I recently switched to mixing by weight (fuck me why'd I wait so long) and had trouble finding cheap twist tops for capella, bull city, ecx and other 4oz bottles. I found some on midwestbottles.com and they're PERFECT. Air tight seal, great flow control, and cheap! Shipping was a bit rough but it was still way cheaper than anywhere else I found since I needed about 40 tops. Here's what they look like. If there's any interest in seeing them in action I'll make a quick vid and upload. They're 13¢ a pop and shipping was around $8. I paid $13.95 total. If you need just a few then it's cheaper to get them from whatever vendor you're ordering flavorings from but for bigger quantities this was the best deal I found. Here's the item description "24-410 Red Twist Open Ribbed Dispensing Bottle Cap with .125 Orifice & HS Liner 40% OFF".
Edit: these aren't leaky like most juice bottles that use twist tops. While they do indeed leave a little bit of liquid on the very tippy top, they don't leave a big mess all dripping down the side. To give you a better idea of how precise the flow control is...I can literally hold a 4oz bottles upside down and it takes about 5-10 seconds for a tiny droplet to form. It doesn't flow until you squeeze it and letting go mid squeeze stops the flow instantly.
splort 0.22g yay... splort 0.24g yay splort 0.26g yay... splort 1.26g oh well
Luckily I haven't had that happen with these.... Yet. I'm sure I'll get comfortable and try going too fast then wind up having to make a 120ml instead of a 15ml
I dislike them when dripping and refilling tanks. If you mix 100ml bottles or even larger quantities they might work well enough I guess.
As long as you are happy, everything is ok. :)
I still use pipettes for my 4oz bottles, or just transfer to a smaller 30ml bottle to work with, these look like they could be super helpful, but I don't really see myself ordering them as I have methods to work around it, but once I run out of pipettes I may be inclined to order. Thanks for the tip!
Do these leak very much? Ive got some twist tops that allow juice to sit in the top plastic piece and will slowly drip out
Edit: Read that so fast I was confused. You don't need them you was helping us out if we need them. Haha. Silly me.
Would love some help getting started in mixing by weight! I've been wanting to try it since it's much faster and the most accurate method to mixing. I just don't want to invest a big amount of money in equipment, which scale would be cheap and the best? Where do I start? Thanks.
If you're in the states then I'd suggest the American weigh lb501. It's like $26 on Amazon, prime eligible. It's been awesome so far
Great find! I love little things that make the process easier or more efficient in the way that I do it. Thanks bud!
