Amazon DIY
submitted almost 9 years ago by Joey11234

I got a 20$ amazon gift card I want to spend on vaping needs for DIY

I already have a

• Scale

• Syringes

• Flavorings

• VG/PG

• Bottles

• Glass Beakers

• Glass Stir Rod

• Nicotine

I've been mixing DIY E-Juice for 3 years now so I wanna know is there anything else I'm missing to make it easier for me for DIY or just vaping in general that I can buy from Amazon.

If you are using a scale you do not need beakers and a stir rod.

Pipettes for sure. Since you're getting a scale, why are you getting syringes?

I already have everything posted, I have syringes for my 4oz bottle flavorings and my nicotine.

I personally just use a pipette to transfer nic from my 60ml amber glass storage bottles to a 15ml dropper bottle for dispensing, same with my 4 oz flavorings. Easier than having to deal with syringes and the pipettes were only like $3 or $4 shipped from premium vials on amazon, looks like the price is a little higher now. I've been happy with both the pipettes and glass bottles I've received from premium vials, acceptable quality at a good price.

how do yall store your working nic? me personally, i keep my nic in glass bottles with Phenolic Cone Lined Cap and just use a syringe to measure each dose.

I keep my nic in those and fill a small 15ml ldpe dropper for mixing, the storage bottles get topped off with wine preserver whenever I fill my mixing bottle.

one with gas or one that uses vacuum?

I do something similar. I fill a 15ml Amber bottle with a dropper then put the rest in the fridge. 15ml mixes me a decent amount of juice @ 3mg

That's what I do. I also dilute my 100mg/ml nicotine concentrate into 30ml bottles at 33.33% (10ml nic, 10ml pg, 10ml vg. real simple).

Stuff like labels and disposable pipettes are readily available there.

Some folks like the acrylic nail polish trays for making flavor storage more convenient.

If there's really nothing you need, you could always jump over to gcx and convert the card into something more useful, too.

What's gcx?

I ran this through my secret abbreviation decodifier...

It's either Gift Card Exchange, or the Giant Cats of Xanadu (a known Orlando tourist trap since the early 1600's)

I don't know, I wouldn't risk it and what if they are Nigerian Cats and scam me

/r/giftcardexchange - it's a rather nice community that helps folks safely exchange gift cards for other gift cards, PayPal, etc...

there is medicine flower, lorAnn and cap flavors on amazon. there is plenty of unicorn bottles there, and a lifetime supply of cotton to be had as well as wire and pipettes.

mod skins/silicon sleeves i guess.

actual mods batteries and atomizers are cheaper and less likely to be fake elsewhere. personally only buy cotton, bottles , and pg/vg from amazon .. not even the cotton any more since i haven't gone through even a 1/5th of the first pack i bought from there yet. pg/vg pipettes and bottles on the other hand i've reordered those every few months.

I imagine you'd already have it but more gloves never hurt anyone.

transfer pipettes?

a coworker suggested this milk frother to me.

if you use the little 8ml sample size flavors, this is a must have.

I LOVE THOSE! I bought crappy 5ml plastic bottles and they suck so bad I wish I bought those glass tester bottles.

You might need a mod and an RDA/RTA/Tank.

No that's smoking batteries, I put pour the E-Juice in a pot on the stove top on high until it starts making vapor.

Too much ramp up time. I would recomend the RX200. It only breaks about 70% of the time but there's less ramp up. Pros and cons.

I've read so many bad reviews on the rx200 but I've had mines for over a year and it still works the same as when I bought it, it looks like complete ass but it works. Lol

You could always try a flavoring bottle from Real Flavors such as Pink Burst or Black berry.

Perhaps a funnel for transferring liquid, and always good to have pipettes around.

Those can be gotten from a $ store for less, most likely. :-/ got a set of 3 from my nearby dollar tree.

What? Funnels?

1 points

by Vindtalmost 9 years ago

Yep. Set of 3 different sizes cost me $1.06 after tax. Only one of 'em is any good for transferring VG/PG to smaller bottles though, so the other 2 just went to the kitchen. :)

You could buy a blender dedicated to emulsifying your e juice for speed-steeping

Speed steeping is a myth. Blending it will more than likely add too much air into the mix

This comes from the guide on the side bar of this sub under the steeping sections, and I've been referred to it by other users multiple times.

Emulsifying it in a blender allows it to off-gass some of the solvents and other chemicals that are in the flavorings that cause off-flavors. When I started doing it my juice steeped much more quickly and nicely from what I can tell.

I have never ever heard of getting too much air in your e juice while blending it. Where did you get that notion from?

2 points

by Nubbl3salmost 9 years ago

Probably just that more air = more nicotine oxidation

Who do you get Nicotine from off Amazon?

1 points

by Joey11234almost 9 years ago

Everything listed on this post isn't stuff that I wanna buy off amazon or I want to buy off amazon, its stuff I already have.

And amazon doesn't sell nicotine I checked :(

Scale, no beakers ,pipettes.

On top of the normal PG, VG, bottles, etc. I use glass beakers and an IKEA frother. Planning to upgrade to a little more powerful milk frother soon (for mixing the juice).

Most of the stuff you can find on Amazon indeed, but often at higher than market prices and some not so well known vendors.
