Agnostic Milk (Strawberries and Cream Recipe, you can hate me now)
submitted over 8 years ago by HashSlingingSlashur

This is a strawberry milk for those of us who aren’t sure whether there is a god (and for those of us who don't like TPA strawberry). I set out to recreate some of my favorite S&C recipes: Moo Fields by Blue Dot and Strawberry Milk from Captivape. I was dead set on never sharing this because I am selfish and self conscious about my creations. I think that you guys deserve this recipe. Let it steep for two weeks and then come back and complain to me about how bad it is. I know people have wanted some more simple recipes but this one is 8 ingredients long and it’s fucking heavenly.

As a shake and vape this is very buttery and the strawberry is super in your face. After a couple of days its actually where it gets rough and it tastes like butter coated strawberries with cream, this needs 1-2 weeks for everything to calm down. After a nice steep, the buttery notes really settle into the background and the VBIC+Bavarian cream start to make beautiful music together. I found myself never able to let this steep until I discovered Vurve’s Birthday Ice Cream Cake, which I can vape all day while this stuff steeps.

This is my favorite recipe and this is one of the reasons I got into DIY. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.

Development Notes:

Nailing the strawberry: So there’s a shitfuck amount of strawberry concentrates out there, and I knew that for sure I wanted to use TPA Strawberry Ripe and FA strawberry. Strawberry ripe provides some floral notes and sweetness and ‘ripe’-ness (and EM). FA strawberry is great (maybe my favorite standalone) and brings with it a jammy, sweet strawberry that just needs a little help.

The sweet strawberry I decided to use is CAP sweet strawberry. At 2% it works perfectly with the other two strawberries to create the perfect strawberry that dances around with both real and completely artificial notes. ( I made a V2 of this recipe that uses Jungle Flavors strawberry Sweet at 1% instead of CAP’s version, V2 is still in development but also worth a try)

My first attempt used TPA Strawberry instead of FA. In short, it just did not blend as well. Also, INW Shisha Strawberry was considered but it too does not play nicely with everything else here.

Like with most fruits, there is no one best strawberry and they all need some help, so these guys are an essential part of a team here and cannot be subbed (except for CAP and JF sweet strawberry for each other)

Bavarian Cream and TPA VBIC: Two of my absolute favorites cream ingredients. VBIC is the perfect base for our berries and Bavarian cream is just right here at 2%. These two creams need to steep but when they do the result is decadent and buttery vanilla cream.

Meringue because meringue.

FW hazelnut is the bridge on which the butter, cream and berries intersect.

CAP Sugar Cookie provides more EM and a great compliment to the buttery notes, this is also much more noticeable when S&V and then falls into the background after it steeps.

Here’s the recipe, Peace Out and Happy New Year!

% Vendor Flavor

2 (TPA) Bavarian Cream

1 (FW) Hazelnut

0.6 (FA) Meringue

1 (FA) Red Touch (strawberry)

2 (TPA) Strawberry (ripe)

0.75 (CAP) Sugar Cookie

2 (CAP) Sweet Strawberry [or 1% JF strawberry sweet]

4 (TPA) Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

edit:format

Edit: There are many strawberries and creams that use many of the same ingredients but this is mine and it represents a culmination of all the other S+C recipes I have found and all I have learned about DiY ejuice. I took the best of the best and created imo the new best.

Buddhist Milk

The feel-good S & C of this time and age.

Lots of people say they're right into it, but most of them have no idea what actually goes into it.

3% buddha statue

2% prayer flags

Good attempt, but Moo Fields is diketone-free free and a number of ingredients there are not. Would lose the Bavarian cream, use marshmallow for body and sweetness. Also meringue works better as a sugary milk vs a heavy cream. Still looks delicious though!

Woah thanks for commenting. Moo fields is fantastic and really helped keep me off the ciggys !! I recommend blue dot to anyone who asks me for good vendors, you guys rule.

Still trying to do my own version of CTC because that shit is amazing. 10/10 with or without rice.

I still have no idea how you guys did a golden grahams but it's so spot on after a month steep.

I could go on and on, you guys have flavors for days! Thanks for everything seriously!

who wants a cigarette when you could be vaping in a strawberry patch with a bunch of cows???

Oh my lord! This recipe is crazy good! I am the kind of person that seems to only be able to taste strawberry every other week or so, but this seems to really bring everything forward into a beautiful medley of flavors.

You are right that there is a buttery note when first mixed, which I enjoy a lot. I am waiting for the rest of my bottle to steep fully before I have more.

Excellent recipe, keep up the good work!

Nice! Makes me wonder what else I can throw a splish splash of Sugar Cookie in to give some recipes a delicious flavor >:) Of course I am missing one or two ingredients. That damn Hazelnut FW flavor is scary to me. Would subbing in Almond pervert the flavor too much?

I saw sugar cookie used with strawberry a couple of times and it really works here, sweetens up the mix and adds subtle complexity that really shines after a good steep.

This gots me thinking about mixing some CaP Sweet Straw+Ripe Straw with some VBIC and some sugar cookie :) Or do you think it will be too sweet? I would be willing to try it now, but I have been banned from mixing at work.

by HashSlingingSlashurover 8 years ago

I think that would be tasty. Start with 3% of each strawberry, 6% ice cream and maybe 1% sugar cookie. Tweak it from there

Whys it scary? Diketones? If you're scared of that I wouldn't use VBIC nor Bavarian cream ... Hazelnut and Bav Cream both have acetoin <.5%

FW Hazelnut is a pretty awesome flavor and one that I have in a 4oz size because it's quite versatile just like CAP sugar cookie.

Almond would affect it quite differently because this hazelnut is creamy while the almond is sweet and doesn't add to the mouthfeel of the final product.

What's scary about FW Hazelnut, I'm curious now? It's a great flavor

I am really not worried about Diketones or Acetoin since the juices that I do use with it are used in low %. I remember working for an ejuice company during the middle of when so many "popcorn lung" articles kept popping last year or so, causing customers to freak out about the diacetyl and crap, while it seems like a definite concern, I feel like it was more fear mongering than anything....One of their flavors was Hazelnut and I remember being quite disappointed with the ejuice as it tasted like I was eating a collection of nut skin (lol) found at the bottom of the bag. They said the flavoring they used for their Hazelnut flavoring was from FlavorWest. I may just have to bite the bullet and try it again at different % to see if maybe their mix was just wrong...

1% FW Hazelnut is perfect as an additive

4% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream? I can already tell this is going to be a polarising recipe

by HashSlingingSlashurover 8 years ago

Do you get a pepper note from the VBIC ? Or is it because I'm lazy and let the VBIC do most of the heavy lifting here

1 points

by thedirtyprojectorover 8 years agoMixologist

Yes I do.

by HashSlingingSlashurover 8 years ago

Try some CAP there. I've never used it but people say it's quite sub-able

1 points

by HashSlingingSlashurover 8 years ago

Might be enough going on to mask the pepper but I know nothing about this pepper aroma

Love seeing others using FW Hazelnut in their strawberry cream recipes. That shit adds the best back note to the cream, and does something absolutely heavenly to the strawberries. Looks good, gonna have to mix this one up.
