Flavor percentage for Juul pods?
submitted over 8 years ago by rushfighterx

Hey all, I've been trying to refill my pods with my own 50mg juice but every time I do, I can't taste any flavor at all. I've tried all the way from 5% to 20% flavoring, is there a sweet spot or something that I'm missing? I'm using a 70PG and 30VG blend. Thanks!

I have something like a Juul (the name escapes me ATM). I noticed my normal recipes in the device are almost devoid of any density and flavor. Obviously this is due to the small vapor output, but it's also the completely restricted airflow that's critical with complex recipes. I've noticed single flavor PROFILES, linear recipes, tight recipes work best. Strawberry, banana, tobacco, mint. Recipes that have only one layer and get straight to the point without any nuance. Also, higher PG (50/50 works good for me) helps. A touch of sweetener also helps. Though at the end of the day the vape is quite unsatisfying compared to what I'm used to so I find it's not worth the trouble trying to craft recipes for.

Do you know how much flavoring percentage you are putting in your recipes?

Dude, the Juul really hits different from other ciggalikes. I would really recommend giving one a shot, especially with the refillable cartridges.

Wish a company would manufacture pre-coiled, pre-wicked empty cartridges.

It's not hard to refill them. You'll jack up the top your knuckles getting the top off, but I can refill one in under a minute now.

I can get them open with my finger nails with no effort, within just a few seconds.

What flavors are you using? Are you sure your nic is good? Need more info.

My nic is fine, I'm using it in all my juices that I use for sub-ohm and it tastes perfectly fine. The flavors I'm using range from capella desserts to fruity and same from TFA flavorings as well.

Like everything else, it really depends on the flavoring you are using. Try switching up to a 50/50 blend, and use about 1.5-2x the normal amount you would. Stick with flavorings that are generally very potent, and simple recipes. You're not going to get nuanced recipes out of a Juul.

The first thing I noticed with the Juul, which I just got, is how bland the flavors are compared to what I'm used to. It's fine for out and about.

You're probably right.. I feel like I could get away with a simplified Pistachio RY4 recipe, or something like that. Maybe recipes with like 2-3 flavors...
