Can we get the monthly post stickied again?
submitted over 8 years ago by WickAndWireMixologist

It's been two weeks since we've seen any movement on the best of 2016. We have a winner, we've had loads of bitching and complaining, can we get the monthly thread restickied?

Recipe of the Year post needs to stay where it is. People can still vote, people can still nominate, people can still try the recipes on there if they haven't already, give 'em a little steep, and make up or change their minds. We don't have a winner. There are new comments on that thread daily and the most recent nomination was just four days ago.

The monthly thread isn't that hard to find and has had three new recipes added to it today. I wish reddit would let us have more than two stickied posts so it could be even easier, but they don't. The only thing we could do is swap the weekly new mixer's thread for the monthly recipe thread as our second sticky post. And I don't think that's a very good idea, but if you do, we can talk about it.

I agree... Removing that opens the dam to shit posts. Touche, touche

Exactly. I'm not the sharpest peanut in the turd, so I was wondering for a week why there suddenly seemed to be so many more than usual "halp plz" posts, until someone pointed it out that maybe the monthly recipe thread was fine in the top and sidebars and didn't need to be stickied as badly as the New Mixer's Questions thread does.

Read the thread.

Edit: just realized upvotes were hidden, therefore we cant detect a winner yet. Bah humbug.

You can vote for best of 2016 until the end of the month though

Yes, it's based on upvotes but the upvotes are hidden until it's over.

It's linked in the ribbon at the top of the home page. It's also (as of 1 minute ago) in the sidebar and Wiki. It's been getting 2-5 posts a day so it's not impossible to find. We are limited to 2 stickies and so we don't have much flexibility.

I second this I have one of the top rated recipes for this month and I have got no movement in two weeks. As a first time poster this has excited me beyond words by going toe to toe with some of the bigger names. I get DOWNVOTE d to hell but I'm still up there. Please re sticky asap or im calling foul.

I don't think it has to do with promoting other mixers over others, etc. It's just shit we've looked at for 12 months, where all this new and flashy is getting buried in the depths of shit posts.

Can I touch your upvote?

Calm down, brochacho. Each sub is only allowed two stickied posts at a time. As of right now, those two threads stickied are the best recipe of 2016 and the weekly new mixers thread.

I do apologize. I did fly off the handle just excited about my recipie. Even though it's a clone attempt it's a god damned good one. Give it a try

You're number 2 behind Coop34 who has had the top recipe of the month I don't even know how many times. That's awesome. Sometimes you can go two weeks without getting any upvotes on those, though. People are stingy as hell with their imaginary internet points sometimes.
