Since Recipe of The Year is fast approaching, here's my entry into the running, God Milk.
submitted over 8 years ago by skiddlzninjaThat one moderator. You know, the honey guy.

###Sup haters. Been a while. I got some new(ish) hotness for you. The recipe of the year voting is coming up, and I want to throw my cards down because, let's be honest, I want to rub it in /u/chrisdvr1's face if I win.

But first, an explanation. SKIP THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW/CARE WHO I AM.

##I've been gone for a while now. It started with my surgery in October, but it was planned for some time before that. My scheduled break was the reason I pushed for some new moderators around here, because I didn't want /u/kirkt to do everything while I was gone. That being said, I've still been here, just as more of a lurker than an active member, and more of a backseat approach to moderating. The reason being is something that I've been passionate about, and part of for over a year. Those that know me know that I'm very active at DIYorDIE. Co-hosting podcasts, writing articles and reviews, managing social media, organizing community events, etc. I even proclaimed myself the Vice-President(no one tell Wayne ;)) I scheduled my break because I knew I would be getting more involved with DIYorDIE, and I didn't want that to become a conflict of interest moderating here, and I didn't want either one to influence my work with the other. I've become more of a mentor/auditor for the new moderators than an active moderator. This is the end of my monologue.

Now that's out of the way, let's get to the good shit.

###GOD MILK

This recipe is, without a doubt, my most popular, best-received, and highest rated recipe. A strawberry cream with a tropical twist, made with all TFA flavors, with a relatively short steep time for strawberry creams, and all whole percentages in the recipe. I wanted this recipe to accessible to everyone; American or international, beginner or advanced, patient or impatient. This isn't a new recipe. It's been out for about 4 or 5 months, but I haven't posted it to any forums. I just let my followers on AllTheFlavors.com know, and let word of mouth do the rest.

  • The Strawberry Base-d God

The classic, the go-to, the reliable, TFA Strawberry and TFA Strawberry Ripe. If you don't know this combination yet, check a calendar, because it's 2016. The candy-like TFA Strawberry and the bright, green TFA Strawberry Ripe work so well to make a super-sweet, clean strawberry flavor. 4/4% gives a nice strong strawberry, while allowing other flavors to play their parts.

  • The Cream Bed(of Clouds.)

This one I worked on for a while. I used a ton of different custard flavors, a few ice creams, and one or two flavored creams before I realized I was in the wrong vein. I didn't want a full-bodied, heavy cream that overpowers the other flavors. I wanted something smooth, but sharp; gentle, but firm; I wanted something light and airy, residing with Zeus in Olympus. I wanted a cheesecake base. Wanting something light, I went with TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, then used TFA Bavarian Cream to boost the cream and add a bit of vanilla flavor.

  • The Surprise Guest

If you've been mixing a while, you know the magic that TFA Dragonfruit does in a recipe. With a delicious flavor, and emulsifying properties, I used just enough in this recipe to help hone the strawberry into something fresh and exciting, while also adding a bit of the pineapple flair that TFA Dragonfruit has on its own. It helps blend the strawberries and, I believe, shortens the steep time on this recipe to 2 weeks.

###The God Himself

####God Milk

  • 4% TFA Strawberry
  • 4% TFA Strawberry Ripe
  • 3% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust
  • 3% TFA Bavarian Cream
  • 1% TFA Dragonfruit

That's it. 15% flavoring, 2 week steep, all TFA, tasty as fuck.

If you like my recipe, please do not post it publicly to ELR or AllTheFlavors. I've kept it off ELR for a reason, and there's only room for one God on AllTheFlavors.

He can't nominate his own recipe. So, I say no one nominate it. Not because it isn't amazing and definitely deserving, and quite possibly the best S&C vape out there despite also being super accessible, but just out of spite because he abandoned you all, leaving you in the comparatively feeble hands of /u/Wh1skeyK1ng and definitely much, much feebler hands of yours truly. Basically, fuck Skiddlz. He doesn't love you anymore, he just wants your votes.

Also, it's not like there aren't plenty of other wonderful recipes you can nominate:

Sugar Cookies & Cream and about a gazillon others by /u/Chrisdvr1. We could have a whole Recipe of the Year thing with nothing but Chrisdvr1's recipes and rub Skiddlz's nose in that.

