International recipes

Watching Wayne's ECC episodes on diyordie, he talks about Japan and their unique flavour/recipes. I was wondering with all the different cultures vary widely in food, whether it's bakeries, candies, or even juice itself. Imagine a world of new flavours and recipes that are completely different. Now I think most of the major flavour companies used worldwide are American, or maybe they have their own smaller vendors. Hell, maybe in North America, DIY is just leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the world, but I was wondering in other countries maybe they have some sort of "subreddit" that we could find and share info back and forth. I'm not sure how to go about finding this, but maybe someone already has?

I believe one of the more active mixers here is in Japan, the edibleprojector fella maybe? I've spent time searching foreign food recipes, but when you're unfamiliar with a particular food, how would you know if a concentrate/mix is accurate to what you're envisioning? Last time I was in Mumbai, I ate hamburgers for 16 days. They tasted like... Hamburgers.

I will say, them Greeks got some good looking deserts though! Many that would make interesting recipes.

I'm aware there's a couple, but with the amount of major countries, having only two over seas I find is uncommon, im not sure how vaping is widespread but you'd think there be more

You've just never heard of them. Germany : Sasami, Twisted Aromas, Avoria. France : Solubarome, VDLV, Corsicavap. I've heard about Flavormonks which is belgian. UK have some but they're expensive iirc. Pretty sure you can find even more and I'm not even counting all the numerous one shots brands.

I don think your you going to get a "Japanese chocolate" if that's what your looking for in terms of the difference in baking. I lived in Japan when I was 9-12 years old and they still have the best chocolate filling for their baked goods (not doughnuts...In Japan you could have your favorite anime character be produced in bread form filled with chocolate). Turns out my sister.made the SAME Chocolate a month ago, I remember eating when I was a wee old lad. She used Nutella to get that flavor mark. So with some tinkering on the flavors you are sure to get your mark. My experiences with Japanese foods and baked goods is they tend to take a more "lighter and subtle" taste versus an in your face. But then again I lived on okinawa during that time, so they don't like to call themselves Japanese

This subreddit isn't specific to North America, surely? I don't know what your selection is like across the pond, but you could have a gander at EU concentrate sites like chefs flavours in the UK or le petit vapoteur in France (site is in English) to see what we're working with over here, there's a pretty big market for one shots so they'd give you an impression of the profiles people go for. Most of the concentrates I see are produced in Europe, probably as that's where I'm based, I'd imagine the same is true over there too.

I usuaully try to get my recipes and join forums of overseas, but honestly, they vape stuff like we do, they still do the strawberry and cream and orange dreamsicle and everything. Good concept for a topic though

True. One thing I've noticed is they seem to use less sucralose than American "premium juice" companies do.

I agree. I've been lurking forums of other countries and they really do vape the same stuff we do. Maybe when other countries come out with different flavours and vaping/DIY continues to evolve, who knows what's gonna come out
