Need a scale (Scandinavia)

Hello there,

I've done a bit of diy, using syringes and I really like the idea of making my own huge as well as it is quite a lot cheaper.

Here's the kicker though, where the hell can I find a decent scale that doesn't turn off in a minute or less, that is good quality and doesn't break bank.

The recommended weight from "American weight" would cost me quite a bit to import here but might be what I have to end up doing.

Any idea?

I personally use this one, works like a charm, certainly inferior to the LB501, but being from Europe I had similar problem as you. It's 14 bucks and worldwide shipping (takes like 2 weeks, just order the other SKU that's in stock if you want to get it before Chinese new year kicks in.)

I have the same one and it's still going strong after one year of strenious use.
You can turn off the shut-off timer, and might I also suggest that you pick up a 500 g calibration weight as well.

Edit: Come to think of it, I bought my weight from the UK here and the auto shut off is set to 3 minutes according to it's description.

I think ill order it from fasttech if i order that one, The shipping on 500gr weights from the UK is often a tad bit expensive :P But thanks for the idea of which weight to get!

Nice, that one looks pretty sweet. Do you know if the American Weight scales turn off after a while? I lost the manual to it so I don't know if you can alter the settings to not turn off. The charging port actually broke as well, so I can only use it in battery mode now and it definitely turns off after a while (i'm assuming to save battery power if you leave it on).

You can't over-ride the auto-shutoff on that FastTech model (the I-2000) - read the comments in the Discussions.

But you can with the virtually identical Envy-500 from Cream Supplies and the Corlfe model (and a few others) from Amazon.

I bought the LB501 on ebay, with ebay handling the shipping and customs part. It took about a week. You need a different power adapter but apart from that it's great.

It only cost me 30€ including shipping, which is much less than any comparable scale costs in Europe afaik.

Whelp. I just looked at the item I bought. They increased the price to 45€ + 15€ for shipping and customs to Germany, sorry. It's still a decent deals because that scale is quite good.

Yeah, I am getting more and more tempted to get one, it's just a price point thing, I am debating on getting rid of my regulated mod and getting a Tesla invader 3,so the price difference there would cover it

A lot of folks including myself use this one. Stays on till you turn it off yourself. Less than 30 on amazon

You need it to measure to 0.01 g though. That's why you shouldn't buy the 1000

According to Amazon, the LB-1000 has a resolution of 0.1g not 0.01g.

Oh ok, I always thought the only one that did was the 500g version, on Amazon in the states that's how it is from what I've found the other 2 models only measure to 0.1, not 0.01.

The LB 501 model would be the better option for anyone mixing 120 ml or under. The extra hundredths of a gram is pretty crucial for many of the more concentrated flavors.

501 goes down to the 0.01g. I mix 500mL bottles

It is worth it in the US, i am in scandinavia, which adds just about 20 dollars in import + 15-20 dollars in shipping
