my recipes as a sweetener and to help meld some profiles together and highlight certain notes.

I just wasn't sure what difference the circus version had compared to regular EM. Thanks for your insight!

The circus I believe has a blue raspberry taste with cotton candy . Kinda like caps blue Raz cotton candy but I think cap I superior. I make a delicious trix yogurt recipe (cotton candy version) . Let me know what you think , I think the cap is better and the tfa is a little week

Really? I don't taste any blue razz in it at all... IMO it's more of a condensed milk type of flavor, especially above 1%. But it gets pretty rancid at about like 3% for me.

Circus has a bit of a blue raspberry flavor to it. Definitely different than regular cotton candy but I like both.

As others have stated Cotton Candy is just 10% EM.

Cotton Candy Circus contains:

PG 76%-82%

Ethyl Vanillin 9%-15%

EM <5%

Benzyl Benzoate <2%

Cyclotene 1%-10%

Piperonal <2%

Benzyl Alcohol <1%

So it appears they are quite a bit different.
