Straggler from ECR here, I am not a DIY'er, but interested in possibly dipping my toe in the waters in the future.
I am wondering if there is a specific ingrediant that adds the "mouth feel" to candy vapes that give them that powdered sugar / dust in your mouth type of feel that you get with, say a Sweet Tart vape. I guess what I am asking, is if there is a specific ingredient that would takes a hard candy flavor and gives it more of a pixie stick feel in your mouth?
I hope I explained my question in a way that is understandable, if there is a better way to describe that "feel" with an actual term, hopefully someone will correct me!
Usually down to rounding out the flavour profile. E.g: You have a candy strawberry, and it smells amazing! You love it! But it doesn't have the cloying sweetness you really want. Well, you can try adding another strawberry concentrate. If that's a no-go and has ruined your flavour you can try a heavy dollop of Sucralose to replicate it but it can quickly ruin a recipe, too.
TL:DR Add sucralose.
It's going to depend on the recipe of course but it sounds like what you're referring to--as far as sweet tart anyway--is Malic Acid (or TFA Sour). There are other ingredients that can be used to mimic powdered sugar that might be worth looking in to, such as FA Meringue, FA Torrone, sweeteners, etc... A lot of flavors are inherently dry which may also help give it some of that gritty texture you're looking for.
