So, I tend to procrastinate quite a bit and somehow allowed myself to run out of VG for an entire month. During the first few days I thought I was totally screwed, but I decided I would experiment with how 100% PG juice worked for me. This is just my experience with it, and many of you may disagree. That's okay though :)
It's important to note that I have 0 experience with sensitivity. I believe it happens but I have no concept of PG irritating my throat or mouth or anything, so this obviously won't apply to everyone.
When I first started my 100% PG journey (using a Mermaid Plus tank @ 50 watts) I remember noting how stealthy the vape was, for obvious reasons. I could vape pretty much anywhere without being obnoxious. I could rip a good hit in a bathroom and the vapor would dissipate within 5 seconds. It wasn't super cloudy (obviously) and the throat hit was satisfying as hell. My coils weren't gunning up as fast, and while it may just be because of the Mermaid Plus (easily my favorite tank), I experienced no issues with leaking or gurgling hits.
One of the things I noticed most though was that while I wasn't getting a "good vape," I was getting the satisfaction I missed from real cigarettes. I wasn't coughing from the sheer volume of vapor that so many smokers cough from when first trying out a vape. I didn't look like I was vapid, rather enjoying a quick smoke. Everything about it screamed "this is the best way for smokers to quit" the entire month I used it.
I'm rambling a bit and losing my train of thought because I'm on mobile, but I was interested in your guys' thoughts. It's important to remember that not all smokers want huge voluminous clouds, and just something to low-key puff on. They smoke cigs, not factory steam towers. I just know that a lot of us who try to convert people aren't just trying to get them into not smoking, but get them into what's become the norm for vaping.
So what do you guys think? I know a lot are extremely against high levels of PG but in terms of helping new vapers, I think it's an uncommon but potentially effective method!
I always taste a couple mls of each new bottle of base when I get it, to verify the quality.
That first time I did this was when I realized pg harshness is way overstated. All I ever mix is 40pg, never woulda thought to do 100. Are you also having to lower total flavoring? Just curious....
I've mixed 60-70pg mixes before and while they do offer a more vivid flavor (opposed to even 50/50), you do run through the juice much quicker. How fast are you going through your bottle of 100pg?
I bet it is, it's always weird when a non-vaper wants to try an RDA with staggered staple alien claptons or something. Always like, "Uh... you might want to be careful with that."
I think all liquid was made using PG before people starting adding VG to it, so that makes sense too because it was really only targeted toward smokers, now juice is more targeted toward vapers
Yeah I don't let non vapers hit mine for the hell of it. Can't count the times people are fucktards, ripped my .1 coils and felt like they are going to burst after intense warning of me, just to spout off about "how vaping has to be so fuckin bad because analogs don't make them cough as much"
Well duh you idiots, it's an advanced setup and I told you, and by the way, you don't cough cause your loung is fucked already, have nonsmokers smoke a cigarette and they will cough up black pieces of death and tar
Sure, I started out MTL 24 mg/ml all PG. That was fine for a few months, while gradually reducing the nic, but I started getting blisters in my mouth and throat so I had to start adding VG to my ADVs. I still do 100% PG in the iCare and AIO, but if I vaped on them all day I'd probably get blisters again in the long run.

This is why I don't mix very much high VG any more. 2 hits with 70/30 or higher it just seemed like the house was instantly clouded out. I mix everything 50/50 almost except a few recipes.
That's really going to depend on your setup. You probably aren't going to want to vape 100% PG in an RDA, RTA, or sub Ohm tank.
I was using a sub-ohm, had zero issues with it!
You get popping / crackling sounds when vaping on subohm? Anytime i mix over 50% PG I seem to get a loud pop when i first hit mod after its been sitting with a clieto 120.
Very un-nerving; I dialed back to 80/20 or 75/25 ratios on my mixes. I did like the larger flavour it brought though.
I do 50/50 VG-PG blends ereday all day no exceptions unless I'm mixing for someone else. Never tried pure PG. Will take some rips on my NarDA tonight of 100% and see how she goes. Doubt I'll switch either way but interesting to note. Good post OP!
Hey T_Mace ! I was wondering if you are using your Narda with your tobacco juices ? I do have 4 narda clone dedicated for flavor testing and just got a hadaly clone a couple days ago (which i prefear, it gets less hot on the drip tip). But i think i remember you saying going mtl so i'd like to know if you change anything besides nic concentration when you go DL instead of MTL ?
Hey buddy! Yes I do use my NardDA for both MTL and DTL. MTL 6mg, DTL 3mg. You can close down the airflow on the NarDA to get a very tight draw. I build 24 gauge or 26 gauge coils with 2.4mm or 3mm ID. I try to ohm out at about 0.8 which works for me for both MTL and DTL. MTL, I vape around 20 watts, I used to go lower, like 12 watts but lately been enjoying a little warmer vape. The NarDA does get hot even at 20 watts but I use a drip tip with delrin at the top so the heat doesn't really bother me.
Aside from nic, I don't change anything for MTL vs DTL. I've heard of people increasing flavoring % for MTL but all the tanks I use have great flavor. I'm always under 10% in a mix and get tons of flavor. Kayfun Mini V3, Digiflavor Siren GTA MTL (loving this tank!), Rose 3 which I never use and Taifun GTIII which I also never use but probably should give another chance lol. I also have a Magister and a Zephyr which are both vertical coil build deck but I haven't gotten around to trying them with the SS mesh I ordered. They look cool as fuck tho.
I've been eyeing the Hadaly. Does it work for MTL? I noticed it has a total of 4 airflow holes so I'm thinking maybe it'll be too airy but still curious. Might get it for DTL anyway.
You bought a special drip tip for your Narda or are you talking about the one included with it. I tried another drip tip but the flavor changed so much that I stopped.
To be honest in received my hadaly a couple days ago and still haven't played with it long enough. I can say that building on it is easier with the clamps. I wanted to get it this morning to test it as closed and tight as possible to answer you, but guess what, that little guy is hiding somewhere in my flat. As soon as I can get my hand on it I'll be able to let you know.
Ps: i haven't forgot about inw virginia it's just I'm a lazy dude x) but I'll try it this week end and let you know ;-)
The only reson to not use 100% PG is because it will dry the fuck out of you. It will suck all your body fluid and keeps you bone dry.
I feel a dry mouth vaping 50/50...
I think I'm going to try out 100% PG for the heck of it. When I first started I immediately switch to full VG due to vaping seeming harsh to me (minus the pg the flavors are stored in) but I feel like I might actually be developing a sensitivity to VG... which I know is less common...but I figured it was worth trying to see what happens.
