Guys, I want to start off with a massive thank you for everyone that contributed to this sub or answered questions. It's a fantastic resource for anyone that is trying to get started DIYing juice.
Goals: 6 usable 30ml bottles of juice. Take notes. Learn something.
Update one: Man, there are a ton of bottles on my table. This seems pretty overwhelming. How in the world does anyone do this and keep track of everything? Gloves? Check. Time to shake some nicotine.
Update two: Screw using syringes. Even with the largest blunt tip needles, it's practically impossible to have the liquid draw up into the syringe at all. Future note, using the 2 ml droppers for nicotine every time.
Update three: Forgot to plug the scale in. I couldn't figure out why it kept cutting off after about 30 seconds. I'd get it all set up, draw some nic into a pipette, turn to the scale and poof no numbers on the screen.
Update four: Measured out nic into 6 30ml bottles that I'll use when I settle on percentages for flavorings. Capped them up, capped up the nic, and put it in the fridge. No accidents or spills on my watch.
Update five: WAY too much Koolada! It's sooo cold that it burns. Keeping this at a respectable level from now on.
Update six: Have two completed bottles of juice. Some Pear and Koolada for my girlfriend, and a bottle of Best Damn Pink Lemonade. Followed the recipe on Pink Lemonade, mixed a little peach and koolada in a small bottle/batch until I had the ratio close and made a big bottle for her.
Update seven: Two attempts at cloning my ADV ready to steep. The throat hit is a bit rough and the Key Lime is a touch too prominent. Going to let these sit for a few days while I vape something else. Strawberry watermelon bottles are pretty close to spot on, I'll have to make notes of my thoughts as I vape through both of those next week.
Update eight: This pink lemonade is fire. Nothing like literally tasting the fruits of your labor. Most refreshing part of the night. I will never buy premium ever again unless it's to try something for inspiration. Forget paying 10 times what it cost to make it.
Closing thoughts: It took a longer time than expected. Will have to make sure I can block off an hour or so to do this every week or two. Measuring by weight made this process fairly painless, outside of plugging in the scale and tossing the syringes. Will definitely need to learn the flavors better before I start stacking creme, bakery, cereal, etc. into the mix. No spills, very little mess to clean up. Anyone that's willing to take the time can do this. Time to fill a tank full of Pink Lemonade and chief down while I clean my table off.
Congrats, you will learn many little tricks that will cut down the time. I can make my weekly juice in just a couple minutes now.
If I can shave any time at all off each week, I'd be in good shape. Now that I know the process, it'll probably speed up quite a bit.
Still yet to make a dessert vape that's truly fantastic even from the best recipes out there but I think my palate just isn't suited to them - posts like this remind me that the journey is long but well worth it, keep it up!
Yeah. I'm probably in the same boat. I don't eat, or really care for, a lot of sweets outside of fruit or fruit flavored stuff like jello. My girlfriend loves sweets and to vape them. I'll probably start working with cereals or cream flavors the next time I order. I'm trying to experiment and learn the fruits first so that I have some information to reference when I start adding in new variables.
It's is alot faster if you make a base nic juice. I make a 250ml bottle of 3nic at 90vg/10pg. Then when making flavors to vape, I add the flavor to a new bottle and top off with my base. I can make several bottles in under 5 minutes when I do not need to make a base.
Do you find that you can tell/feel the difference in the nicotine levels based on how much flavoring you use?
Just wanted to +1 on making base ahead of time. I make about 1000ml of 70/30 3mg base in an old PG bottle and just make it again when the bottle is empty. The VG/PG ratio and nicotine will vary slightly depending on the flavors added later, but not enough to notice. In fact at this point when making the actual juice both my boyfriend and I just fill our 120ml bottles with pre-mixed base by eyeballing the level, leaving room for the flavorings. At that quantity a couple ml more or less of the base makes no difference. Have fun, you got this!
Hope you like the Best Damn Pink Lemonade!
The mixing process definitely gets easier, very fast. These days, I can mix up one of my recipes that I have memorized in about 3-4 minutes with proper organization and proper tools.
