Nicotine tends to clump up into so called hotspots, so you need to shake the nicotine before using it to distribute it evenly in the base. If the base is VG, which is super viscous, this becomes quite a chore. On top of that, PG has twice the life span of VG, so unless you have allergies, there's really no reason at all to go for VG based nicotine. Even if you want max VG juice, using 100 mg/ml base, it's such a small portion of PG that it won't really make a difference.

I personally like VG based nic, because I like thicker juice, and most flavorings are PG based anyway. VG based nic will be much thicker, and if you are using syringes, it could be a pain. I've heard they store differently as well, though I can't speak on that. I just put my spare VGNic in the freezer.

Lots of people do this. It might decrease the steeping time a little, but the flavors need time to mix with the base as well as with each other, so it's not going to eliminate the need for steeping.

1 - You're making the common mistake of confusing 6% nic with 6 mg/ml nic, the difference is tenfold. Check the bottom of this post from the sidebar for the math. The difference in weight however is pretty insignificant.

2 - There are apps with this functionality, I believe specific gravity is built into ELR as well, but most of us simply assume everything except VG weighs 1 g/ml. That simplifies the process enormously. Also note that if you mix such a recipe, using specific gravity, you'll actually deviate from the original.

2b - It's a matter of cost. A scale with capacity of a few hundred grams and precision down to thousands of a gram is very expensive and not really necessary. You can dilute the strongest concentrates to 10% to achieve the same result at no cost. I think you're confused about measuring the nicotine however. I'll give you an example using 25 mg/ml PG based nic. If I want to make 10 ml juice at 3 mg/ml, I add 1.2 grams of nicotine (more if using VG based nic) and with a 0.01 gram precision scale I can hit that mark super accurately. Even using the 100 mg/ml base, adding 0.3 grams is still easy. And normally I'd make batches larger than 10 ml, so it really is a non-issue.

2a. probably. it's probably also going to cost more than you want to pay just for diy. using a diy calculator would be consistently faster

2b. see 2a. the difference in weight between 3mg/ml and 6mg/ml is so minuscule as to not be worth worrying about unless you mixing up gallons and gallons. in which case see 2a.

I never did like cinnamon anything, until picking up FLV Rich Cinnamon. Bakery, dessert-type flavor. Very strong too, 1 drop per 10ml (or .3%) is most people's sweet spot.

And FLV Cinnamon Crunch (I think it is named) is close to that cinnamon cereal at 4% standalone.

I have not personally noticed this happening with my bottle of the same flavor, but I am guessing it could be either the flavoring evaporating and condensing on the sides (main banana compound being isoamyl acetate) or the alcohol (used to increase solubility of previously mentioned organic compounds) doing the same. Both of these compounds are volatile and will readily evaporate at room temp (I'm considering 62 F to be within room temp range).

I doubt it is moisture from an outside source and in fact, signifies a nicely sealed bottle as a lack of this condensation would suggest the volatile compounds are escaping (which a small amount might be anyways).

If you are getting dry hits with 70/30 you need to fix your wicking

TLDR:

• Go for a nice big coil if possible (3mm inner diameter)

• Tuck you cotton in nice and tight inside the coil.. it may sound strange.. but it needs to be really tight inside the coil then make it nice and fluffy on the ends near the wicking holes...

The extra pg in your juices could help. I use a griffin too and can't chain vape anything above 80/20. I usually make my own juices at 70/30.

Everyone will have different answers for this, here's mine: INW Peach, depends on whether you want a natural Strawberry or a candy strawberry or a versatile strawberry that's between the two, a combination of FA & TFA Coconut and TFA Coconut Candy but INW for a single-flavor Coconut, I don't know about isomalt, a combination of FW and TFA Blueberries with FA Bilberry and a hint of lemon, TFA Raspberry Sweet, INW Dragonfruit for a real dragonfruit flavor even though TFA Dragonfruit is an amazing ingredient, and CAP New York Cheesecake for a real cheesecake flavor even though TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust is an amazing ingredient, FA Cream Fresh for milk, and TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Although, I must say that for all of these a different ingredient might be a better fit, depending on what you're trying to do and how the flavors interact, and that rather than starting with random flavors, you should look for some recipes that sound good and have been well-liked by others and start your collection with the flavors needed to make those. Also, check out the "My First Order" link in the sidebar.

