Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of January 13, 2017
submitted over 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

My flavor stash

I'd love some suggestions for a banana cream recipe. I've already tried a well-reviewed Strawberry Banana Custard recipe on ELR (E-Liquid Recipes) by Ken O'Where. My GF liked it, but would like to try a new banana cream/custard, and I'm fairly new to mixing and not very creative.

Side note; I love ELR, but I wish there was a way to search within the "What can I make?" feature. Like be able to search specific juice profiles. Or maybe there is a way, and I'm missing it?

There's a great recipe on alltheflavours called "banana milk". One of my favourites. Add a bit of eggnog and the flavour hits you right in the mouth hole

  • TFA Vanilla Swirl 1.5%
  • FA Meringue 0.5%
  • TFA Cheesecake (Graham Crust) 4%
  • TFA Sweet Cream 0.75%
  • TFA Sweetener 1%

No problem. Let me know what you think after the 2 day mark.

We can try fine tuning it and possibly get you an idea on how to make simple recipes yourself.

Well ATF has the option to search "what can I make with my flavors". I'm not too familiar with banana flavors yet so idk about that.

FA watermelon
Tutti Frutti

Nothing wrong with not steeping, especially simple fruity blends. How did that Watermelon-Mint taste?

Are those TFA Blueberry Wild, CAP Cappuccino, and FA Tutti Fruitti?

Oh ya, the mint-watermelon was ok, but I think I put too much mint(i didnt actually syringe or weigh the flavors, dripped them assuming three drips/ml because I only had one syringe and I used it for the nic)

also I realized now I was going for a more of a icy mint, but the mint I baught was more of a minty mint

Here's my list: http://pastebin.com/ueaLxzU0 I've made Rhodonite, Nana clone, some Strawberry creams/milks, HV Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and some random mixes. I'll be purchasing some flavors for the right recipes for tomorrow also.

Have you made God Milk? Also, looking at your flavor stash and I would highly recommend getting Cap Sugar Cookie and Cap Vanilla Custard. This will allow you take make a bunch of other recipes with the flavorings you already have.

Yes, I have made God Milk, I'd say 500mL or more of it. I should actually make a couple more 500mL bottles. I'm getting Cap Vanilla Custard (v1) in a group buy, but it seems like if I buy a big bottle of that now, it wouldn't hurt. I do remember seeing the Cap Sugar Cookie in a lot of the recipes I could almost make. I'll pick up 130mL each of those two today.

I feel like I should know the answer to this, but what's HV Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup?

Have you made Mother of Dragons' Milk?

Try this, all TFA: 0.75% Blackberry, 2% Kentucky Bourbon, 2% Toasted Marshmallow, 2% Vanilla Swirl.

Are there any of those flavors on your list that you really enjoy and want to use more of, or a flavor that you want to use but haven't quite found a use for yet?

Definitely agree with /u/hyperlite310 about the CAP Sugar Cookie and CAP Vanilla Custard V1. Some other flavors that might help round out your collection include: CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl, FA Joy, FLV Rich Cinnamon, TFA Marshmallow, & FA Kiwi, if any of those sound good to you.

Mother Of Dragons Milk is the first recipe I plan to mix up. Flavors are on the way.

I hope you enjoy it! Be sure to let it steep, it needs a week for that Vanilla Swirl to come out. It's a little different... which was idea. I started with the name, wanted to make something worthy of it, and decided that using very common ingredients in an uncommon way was how I wanted to approach it. Even if it turns out that it's not for you, though, you'll get plenty of mileage out of those flavors.

Happy Mixing!

HV is Hurricane Vapors, they were selling their recipe book. Flavor base for that one is all TFA: 14 parts Peanut Butter, 2 parts Double Chocolate, 1 part Sweetener. I mixed it at 13%, but haven't tasted it yet. Oh, I did put together a Suckerpunch clone, the more complicated one, I liked that. I'd say I really like FA White Peach. But I think I liked the Cap Yellow Peach even more, a recipe I ad-libbed including the Cap Yellow Peach seemed to have a fizzy feel in the mouth, it was great. I like the fizzy feel. So I guess the flavors I'd like to use:

  • CAP Yellow Peach
  • FA White Peach
  • INW Grape
  • FA White Champagne (I like the fizzy feel and would like to more of this, although I'd like to get some Cactus in since I heard this can make it feel dry.)
  • FA Bilberry

I'll put together:

  • 125mL: all TFA: 0.75% Blackberry, 2% Kentucky Bourbon, 2% Toasted Marshmallow, 2% Vanilla Swirl
  • 250mL Mother of Dragons' Milk (I'd make more, but I don't have enough TFA Dragonfruit)
  • 500mL Pebbles (http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/549068/Pebbles) (I'll order the flavors I need for this today and mix it when they come in)

Don't make quite so much of that Blackberry Bourbon at once! You might not like it.

Try this: 1.5% TFA Bavarian Cream, FA 0.5% Meringue, 1.5% CAP Yellow Peach, 3% FA White Peach, 1% TFA VBIC.

This: 3.5% INW Grape, 5.5% TFA Peanut Butter, 2% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, 4% TFA VBIC, 1% FA Cookie, 1.5% FA Fresh Cream, 1% FA Meringue.

AND This: 2.5% INW Grape, 2% FA Champagne, 0.75% FA Fuji, 0.5% FA Bilberry, 0.5% Kentucky Bourbon.

Try FW Fruity Flakes 4%, FW Hazelnut 0.5%, TFA Marshmallow 2%, VW French Vanilla 1.5%, TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 3%, TFA Vanilla Swirl 2%, TFA Bavarian Cream 1%, FA Meringue 1%. Definitely not the same, but based on this recipe.

By the way, The VW French vanilla has been extremely overpowering in the recipes I've tried even at lower percentages. Like the triple vanilla custard you suggested me the other week with the VW French Vanilla, I was expecting mostly cap Vanilla custard flavor but it was more of a back note. I've been cutting the percentages of that in half.

Wow, thank you for the info. I thought VW French Vanilla was just rebottled FW French Vanilla but apparently not. If it's that strong I'd suggest even cutting it out of the above recommendation and instead bumping up the VBIC to 3.5% and the Vanilla Swirl to 2.5%.
