Trading Post at r/mixersclub
submitted over 8 years ago by thattswhatshesaid

Hey guys,
So I try to come back here and periodically update when r/mixersclub has some new feature, or update, that could potentially benefit the larger community. Today I come to you with the trading post. Users can now browse through what other members are willing to trade and negotiate exchanges of concentrates and other mixing supplies. I have put a few requirements in to assure secure trades, and the club can now act as a secure middle man so you can rest easy even with someone who is new to the post. Full details are in the link provided. This is not without strings attached, you must participate in at least one exchange and be a verified member before using our post. Members must also be in good standing on their membership requirements, such as critiques. Any trades orchestrated not through the club are obviously not our responsibility, and I urge you to take the time to follow the framework we are setting up. I believe this has great potential to save mixers time and money and I hope to see some crossover between the subs.
Mods, let me know if this is not the appropriate spot for this kind of post. I have posted about club updates in the past and we have been doing secure and successful exchanges since September so I figured we are in the clear but I am happy to take this down at your discretion.
Thanks!

Canada yes indeed! Just saw you guys are doing cocktails. Yum. I'll be a lurking. If I come up with anything before the 20th I'll be sure to post. I have a some cognac and some brandy I've been meaning to get acquainted with :)

Yes sir! Warming beverages for January, I'm always excited to see what folks whip up. For sure, I don't think the shipping would be too bad depending on what province you're in. PO is in Boston.

This is an awesome idea! I'll take a look at my flavors soon and see what I can come up with!

Awesome :) yeah, I've accumulated quite a few 4 ounces I'm happy to trade. I think this will be especially helpful for new mixers.

Is the idea to trade a portion of the 4 oz or the whole thing?

I had portions in mind, but whatever is a fair trade to those involved :)

Allowed, of course, but in the future please ask first and then post. The "easier to ask for forgiveness than get permission" technique doesn't go over well here and more importantly, I'd hate to see you waste your valuable time typing up a post only to have it yanked or being too spammy or whatever. However, you have permission in advance to announce the winner of the Mixer's Club contest here as soon as the results are tallied, along with the details of this year's contest(s).

For sure- anything related to r/mixersclub and I'll ask in the future. But, we aren't a business and from everything I understand about the rules here we're okay so I wasn't sure if it would be redundant to also ask. Thank you for the green light on the contest results! The winning recipe should be highlighted. Courtesy first though- thanks u/ID10-T!