There is lots of great information in the sidebar that you should read before starting to mix. You want to order larger than your target nicotine concentration. If you order 3 mg base and you want 3 mg target, it will be less than that.

You'd buy higher. If you buy 3mg base and expect a 3mg juice, the flavoring you add (usually in PG) will reduce the overall nic level. The higher the nic level and the more you buy, the cheaper it'll be per ml.

You are correct homie try a small amount of the dilution first so you don't waste many more materials.

1 - Either check the average percentage other people use for each particular concentrate at ELR and ATF or use a generic measure of something like 1% for INW, 3% for FA, 5% for CAP/TFA/FW. The latter method is only a rough estimate to get a first impression based on brand strength and can sometimes be way off.

2 - If it's a fruit or berry, you can try it right away, and again after a few days. Creams, desserts, tobaccos etc should be tested at intervals, since they develop over time at varying rates. You'll see the biggest changes during the first week or two.

3 - Skip additives in recipes unless you know they're necessary, but especially in single flavor testing since the whole point is to get to know the concentrate without any interference.

Buy all separately

You won't need much if you decide to mix by weight instead of volume. You will mix directly into the end bottle. In the sidebar under "beginners guide" you will find "botboys guide to mixing by weight". Both the calculator and scales are highly recommended.

Just hit print in your browser (command-p on a mac, control-p on Windows, I think) ... the css is setup to eliminate everything you wouldn't want printed.

If all you're looking for is 20mg concentration nicotine down to 6, that's all the calculator will need. Doesn't matter what the solvent is if it's only a calculation for initial and final nicotine concentration.

I would enter it as 20mg nicotine in vg.

Keep it simple until you know how those flavors work with each other. We don't know for a fact that those are FW flavors. Try just the Strawberry + Bav Cream at 3-4% and 1% respectively.

IMO PG. VG is a bitch to work with because the nic likes to seperate and form hot spots of extremely high nic. Then to shake it back in it takes an asston of effort. Unless you need to go PG free I would highly recommend 50/50 or 100% PG solvent. Even with 100% PG nic, you won't be adding much PG to a mix if you're using strong concentration.

I started out with VG based, and knew before I got through even 1/4 of it that my next order would be PG based or 50/50 (I ended up going 50/50 after trying some out). It's just so much easier to shake up and not worry about hot spots, shaking it for hours, etc.

No unneeded extras, decent flavor selection, enough of everything to mix quite a bit of juice. Not bad for the price.

I would add some PG and more empty bottles (you can never have enough). A couple sizes of syringes and you're in business.

Luer lock needles actually screw into the syringe base, whereas the slips are a press fit. Press fit is alright, just don't try to force thick fluids through high gauge needles unless you want to spray said fluid EVERYWHERE. (Yes, I've seen this happen. In a hospital lab. With bodily fluids and it was as horrendous as you're thinking it was.)

Mostly, yes, although you can find some people noting that they are also MTL vapers and designed their recipes specifically for that. Take one of the recipes that that you tried that was just "alright." Preferably one that's not too complex so you're not putting too much effort into this experiment. Increase all the flavors in it by 25%. For example: Mother of Dragons' Milk recipe: 7% TFA Dragonfruit, 2% each TFA Strawberry Ripe, TFA Bavarian Cream, TFA Vanilla Swirl. So, you do 8.75% TFA Dragonfruit, 2.5% everything else, so you're maintaining the same recipe ratio and just upping the total flavor %. See if that fixes your problem. I can't guarantee that will do it for you, as it could due to an number of other factors, but it might work. I have scaled down quite a few old MTL recipes by 25 to 50% for sub-ohming, so I'm assuming going the opposite direction would work similarly.

You are steeping them with the cap on, totally airtight? Room temp, out of sunlight? Because that sounds like what would happen if you left the cap off, let them get too warm, or left them exposed to the sun. Also, are you shaking them occasionally during the steeping process?

Shake n Vape flavors may initially taste alright, but I feel like most, if not all flavors require a couple days - weeks to allow the flavoring to properly mix with the unflavored pg/vg and to allow any traces of alcohol to dissipate. I think some flavors such as Raspberry (CAP) Strawberry Ripe (TFA) Double Apple, Sweet Tangerine Apricot, etc all may taste great after a couple days (or maybe an overnight steep) while those creams and cookie flavors may take longer. Just play with the flavors and smell/taste them every couple of days.