Apple Buttah

Dinner Lady Lemon Tart Remix

Grack Juice

Cuprian

PEBBLES

Watermelon Crack

Pistachio RY4-U

Best Damn Pink Lemonade

Green Tea Kit Kat

True, but they would only win if you kept my recipes out. ;)

And FWIW, I'm not nominating my recipe, I'm posting it to reddit so it is even possible to be nominated.

Yes, we're aware that you're not nominating it. You'll have one of your alts do that. :p

Thank you. I disagree especially compared to these other recipes I've listed and even compared to two or three of my own, but thank you. Nothing is nominated yet, /u/Kirkt says he'll open the contest thread for nominations 1/1/17 if he's not too hungover.

I'm gonna be a dick and vote for my strawberry milks.

It's not a new profile but a lot of people have enjoyed it (over 150 comments, and people still PM me to this day saying thank you). It's not as popular as something as Stachio-RY4 or apple buttah because it isn't revolutionary or new, plus I don't have an ATF account so I can't be fucked to post it up.

I'm with you. The combo of TFA Strawberry and TFA Strawberry (Ripe) are straight vomit to me. Makes the whole recipe smell like hurl. :(

3 points

by skiddlzninjaover 8 years agoThat one moderator. You know, the honey guy.

You could be sensitive to butanoic acid; it's in Strawberry Ripe, and at higher percents becomes a cheesy flavor. It's also known as butyric acid, the essence of vomit.

2 points

by ErantyIntover 8 years ago

I am super sensitive to smells (when my sinuses are working) and have a really awful gag reflex to smells and sounds of people getting sick.

So sounds like that's exactly what's happening. I can't taste Strawberry, and can't stand Ripe. My entire life is FW Strawberry, CAP Sweet Strawberry, and INW Shisha Strawberry.

I actually tried "upgrading" God Milk by subbing in a bunch of JF so I could post a satirical Godlier Milk... it was just meh. And that's what made me think that, despite the basic set of ingredients, Skiddlz might have actually put some real work into this one. Or he just got lucky like with all his other delicious recipes ¯\(ツ)

Either way, it deserves some sort of runner up position. Just don't put that guy on the top of the podium, he'll never leave ;)

I'll probably nominate Mother of Dragons Milk just to confuse /u/ID10-T, as he can't seem to understand why people like it so much.

8 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years ago

That would indeed confuse me, as to why you'd waste your nomination when there were so many much better recipes created this year, and also irritate me a little since I have a couple of other recipes that I'm much more proud of after working very hard on them.

Love your idea, Godlier Milk. I've thought about making a 50/50 blend of God Milk and Mother of Dragons' Milk and calling it "Mother of God's Milk." Ever wonder what Jesus Christ tasted when He breastfed? This shit right here

I'm surprised that this recipe is more popular than Cliché, that shit is probably the most tasty juice that I've ever vaped. The rotating flavour is absolute genius, its been my ADV for the past 6 months or so. So for that thank you /u/skiddlzninja.

Tastes great, keep up the good work.

by HashSlingingSlashurover 8 years ago

Honestly I agree ... TPA Strawberry is my least favorite of the popular strawberries.

3 points

by obliterayteover 8 years ago

It's the only strawberry my buds can taste. I used to be one of those freaks that couldn't taste anything strawberry, and then TPA Strawberry changed my motherfucking life.

2 points

by HashSlingingSlashurover 8 years ago

My favorites are FA strawberry and JF strawberry sweet. CAP sweet strawberry and TPA Strawberry ripe are good when used together along with a bit of FA strawberry.

Ordering MF strawberry this week, I hope it's the answer to all strawberries.

My favorite strawberry to date is

1% FA strawberry

2% TPA Strawberry ripe

2% CAP sweet strawberry

Tweaking it now with JF instead of CAP

1% FA

1.25% JF strawberry sweet

2% TPA Strawberry ripe

Still steeping this in my S&C recipe. 2% JF was wayyyy too much and spoiled the recipe, even after a steep was unvapable because of how picky I am.

