What order is best to mix your e juice
submitted over 8 years ago by VonHelson

Hi Guys

Been mixing for about a month now. I've had some successes and some serious failures. Im currently mixing my VG then PG first then add my nic to 6mg then i'll add my flavours. Im mixing normally 70/30 VG PG.

I was wondering if there was a preffered order to how you mix. I read online that because PG carries the flavour better its best to mix PG then add flavour and let it sit for 30 minutes before mixing VG and nic, shaking and steeping. Was curious what you guys thing and how you do it??

Thanks All

I do nic first just so if that gets messed up, the whole thing isn't ruined. Forget where i learned that trick but it saved me a few times when making really small (<10mg) batches. Then flavor, PG, then VG.

I take this just a small step further: once all of the runny stuff is in the bottle, give it a darned good thrashing. Then add the thick goop and shake as normal. Blends days faster in some cases without the penalties of "speed steeping" methods.

Yep. Can confirm this is the way to do it.

So add Nic and the flavors, put top and cap back on shake like crazy, then reopen and add VG?

Zackly. But if you're adding PG as well, put the PG in before the first shake.

Word.

PG based ingredients, shake, VG based flavors (if applicable), shake, VG, shaaaaaake.

Seconding this. There really isn't an exact order to follow, but I always add nic first because if I add too much I can easily take it out without wasting anything else.

100% this way. Anything else is madness. I have been mixing this way for 3 years now.

I do it in this same order except I mix in 120ml bottles about 6 at a time.

In this order

  1. Nic
  2. PG
  3. flavors
  4. fill to top of bottle with VG(I mix in a 120ml bottle)

I recently started doing this when mixing up 10 ml mixes and single notes. I have a big bottle of /30 VGPG then once i put the flavors and nic in just top the blend into the 10ml bottle squeeze the 10ml a couple of times and it will fill up. so much easier

If shaking: mix flavors first, nic then pg, that's all PG liquid right there typically so I give those a good pre-shake to mix them and then finally add the VG at the end and give it all a good shake. VG is more dense and will always have the property of going to the bottom

I was always told to do flavor, pg/vg, then nic. Something about keeping the risk of nic poisoning low by using it last and capping off as soon as you're done.

This is how I do it as well. I'd rather make all my flavor bases, mix my pg/vg levels, then nic everything at the same time.

The order you mix really shouldn't have any effect on the final product. I'd only suggest doing the nic first because of you mess that up you haven't lost any other ingredients.

I'm a relative newbie myself but I have been adding my NIC then flavorings then pg and finally VG. It's worked out fairly well so far however I have not been really experimenting but just mixing recipes found here and on Alltheflavors. Wayne Walker's new pistachio ry4 has come out amazing as well as a recipe called gentleman's custard which is an ry4 custard mix I forgot the creator but it is delish. Other recipes I have been mixing Sugar cookies and cream, Mustard Milk and God's milk. These have all been super tasty and my only regret was not DiY'ing earlier

To be honest, it is alot easier to make a base nic juice. I make a 250ml bottle of 3nic at 90vg/10pg. Then when making flavors to vape, I add the flavor to a new bottle and top off with my base. I can make several bottles in under 5 minutes when I do not need to make a base.

Edit: literacy

Nic, flavors, than vg My thinking is that when i pump the vg in quickly it's kinda mixes everything. You still need to mix it up but this is a way to speed it up.

i do flavors, nic, pg/vg. this way if i fuck up on a flavor i can just toss it without having to toss nic also. i add my nic with a syringe so i'm never off by more than one or two-hundredths of a gram

I do it exactly opposite to what you do, I feel like doing the most difficult thing to least difficult is just the simplest. I also mix max vg 90% of the time

I line up my flavours in the order of my recipe list, add them then drop in the storage box. Then I add whatever I grab first out of VG, PG or Nic.

I do flavors, Nic, PG then VG. But there's no reason why I do it that way.

Flavors, little shake, nic, pg, little shake, vg.

I always do nic, flavors,pg, VG last. Just my routine, add nic first so if I add too much it can be removed
