Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of December 30, 2016
submitted over 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

  • Vanilla Cupcake (Cap)

  • Vienna Cream (FA)

So I've mixed the following flavor profiles so far:

  • a Creamsicle
  • an Orange-Lemon blend
  • a Pineapple Cheesecake
  • a Banana Cream
  • a Lemon Cheesecake
  • a Strawberry Milk
  • an Apple Pie
  • a Cinnamon Apple Danish
  • a Tiramisu (Really could use a new recipe for this, Tried HIC's "Smooth Tiramisu" and was turned off by harshness of Tiramisu, I was really looking for a TBD "Caramel Tiramisu" type flavor)
  • a Cosmic Fog Milk & Honey Clone
  • a Lemon Cookie

For the most part I'm looking for new flavor profiles that I can add to my list of base recipes which I plan on tweaking in the future. I'm just looking for anything with a fairly different flavor profile than anything I've tried so far because I'm fairly satisfied with my attempts with the flavor profiles I've mixed. I've attempted to find other different flavor profiles I could mix but I found that many recipes called for different vendor's versions of flavors I have and I wasn't entirely sure on substituting. So any suggestions would be appreciated and tested! Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick response!

http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/49230/Peanut%20Butter%20Custard

The vanilla custard in this is one that I constantly see and was wondering if some combination of one of the vanilla flavors and the custard flavor would work.

http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/224872/Strawberry%20Shortcake%20Bar

The sugar cookie in this is another one I'm seeing constantly that I don't have and was wondering about substituting it.

And lastly, I was wondering if you could suggest a tiramisu or maybe even a tiramisu cheesecake recipe.

Peanut Butter Custard: FA Custard is a great ingredient but it it has a lemony note to it that seems like it would clash hard with the PB. A better sub in that recipe or any that call for CAP Vanilla Custard would be your CAP Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Also, be sure to click the link at the bottom of that recipe that says, "Please check out V2 as this recipe is outdated for today's high powered devices." However, I highly recommend getting that CAP Vanilla Custard.

That strawberry shortcake bar recipe is awesome. I worked really hard to create a version that's almost as good but doesn't use that coil-gunking FW Yellow Cake. Replacing the CAP Sugar Cookie would be much harder. That flavor is one of a kind and it is one of the best. There's a reason CAP Sugar Cookie and CAP Vanilla Custard are in everything. The closest you could get with what you have would probably be something like 0.25% FA Cookie + 0.25% INW Biscuit + 0.25% FW Yellow Cake + 0.25% CAP Marshmallow for every 1% CAP Sugar Cookie.

Tiramisu? Try: 0.75% FA Booster, 1% FA Vienna Cream, 2% Cream Fresh, 2% FA Meringue, 0.75% INW Biscuit. I know that's very close to the HIC recipe you found to be harsh, but sometimes all it takes is moving some %'s around.

Tiramisu Cheesecake? Try: 0.75% FA Booster, 5% CAP NY Cheesecake, 1% CAP Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 1.5% TFA Graham Cracker Clear, 1% FA Vienna Cream, 1% FA Meringue.

I'm not gonna post my flavors since I have pretty much everything that should be needed for this request... I'm just looking for everyone's favorite and best Peaches & Cream recipes. I'm just in the mood for P&C recipes at the moment and would love to see everyone's best and favorites.

I was actually checking that one out the day before posting this request. Looks like quit the recipe; not your generic Peach & Cream. Missing a flavor or two, but i'm going to try the main gist of it with some substitutions (until i can order the missing flavors).

10% tfa juicy peach, 5% tfa sweet cream, 10 drops sweetener per 30ml. Shake and vape. It's one of my all time favorites for the past year and a half or so.

by PalefaceVaperover 8 years ago

nice and simple. I know high percentages of Juicy Peach give some people a big throat hit, but maybe the Sweet Cream mellows it out a bit. I haven't tried Juicy Peach at that high of a percentage before, but i'll give it a go.

thanks everyone.

Favorite so far (still a WIP): 3% TFA Bavarian Cream, 1.75% INW Peach, 1% TFA Peach Juicy, 4.5% TFA VBIC. Although, the one /u/LimeDrive linked to is probably better. I haven't tried it yet.

If you like FA White Peach, this one is probably better than my WIP as well, but I'm just not a huge fan of that flavor.

FYI, the red velvet needs a very long steep time. It's very alcoholic as a shake and vape.

2 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years ago

/u/Elek93, the comment see above. By "very long" I'm guessing he means about 3 weeks. I'd bet it's worth the wait. The good news is, you can try those PB recipes above as a shake & vape, though they might taste better to you given a little time.

Thank you, Vurve. This is a something I've never tried but felt comfortable enough suggesting it to him because it came from you; I've had it on my to-mix list for what seems like forever and just haven't gotten around to it.

1 points

by PalefaceVaperover 8 years ago

do you ever take the cap off of a juice after a day or two of steeping to get rid of alcohol from flavors that contain it? Or just a long steep time will do it?

Lately i've been mixing my juice, letting it steep for a week, then putting the nicotine in and letting it steep another week or two depending on the mix. So if I did leave the cap off for an hour after a couple days of steeping, i wouldn't be effecting any nic oxidation.

I don't have many flavors with alcohol, but started reading the bottles more and noticed i do have some (which is why i'm asking the question above).... plus now i'm wondering if repackaged flavors have alcohol in them but don't list it on the bottle due to the repackaging company not noting it on the label.

