A buttery sweet doughnut, dipped in melted chocolate, served fresh. Have with a coffee for afternoon tea.
THE CHOCOLATE GLAZED DOUGHNUT:
MFG | FLAVOUR | % ---|---|---- INW | Biscuit | 0.75 CAP | Yellow Cake | 2.00 CAP | CDS | 1.25 CAP | Funnel Cake | 5.00 FA | Joy | 1.00 INW | Milk Chocolate | 4.00 CAP | Butter Cream | 1.00
Flavour Notes:
INW Biscuit / CAP Yellow Cake / FA Joy - This is a fantastic dough base to start from, all three come together to form a wonderful cakey taste and mouth-feel. The CAP Yellow Cake can be subbed for other Yellow Cakes.
CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl - Used here at 1.25% to add a little bit of spice to the mix.
CAP Funnel Cake - I've been experimenting with Funnel Cake a lot, Used here at 5% it really boosts the Doughnut right into another stratosphere. It gives the cake a fried texture along with a sweetness on the exhale, The Funnel Cake is the real work dog of the recipe.
INW Milk Chocolate / CAP Butter Cream - Used together for the chocolate glaze, This combo It gives a nice buttery milk chocolate taste that sits at the tip of the tongue. The Butter Cream adds a creamy note to the chocolate that work together a wonderful, rich, chocolate glaze....like best friends do.
I love this as a shake 'n' Vape, but would say it could do with at least a 7 day steep to let the chocolate and Butter Cream really meld.
Any constructive criticism or feed back would be most welcomed.
Recipe on All The Flavours
Awesome job deconstructing the chocolate doughnut by assembling it piece by piece. I think most people would take the easy route and just use Capellas. Wish I could mix this up but I'm missing milk chocolate. :(
Capella's donut flavours taste like waxy dirty cardboard
Perfect. This must be the missing flavor for my Hobo's House recipe. Using TFA cheesecake for that dirty socks note and TFA Honey for the cat piss ;)
According to the reviews CAP Funnel Cake is close to their doughnut though, they even make the same complains about the playdough taste.
Anyone compare this to Bronuts yet? Bronuts does not do it for me. Neither does rhodonite, if I'm honest...sorry :[
I agree on the Bronuts but Rhodonite for me is amazing! Have you let it steep for at least 3 weeks? I know wayne says it is shake and vape but honestly the fuji and the raspberry take over everything. When they "sit down" though you get the amazing background and the fruit is still there just not in your face.
Looks like a great recipe! I actually use a similar combination of flavourings to make a donut base: Biscuit / Joy/ Yellow Cake / Acetyl Pyrazine.
Funnel Cake seems like it be a good addition because it is essentially a donut. Although, I have yet to try it simply because I dislike Capella's other donut flavours.
This looks amazing, and you just convinced me to add more items to my next order. Also you say FA YC can be swapped out, pretty sure you meant CAP. I have JF so I'm gonna use that once things come in that I can use. Looks like funnel cake is gonna be the key to my churro recipe, it's just been missing something
Ahhh, so I did...thanks dude, I'll edit this. I wrote this up at like 3am Australian time last night.
Not a problem, I just happened to catch it, I'm anxious to try this, I've been wanting a good doughnut recipe.
Ok man, so I haven't had it steeping for long, I made it about 24 hours ago, but it's really good so far! I used JF Yellow Cake swapped at the same percentage, because why not. I was apprehensive about putting Joy in there, as I just can't really stand that flavor, it just tastes really weird to me, but it's not very noticeable. I definitely taste doughnut, and it's pretty damn delicious. It tastes almost like a chocolate cake doughnut, which are probably my favorite. The steeping on this is definitely looking hopeful. I can't wait to try it in a few days.
Thanks heaps for the feedback man, sorry I didn't see this earlier. I need to update this a bit now as I've started adding 1% chocolate fudge brownie and dropping the milk chocolate to 3% to boost the initial chocolate a bit, I think I've lost the ability to taste inw milk chocolate, dang it!
Thanks heaps dude
Perhaps Funnel Cake (Cap) is the savior of donuts recipes, or maybe it's not. I'll need more evidence, and more people to vouch for it, before I go nuts with another order.
