INW Anton Apple
submitted almost 9 years ago by wafflepriest1

Setup: Velocity mini clone; dual Clapton (26/36) coils; .3 ohms @ 65W; full cotton wicks.

Testing: INW Anton Apple @ 1%; 70/30 VG/PG; Aged: No steep through two weeks.

Flavor Description: Flavor starts out tasting like the skin of a green apple, not super bright or juicy but it is detectable, nor does it have that apple 'snap' or crispness. After a bit of a steep these elements actually come about a bit more, which surprised me. By the end of a two week steep the flavor had turned into a slightly tart and sweet, bright, and crisp apple. The flavor isn't spot on, it would need to be juicier at the very least to be more realistic - but its a good green apple flavor nonetheless.

Off-notes: None that I noticed. Might get weird or floral at higher percentages.

Throat hit: 6/10. The flavor is a kinda dry and harsh on the throat.

Uses: Might work as a single flavor mix for some people, but adding just a few other flavors would make it so much better. /u/NotCharlesManson did this incredibly well in Antoine, which is a bright green apple with tropical notes as described by the man himself. I use it mainly to brighten up fruit mixes or in a candy vape I want to add a bit of sweet/tart, both can be achieved using it at around or under 1%.

Pairings: Fruits, candies, drinks/cocktails (appletini anyone?). I've tried it in creams and it is okay, I would NOT try it in bakeries or tobaccos.

Overall Impression: While it isn't the most accurate representation of a green apple (it isn't tart or juicy enough) its still a good apple flavor. I have only had Fuji to compare it to, and both are good but have different apple profiles they aim to achieve (red vs. green), so aren't very interchangeable. If your looking for a slightly tart and sweet, kinda bright and crisp green apple INW Anton Apple might be what you're looking for.

Please put any other opinions on this flavor in the comments, and as usual let me know any way you all think the reviews could be improved.

I see over and over that anton is supposed to be a green apple flavor. Ever since I did my single flavor test with it I got a softer not as crisp red apple. More like a Johnathan

I have found a 1:1 mix at 2.5% with fuji to be a great combo

I finally got this and mixed up your apple pie recipe today. It smells delicious but will give it a proper steep.

I have heard some other users (Some, mind you lol - not many) say that they do get a red apple taste instead. Or maybe it was you in another thread...either way, this is not the first time I have heard this. I know that many, many people taste green apple instead though.

Very much agree with the review. I tried to mix this all sorts of ways trying to get a good caramel apple and never really got it to work. I got it close, close enough to keep me trying, but I never got it how I wanted it, I just don't think it has the acidity I was looking for.

I think I was mixing something like

  • 0.5 - 1% Anton Apple
  • 2-3% Fa caramel *50/50

It's wasn't bad but flv caramel might work better. It tasted like those artificial green apple lollipops with caramel stuck to the side kinda

This is the worst green apple flavor I own. FA, DiyFS and even FW have better green apple concentrates.

I do enjoy this flavor and I mainly use it for it's tartness, thanks for the review!

Guys...anton apple it's not green apple. It's sweet, juicy fruit with some tartness. INW flavour is one of the best impression of anton apple juice