Guess i need to search all of flavors on the main flavor sites and take notes

by ID10-Tover 8 years ago

I'm no help with the Chewberry or Bourbon and Coke. (What brand is that "bourbon one?"), but try 4% TFA Peach Juicy + 4% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 3% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust + 2% Toasted Marshmallow. I would try a very small batch of TFA Peach Juicy at 3% by itself first. A number of people are really sensitive to one of the ingredients in that flavor. I wouldn't want you waste your Cheesecake Graham Crust, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, and Toasted Marshmallow on a juice that's going to be super-harsh to you.

Hey gang. I just added FW Butterscotch (natural) and TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust to my flavor bank

Around Christmas I had some delicious cheesecake and lemon meringue pie (the real foods) and I would like to maybe combine them. FW Cheesecake wasn't really my thing. I'm thinking:

TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust
FW Butterscotch natural (just a tad)
FA Lemon Sicily

and possibly:
CAP Vanilla Custard V1 (so damn good)
FA Meringue (I'm not too worried about trying to emulate a real meringue topping, lol)
TFA Marshmallow?

edit: TFA Bavarian Cream might work in my recipe too :P

Thanks! Any tips or ideas on using my two new flavors are appreciated.

My personal opinion is that lemon is a difficult ingredient. Worth it for sure, but it always takes some work to get it right, especially when working with bakery stuff. Be prepared to do a lot of different experiments finding the right lemon and the right %.

Check here for some help using your new Cheesecake Graham Crust, though.

There are also some recipes that you might want to take a look at. I can't actually vouch for them but they look pretty good and you might get some inspiration from them:

FW Butterscotch seems out of place. I would try this:

TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust - 1.5%

INW Biscuit - 0.5%

Capella Vanilla Custard - 3.5%

FA Meringue - 1%

I'm not entirely sure what VW Bavarian Cream is (probably FW) but you could try subbing it for TFA Bavarian Cream in this recipe.

These are mostly speculation, things I think would be good that are similar to things I've tried, but adjusted to fit the ingredients you have:

A triple vanilla custard: 6% CAP Vanilla Custard, 3% TFA Vanilla Swirl, 2.5% VW French Vanilla.

Fruit juice: 3% TFA Apple, 3% TFA Pear, 1.5% Strawberry Ripe, 1% FA Kiwi.

Strawberry Custard: 6% CAP Vanilla Custard, 6% TFA Strawberry Ripe, 3% CAP Sweet Strawberry, 2% VW French Vanilla, 0.75% TFA Sweet Raspberry

Strawberry Vanilla Cream: 6% TFA Strawberry Ripe, 3% CAP Sweet Strawberry, 3% TFA Vanilla Swirl, 2% VW French Vanilla, 2% VW Bavarian Cream, 0.75% TFA Orange Cream

Kiwi-Strawberry: 4% CAP Sweet Strawberry, 3% FA Kiwi, 2% TFA Vanilla Swirl.

by nwpulverizerover 8 years ago

Wow that's an awesome list of recipes I think I'm gonna try them all. Thanks for trying to incorporate the VW stuff too. I have a feeling I will end up not using it a ton just because I'm not sure how it'll translate with other recipes but I'll experiment(:

Would you say the fruit juice and strawberry kiwi and good shake n vapes?

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years ago

Like I said, they're speculation. But I don't think any of them will seem worse than mediocre to you, and you might even love one or more of them or be inspired to create something you love after tweaking them a little. The fruit juice should be totally shake and vapable. The strawberry kiwi should be pretty good fresh, but even better if you give the vanilla swirl a week to come out of its shell and really blossom. Same for the Mother of Dragons' Milk with the VW Bavarian substitution. I would definitely give the Strawberry Custard a week and the Strawberry Vanilla Cream 10 to 14 days. The Triple Vanilla Custard should actually be decent after just an overnight steep, however, you'll probably find it keeps getting better over the course of two weeks if you want to try sampling it at different times and observing changes.

Also, I just went back and re-read your review of VW the cerealizer. I don't know what that stuff is but it sounds like something that would be a nice addition at 2% to the Triple Vanilla Custard and maybe at 1% to the strawberry custard recipe as well if you want to give that a try.

im really just guessing bc i have only ever used those 2 independent of each other.

in my limited experience though they should both be good as shake n vape.

the only problem i can see is kiwi and pear could share too many chemicals and if that happens, your mix can taste.... off

So I bought these mainly for two juices from the "My First Order" thread, want some juice that I can shake and vape and don't have to steep.

I made some God Milk and am waiting for it to steep.

Here are the flavors, all from TFA

Bavarian Cream

Dragonfruit

Raspberry Sweet

Strawberry

Strawberry (ripe)

Graham Cracker crust

Thanks

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years ago

You could just do single flavors for quick shake and vape and that'll give you a solid foundation for understanding flavors in addition to something to vape while you wait for God Milk to do its thing:

  • 8% Strawberry Ripe

  • 8% Strawberry

  • 5% Dragonfruit

  • 3% Raspberry Sweet

Or some simple mixes:

Shake and vape strawberry: 6% Strawberry Ripe, 3% Strawberry, 0.5% Dragonfruit.

Shake and vape red berries: 7% Strawberry Ripe, 2% Raspberry Sweet, 0.5% Dragonfruit.

Shake and vape dragonberry: 5% TFA Dragonfruit, 3% Strawberry Ripe, 1.5% Strawberry.

I wouldn't recommend shaking and vaping Bav Cream or Cheesecake Graham Crust, they need some time to develop.

So the 8,8,5,3 are seperate juices? Cool!

Thanks I'll definitely give them a try, I know I didn't have a ton of flavors to use.

Thanks again!

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years ago

Yeah, man, separate juices. They won't be as complex and yummy as the mixes but they'll give you a good idea of what these flavors taste like on their own and at those %s they should actually taste pretty good, especially the strawberries. Plus bonus points for being so easy to mix up.
