To kick things off: long time lurker and new poster. I read the sidebar (multiple times..before and after joining) and did multiple searches within Reddit and a few engines...but couldn't find any additional info. Apologies if this has been covered; just means my google-fu and boolean are faulty.
To the point: So during a recent order to Wizard Labs I couldn't help but notice their promotions for "The Flavor Wizard" concentrates. I decided to bite and ordered "Prism", "Cactus Juice", and "Berry Cereal". I tried doing some research and can't find much about this line (The Flavor Wizard) outside of Wizard Labs own site. I'm just assuming these are probably their in-house custom mixes given the relevance of names and isolation of reference. Does anybody happen to have some info they could impart to this curious mixer?
The ingredients listed don't appear to have any hostile components (ie: lipids and other truly-bad compounds). Hopefully if I have time I can make some reviews even though my palette is nowhere near as refined as others (I assume). I made 3 batches of each at 5%/10%/15%. WL listed recommendations are between 15%-20% but I don't enjoy flavors that high (that I am aware of). They are alright, but nothing ground-breaking when compared to many of the awesome recipes from this community
Yes , wizard labs use to have a really nice vape brick and mortar called the vaping grounds. They had house lines and a few of there flavorings were preaty damn good . I actually contacted them about a year ago inquiring about the possibility of purchasing the recipie for there berry cereal ejuice. They said that they were planning to make flavor offerings (one shot) of the juice. The berry one actually is a little different than the ejuice that I remember ,it is still good though. I've tried the berry and the key lime and both were good, you could also use them for a base and add to them.
Check out the Flavor Review wiki and then post your own reviews of these, please! Flavor reviews from someone who lacks confidence in their palate is better than no flavor reviews at all.
Just mixed up the Berry Cereal and Strawberry Lemonade, at 15% each. Berry Cereal is very sweet, heavy on the berries. Strawberry lemonade is decent. Both are very average in my opinion, so I will steep and maybe add some other flavors after that. I also have to mix up the other three flavors, cactus juice, prism, and key lime pie. Will report my findings.
The berry cereal was indeed very sweet, but it's still one of the more acceptable flavors I've come across...haven't spent the time/effort to take on the cereal category yet. I'm currently waiting on some test batches at different %s to steep and use all the notes to try to add to the flavor wiki.
The cactus juice was interesting in a "I think like this" way. Wasn't quite as captivating as Grack Juice but still tasty. Make sure to try to Prism at the suggested % and also at half your initial %. I don't know if I'm just sensitive to ethyl alcohol or if the mix just needed to settle but the first few rounds of Prism at 15% as a SnV were pretty rough. A guess premature of developed notes: I think I'm going to like it most (standalone) around 7% with about a 6-10day steep. For relativity though, my total flavoring in mixes rarely goes above 13%-14%.
Hi, sorry I know this is a two month old post. I did a search on TFW flavor concentrates and this is one of very few that came up. I have some concerns, and I'm hoping someone can help me.
I bought the same sampler pack in question, and I've only tried one so far. I made the Prism, because it was the one that smelled the strongest and best.
After about a week of steeping, I tried it with a fresh brand new coil. It was fantastic, and then- an awful chemical aftertaste. I mixed it with 3% nic, and 100% VG. I used the concentrate at 20%.
I wrote an email to Wizard Labs, but got no response. I know they're based just above Orlando not far from where I live so I've considered going there to ask them in person, but I thought I'd check here first.
Does anyone have any advice, or a similar experience? I want to try the other flavors, but I don't want to have the same experience over and over again if the flavors are just bad.
Thank you!
I've been meaning to do a flavor review...but things have been extremely hectic since the start of the new year.
I got the same thing when trying it. First few puffs are okay but an unknown after-taste becomes very forward and present. It's almost like the chalkiness that you get with high % of FA Blenderize/TuttiFrutti but different (lack of good diction atm that can describe it). I originally attributed it to the alcohol content because I was getting a similar, but still distinctly different, taste from their Cactus Juice and Berry Cereal.
For Prism specifically: I tried it at the recommended (either 15% or 20%) and also tried samples lower (7% and 14% I believe). The same taste is there but in proportional amounts (ie: lower flavor had lower funkiness). I also tried them in various pg/vg combos from 50/50 to max VG and didn't make a notable difference either.
Unfortunately, I think this is just the flavor, our tastes, or a combination of the two. The same thing happened when I was trying tutti-frutti (both FA and TFA). Everyone raved how good it was but it had an "off" element to it that deterred me from using it solo/main-profile.
Edit: I almost forgot that these samples were tested in different setups ranging from a flavor-chasing single coil Derringer at low watts to a subohm dual-coil Moonshot at various watts from 35-80. Setup didn't have an influence on pushing that weird element to the back
