Looking for that Mango taste sensation
submitted over 8 years ago by MattyMc89

Has anyone tried to make a juice which tastes purely of mango? I was thinking of mixing mangos from different suppliers and seeing what happens. Ive tried other mango recipes but i want something that is a mango taste sensation.

Most recipes (in general not just mango) i follow i find are weak in flavour so i tend to add a couple % on so if you guys have any suggestions please let me know if you have added %s on.

Thanks in advance.

1.4% MF mango with 0.5% Reb A (120mg/ml) is the best straight up mango I ever tasted, it's my wife's ADV.

I get most of my flavors [here] (http://www.medicineflower.com/flavorextracts.html) and the best Reb A I could find [here] (https://www.luckyvitamin.com/p-630098-nunaturals-nustevia-reb99-1-oz).

This bottle of Reb A will last 3 lifetimes.

Is reb a a sweetner? Im guessing that, since it has stevia on the bottle. If so, how does it compare to other sweetners?

Once you try it, you will never go back to the coil and wick gunking ones. A wee little bit goes a long way, a bottle would last me forever, but my wife loves it in her coffee.

Do you mix it with a carrier liquid at around 10%?

I got all the ingredients for this but I still feel like it's missing something, it needs a little more nectar taste. Still though, the components of mango that are there are amazing! Also, it's a bit weak for me at that strength so I bumped it up a bit.

I am glad you tried it; I steep MF for at least two months and find it best at 5 to 6 months.

Of course I do not use PG.

Super Concentrates (SC) Mango from BCV or VapingZone, 2.5%, but don't make more than you will vape in 24 to 36 hours because the flavor fades out rapidly. For mango with staying power, FLV Mango 4 to 6%.

Edit: To answer your question, Has anyone tried to make a juice which tastes purely of mango? Yes.

I'll tell ya a secret if you keep it between us.... Mango+Nectarine=Mango. For my palate, anyhow. I agree with using the Reb-a, although I personally use "Pyure". MF Nectarine at 2-3% of a 10:1 dilution is really the only way I tried, as I don't much care for fruity vapes, and this was with someone else's concentrates.

Maybe they will become as frustrated with it as I did and totally give up...

Although I do have some MF that I haven't messed with yet. I may try /u/I_Try_To_DIY's suggestion, replacing the reb A with sucralose

Would you say the SC Mango is better than the FLV Mango? I have FLV Mango in the house. Also would you thing that adding CAP Mango would improve it in any way?

I could say that SC Mango is better than FLV for 12 to 36 hours after you mix it. If you used more than 2.5% you could maybe change that time to 24 to 48 or something like that. You're looking at a short time for it to settle into your base or it will be a little harsh, and then a short time for you to vape it because that flavor fade is no joke. Because it loses so much flavor so quickly, it's probably not worth buying unless FLV 6% just does not satisfy you.

I don't think adding CAP Sweet Mango would improve the flavor of FLV if it were just the two of them, to my taste, though it can be a big help when mixing FLV with other flavors. FLV does taste a bit more like a mango juice or canned fruit in syrup (in plastic though, it doesn't have that tinny flavor of canned food in metal) than the fleshy, pungent, perfectly ripe, freshly peeled fruit. But it's delicious. If you're going for the most authentic mango possible, I'd mix up 4% FLV Mango, 1.75% CAP Sweet Mango, 1.5% TFA Mango, 1% FA Mango. That's meatier and more earthy than FLV standalone.

Just made up the multiple mango mix with some added sweetener. Gonna give it an hour on my 5watt heat matt and a 24 hour steep and see what will be tickling my tastebuds tomorrow. Thanks for the advice ID10-T!!!!

I have inawera mango and its really really good but it's got kind of a little of an unripe pulpy mango taste and it doesn't quite get all the way to something I would want to vape by itself because of that, and also because bringing it above a few % becomes too floral / scented. I have enjoyed a small amount of it in other tropical fruit blends though quite a bit.

That said, I think Inawera mango mixed with a sweet juicy mango might be pretty awesome full bodied mango vape. Not sure which would be the best to mix with it since I haven't tried any other mango's. I vaped naked 100 mango for a year there so I'm kind of interested in getting a great alll mango or mango dominant vape as well.

Naked 100 Mango is just amazing! I found these Naked 100 Recipes whilst searching for a decent mango. I have made the Green Blast and is currently having a 5 day/week steep. I don't have the ProbBlend to make the mango unfortunately.

Green Blast

(TFA) Honeydew-9% This honeydew has an extremely subtle flavor so using it as a base required more than I would have liked usually. At this % it will make your mixes sweet as well.

(TFA)Green Apple-4.5% After trying many apples. I needed a tart apple that didnt add sweetness. This one reminds me of an apple that was picked too early.

(TFA)Kiwi Double-3% Searching far and wide, most kiwis either tasted like candy or were complete dirt. This one paired well with the green apple. It is semisweet but doesnt add enough to overpower the mix.

(TFA)Sweet Cream-2% Tried 8 different creams and came to the conclusion that sweet cream was the winner here. It is milky and complements the mix well vs the original brand.

Amazing Mango

(ProBlend)Mango-8% This is an extremely earthy or basically like gym socks. This is needed as a base to bring out all of the non sweet mango elements

(FA)Mango-4% An almost sickenly sweet mango that helps to sweeten up the mango flavors and bring out the ripe taste you would expect in a mango.

(TFA)Juicy Peach-4% This semi sweet peach's notes help to blend the mango and round out the tartness of the mangos without adding sweetness that we will get with our creams.

(TFA)Sweet Cream-4% This is my go to sweet cream. It has subtle sour note that pairs well with a sweeter cream to bring a full bodied profile to a cream

(TFA)Vanilla Swirl-4% This flavoring finished the mix and brought what sweetness needed to be added without sacrificing a full bodied creaminess.

I have tried many mango recipes. The best so far by far for me is this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/4qrd3p/july_2016_recipe_thread/d5202ri

The recipe looks pretty good!!! I found that CAP mango on its own had zero flavour and I mixed up to 25% and still had nothing. I'm gonna order the INW Cactus and FA Fuji Apple and see what its like. Just wish i could get close to Naked 100's Amazing Mango but so far I'm no where near.

Oh, that is easy. Here is their recipe I believe. It is good, but I prefer Mango Crack. http://vapingunderground.com/threads/nakeds-mango-and-lava-waka-flava.266568/

Oh jeez! What's the lowest percentage you've tried?

by MattyMc89over 8 years ago

I started at 2% and went up in increments of 2% until I hit 20%. At that point i still couldn't taste anything so thought 'fuck it' and jumped to 25%. Still no flavour.....

Cappella Mango seems very decent and strong to me, where TFA Mango to be very poor...

Something that worked out really well for me when I was looking for a decent mango recipe was a suggestion I saw reoccurring a few times in the Mango (I) FOTW thread: TFA orange cream. The recipe I used was a modified version of one posted by /u/fritobandito32 (no name, but you can find it here if you wish to reference).

As mentioned in that thread by a few contributors: orange cream really makes the mango flavor feel thicker and compliments it in a way that surpassed my expectations. The recipe I ended up with for a smoothie-type profile that's oozing with mango is:

*(CAP) Sweet Mango: 5%
*(FA) Mango: 0.50%
*(FA) Peach: 2%
*(TFA) Pineapple: 2%
*(TFA) Orange Cream: 1%
