Water in e-Juice alters taste (or is it just me)?

Hi everybody. Recently I've been mixing some stuff, in particular there was TPA Blueberry Wild in one recipe and TPA Raspberry Sweet in another one. Percentages weren't high, and it turned out that flavor was kinda muted and not pronounced at all (usually I mix at 30/70 or close to that). After adding some AD (around 2ml per 30ml) it was like BOOM! Flavor became so much better and pronounced! My theory is that some flavors dissolve better in water rather than pure PG/VG mix and start shining only if some water is present. Did you guys notice something similar too, or is it just me?

Blueberry Wild isn't a strong flavor. You won't get a good blueberry out of just that

IMO blueberry fall flat in any combo. I love blueberries, but can't even taste it in ejuice.

Try my combo:

TFA Blueberry Extra 4%
FW Blueberry 3%
FA Bilberry 0.5%

I have been asked to make "Blueberry Frost" and "Blueberry Ice Cream" juices as sort of a stocking stuffer for a fairly new vaper. No time to test and perfect such things, but I believe in the Trinity so I'm just going to mix it with something like 2% Koolada for the first one and 6% TFA VBIC for the second one. Do you think half a percent of CAP Italian Lemon Sicily would also improve one or both of them?

I know, blueberry wild was only one of ingredients; I just want to say here that only after adding some water I actually START feeling that there is some blueberry at all.

Second this . Grew to love blueberry recipes but hated all the flavors and couldn't find that one until fw blueberry entered my life now I go thru a 30ml of flavor for my self in 2 weeks just got a 6 oz

Not just you. One of the base mixes that I use has 5% distilled water and/or saline. The idea was shamelessly stolen from Inawera and the bases they sell (and what they recommend for various flavors)

Ya, adding saline or a drop of water will help at first but I think after a few days it starts to mute things a bit.

More exact example: I started creating new recipe by taking a shot glass of water and then I dripped few drops of this and that until I found that the end result is worth mixing (yes, I realize that this method does not give you an immediate picture how it will taste in a real mix, but it just allows you to find a correct balance). So, it was something like this:

Raspberry Sweet (TPA) 7%
Cherry Extract (TPA) 3%
Apple (TPA) 2%
Citrus Punch (TPA) 2%
Ethylmaltol (TPA) 2%

It smelled so good in a shot glass with water, but was not even near to that while in mix. In fact, I barely could taste raspberry in my mix. I was frustrated. Added 2% of raspberry and 2% of apple on top of that, still no good.

In the end, I added few ml of water as a last resort. Guess what? Immediately it turned out to be one of the best mixes I've ever created! One of my coworkers told me that now it's his new favourite one.

Maybe you're on to something. Seeing how VG is hydroscopic, meaning it sucks water out of the air, maybe the steeping with the cap off is actually a slow way of letting the VG in the juice absorb moisture. So by adding the moisture at the start, you create a 'steeped' juice.

Ps. I am an expert and this is not just a theory or me typing up some thoughts, it is the cold hard absolute truth. If you disagree with me you are simply wrong. I am right. Sounds like you could try steeping your juice for a few days to week and skip the water.

Almost every one of those flavors have water in them lol that's funny. Hey, if it worked then go with it. I thought maybe having 2% ethyl maltol may have been muting things. Adding water thins out VG so maybe that also had something to do w it? Idk

I've also noticed that when there's water, that I get a bit of an added throat hit..nothing crazy though.
