flavorings*
I am a huge fan of Inawera's flavorings and a good customer until my last order arrived.
One of my flavorings had a dead fly/insect inside so I messaged them about this including my order details and picture proof, and got no reply. A week has passed now and still nothing.

For a fly to get in the flavoring and packed, they mustn't be as good in hygiene.
Is it gross, yes but fucked up shit happens and you want to discontinue your use of their products that is completely up to you but I have no reservations about using them again. You should see what's allowed in your food. In real life no matter how clean or meticulous you are something will always slip through
Yup, food is allowed something like .01% cockroach/bug/rat matter & cockroach/bug/rat shit/piss in the food... among other things.
And, as gross as it sounds, it's been proven that we all are capable of/probably actually accidentally ingest bugs/spiders that fly/crawl into our mouths during our sleep. Shit happens.
It most definitely has not been proven that we eat spiders and bugs in our sleep.
Not that I care in the slightest about this bug incident, but there is quite a difference in the digestive system handling a foreign material/object, and how the lungs handle similar contaminates

And that's exactly why, for a short while, I never had to wait in line at Chipotle.
Still better than fructose.
But there's fructose inside the fly, man.
I had a little fruit fly in a bottle from one of DIY_eJuice's favorite vendors and didn't hesitate to continue ordering from them because well, it's not that big of a deal. Several hundred gnat free bottles before and after means it's probably a very rare occurrence.
The little bastard probably snuck into one of the bottles before it was filled. It would be easy to miss. Not exactly damning IMO.
Hell, op should not look into the packaging of peanut butter. 1 fruit fly is nothing.
Whole grain bread is rife with insects.
Hell, every bag of flour comes with bonus grain weevil eggs, too, but, if you store your flour/grains in the freezer, you can kinda' pretend that shit isn't happening.
Also, I wish I could un-know everything I've heard about the manufacturing of Pringles. ^shudder.
Just had the same thing happen from a well known re-bottler. They were more than cool to send me a free replacement and a return shipping label so they could examine the hairy little creature for themselves.
I will definitely order from them again, and probably would have picked the fly out and used the flavor without much worry if they didn't want it back.
That's why I buy from people who rebottle... They remove the fly for me... :P Seriously that does suck... but they have INW Biscuit so... I can't quit them
And creme brulee
Haven't tried that one. I want to try the custard to but it's not in stock at the places I purchase from.
It looks like you emailed their bot's email? Not sure if that's the email address that sends your shipping status and order receipts and such, but it's most likely not monitored. I would try their Contact Page before slandering them on a popular website where most of us are customers of theirs. I've never ordered directly, but you should try other forms of contact with them. Unless you sent it from that page and it just straight up sent an email for you, but it looks like you directly emailed them yourself. Maybe try finding a phone number, or just keep sending messages daily until it catches their attention.
Trust me, doesn't matter what email you try and contact inawera from, you wont get a response unless its directly through paypal dispute even they they wont respond to you, only to paypal. I've had my fair share of issues with them, and I've stopped buying directly and instead through rebottlers so that I could actually get customer service.
The message was send with the contact form in their site, the message in the picture is just the report that it was sent and a copy for me.
Other than the contact form on their site I tried their email they have in their site.
Yeah I realized after I posted it the contents in the message show that it's from that. That sucks though, hope it gets sorted out, but honestly, I have blue dwarf and I have no idea how or what to use it with, it's an odd flavor. It's not bad but it's definitely strange.
Shit like this does happen, nobody fills bottles in a vacuum.
This does indicate that their customer service is pretty shit, though. They should refund you the bottle at the least.
Actually something like this shouldn't happen in a proper clean room as far as I'm concerned. Particularly one that is a source of flavor concentrates, not just the end product ejuice were talking about..... Presumably this is made in a factory with lab like conditions... I find it a bit disconcerting personally.
Food flavorings aren't produced in a clean room. There really is no need if you are using them for cooking/confectionery. The best you'll probably find is a flavor vendor saying the follow cGMP which doesn't include an ISO clean room (just "clean and hygienic" production environment), but does help with tracking down issues just like this via lotting and batching.
That's a shame, I worked for a additive company (mostly supplied preservatives for various spice manufacturers) that had an ISO cleanroom and was ISO certified. I never want to work for a company that has ISO audits again. What a PITA. That said, it does set a standard that I think assures some consistency in the product, regardless of whether it's needed for health reasons. It's more of a quality assurance thing for your customers than it is for the actual health and safety of the end product. It still remember the damn quality policy of that place word for word haha. I don't even remember the gettysburg address word for word. -_-
Shit sucks man but it looks like you hit the jackpot for Murphy's law, hopefully their customer service will make things right and not blame you for it in an attempt to get petty compensation. Most likely Inawera does have a QC but alas the fly snuck past, I mean damn how does a fly get through? I have another story of a similar thing where a customer called in SCREAMING that we put a tiny spider in the bottle. Every bottle the company made was bottled by hand and we concluded that the customer was trying to pull a fast one (similar to how someone keeps a bag of toenail clippings so they can sprinkle it on their food and complain to the waiter) regardless we ended up giving her a refund to keep the peace. Maybe the fly you had followed someone into the clean room and made a pass by the machines as they were filling up. The fly explores and gets caught when a machine dispenses fluid, forcing the fly into the bottle. I mean , there are many ways a fly can land in your ejuice, but it's up to the vendor to rectify the situation. Hopefully they will get back to you with a refund or free replacement of that flavor as that is the only proper resolution going forward, not a canned response "sorry we will check harder next time."
Inawera is not known for their customer service. I hope OP gets a response and a new bottle sent but it wouldn't surprise me if INW doesn't respond. Have you ever searched the threads regarding people requesting MSDS from them? Fairly abysmal on INW's part.
Was that direct from Inawera? Or was it from a retailer that buys in bulk & repackages to 10ml bottles?
EDIT: Ah, first image shows an email to inawera.