For CAP, TFA, and FW it's probably safe to mix between 3-5%. You can go to e-liquid-recipes.com and search for a flavor there and look at the median percentage used for a starting point. when you search for another flavor, be sure to click "recipes" on the right to ensure that you are choosing the most commonly used version. You can also go to alltheflavors.com and search a flavor there for the average percentage used and start there. Taste your flavors as a shake and vape, let them age for a week, then test again.

I have no clue what TFCC or P&B are.

P.S. no need to test the sweetener by itself, in my opinion. What you can do though is make a tester of the Raspberry at 3% and another tester with Raspberry at 3% and Sweetener at 0.5-1%. Or do this with any other flavor you feel like doing it with. If you were trying to use the * as a list, it's best to just hit enter twice after each item.

Whats your current PG/VG blend? How much flavoring do you add (post a current recipe that does this) is your nicotine PG or VG based? If VG based nicotine do you give it a good shake or stir before extraction?

I find max VG recipes tend to taste better with just a little more flavoring as VG takes longer to absorb the flavoring into it. A 50/50 mix you'll notice the flavoring a bit more with the throat hit and what not and the max VG will naturally be a bit sweeter from the VG as you already said. I would at least let it sit overnight even as a shake n vape just to let the flavors settle. I've never tried the honey dew but the Pink Lemonade is pretty good to vape right away without a long steep. If you want recipes that don't require much steeping stick to fruity flavors and stay away from bakeries/custards ect. Tho I do note that even fruity flavors seems to smoothe out after a good steeping.

If you have questions pertaining to recipes, you need to post the recipes. Having said that, I don't think anyone will really know. You'll need to just mix them up yourself and test them out. Why are you using all DX flavors?

Math is math. It doesn't get any more difficult when changing how you mix. As long as you rinse them out with water and let them dry for a day they should be fine

As in a lingering aftertaste after you are done vaping? Unless you are working with menthol, I don't really ever have an aftertaste when vaping.

You'll use pretty small amounts so you'll need to be precise when measuring. You'll also need to be a bit more careful with it, washing off any you get on your hands, keep it away from kids and pets, the usual. And it will be a bit more sensitive to heat and light. But that's all you need to consider really. I dilute mine to 25 mg/ml for ease of use, safety and longevity, but it's really a matter of preference.

By diluting it you mean adding the nicotine to unflavored VG and flavoring, or do you mean to dilute the actual 100mg/ml bottle with more unflavored VG/PG? You never dilute the bottle of nicotine.

If you need to vape at 3mg you just plug in the numbers to a calculator. Usually it's just 1.1 gram of 100mg/ml nic added into a 30ml bottle will net you 3mg of nicotine strength.

This was something I made for a buddy of mine for months. Good stuff, could sub TPA double chocolate clear.

Hangsen Banana is amazing and potent. Bullcity has it, I don't like banana cream because it's too artificial. Hangsen banana has an artificial taste for sure but it's got a lot of realistic nuances like the aroma of the peel is there and the softness of a banana is there, it's quite good. A Ripe banana flavor for sure and with all the other parts of the banana present, the artificial taste just one among the toatlity of flavors that is the Gros Michel banana.

I do not recommend this flavoring often because not many people look for banana but it is great and works with bakery stuff and other fruits. 1% is all I have ever used in mixes and it always shows up nicely.

Look up fizz's bombies nana cream And add a small percentage, 1% or less, of tfa double chocolate (clear).

I've also tried adding banana to DIYorDIE's chocolate milkshake recipe but that was awful

My Blue Berry Extra is definitely a dark flavor. If memory serves I didn't get a purple or indigo-likecolor...mine was kind of just...amber/darkish color and now I am thinking does it has to be purple?! Eh, whatevs it still tastes good.

You can throw the bottles in the dishwasher, but the pipettes will be tossed about and likely break. Just soak those in very hot water, and a quick alcohol wash for the rubber and plastic.

No clone recipe, but apple juice and a strawberry watermelon will be fairly easy.

The clone request thread is pretty dead. I think that's in part because cloning is actually really hard and not that many people attempt it and in part because after DIY'ing for a short time, you quickly realize that you can make juices that taste better to you than even a perfect 1:1 clone would taste, so that would be a ton of effort, and for what? Unless you're just doing it for the challenge. I feel for all the people who request the same things there month after month and never get a response, because I've been there. But I can't help much because I haven't bought juice since early 2015 and haven't even heard of most of the juices people ask for clone recipes for.