Edit: sidenote: not a huge fan of shisha strawberry either. It's good but I like the aforementioned strawberry shit more

3 points

by Dalphoover 8 years ago

2 points

by analfissuresarebadover 8 years ago

Can you taste Strawberry ripe in a standalone? I'm trying to figure out if I am strawberry blind haha

2 points

by Dalphoover 8 years ago

Nope the shi strawberry is the only strawberry vape I can barely taste anything at all. With any strawberry it's like a wide blank void where flavor should be and I can taste all the supporting flavors. Like the other gods milk in ATF it has a hazelnut for body. All I taste is hazelnut in that recipe.

2 points

by analfissuresarebadover 8 years ago

ah all right. I can taste a stand alone strawberry ripe so i'm not strawberry blind I guess. I feel for you tho, strawberry ripe tastes amazing!

1 points

by ajsam3over 8 years agoDiketones, Schmiketones

I'm in the same boat. I can taste strawberry, just not tfa strawberry ripe on its own. I need inw shisha strawberry or jf sweet strawberry in addition to taste it. However, even as a strawberry blind person, the cream is so balanced here that it tastes goddamn delicious.

3 points

by PalefaceVaperover 8 years ago

The dragon fruit seems to kick up the strawberry up a notch. I've known others that couldn't taste strawberry, but with the addition of dragon fruit they could.

What's your beef with ELR?

9 points

by skiddlzninjaover 8 years agoThat one moderator. You know, the honey guy.

It's a terrible format rampant with multiple alternate accounts manipulating votes, and ratings are brigaded frequently. It's a format that hasn't been updated, and once ads were put in place, it seems daath completely abandoned making any improvements. The UI is fucking hideous, the "leaderboard" is toxic with people just 1-starring recipes above them. The VAST majority of people use it as a public, but personal recipe book, making finding an actually worthwhile recipe nearly impossible.

and it doesn't offer licenses for my creations. Alltheflavors does, and fixes all the issues I stated above.

3 points

Does the license do anything? It kinda sounds like bullshit

5 points

by skiddlzninjaover 8 years agoThat one moderator. You know, the honey guy.

It sets a guideline for how I want my recipes used. It has very little legal standing, but it gives me the ability to confront a company that steals my recipe without just blowing smoke.

Essentially it shows that any business stealing my recipes is ethically wrong, and justifies my reaction. They can no longer say "I didn't know these weren't free to use for my business without crediting you or permission beforehand."

Wait, so God Milk is a two week steep? It's listed on All The Flavors as a 5 day steep. Is it vape-able at 5 days and perfect at two weeks, or is All The Flavors completely incorrect?

How essential is the TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust? Would you recommend a NY Cap Cheesecake instead with maybe 1% instead?

It's essential. Completely different form CAP in my opinion.

by HashSlingingSlashurover 8 years ago

JF cheesecake graham crust lol

The thing about the cheesecake graham is that it has both graham and creamy qualities ... So in this recipe it's both providing a cookie/graham note but it's also boosting the cream.

I think cheesecake graham crust is one of the better savory / bakery ingredients and it's quite useful so it's definitely worth picking up. And if you want to make this recipe there's more or less nothing you can sub because everything else will be quite different

2 points

by Tiptup300over 8 years ago

TFA Cheesecake (Graham Crust) is the Graham Crust for a Cheesecake, not actually Cheesecake.

It's like a pie crust made out of crushed graham crackers.

So take graham crackers, crush em up, add butter, maybe an egg, cover the pan with that mix, bake it for a bit till it hardens slightly.

That's cheesecake (Graham Crust), Theres no cheesecake in it.

This is by far one of my favorite S&C recipes. But only in the tanks I use. It's a bit strange in my RDAs (I drip between 100-150w), but in my tanks between 50-75w it's amazing. I ended up subbing out Cheesecake (Graham Crust) for 3% HS Italian Cream for when I'm dripping.

As far as S&C posted to AlltheFlavors, and Reddit this year? Yeah, I would probably put this up at the top.

Just pulled out the notes for my initial tasting of God Milk:

"Vaped 0mg after 9 day steep. Smooth but almost tasteless. Slightly sour note, maybe from the TPA Strawberry."

I might mix it up again, give it a full month, and try it in my limitless plus instead of the Bellus. Thanks for the recipe Skiddlz! I'm a non-strawberry taster so that's probably why it seemed a bit flat for me.
