December 2016 Recipe Thread
submitted almost 9 years ago by kirktBring on the Diacetyl, baby

This is the thread to share all of your best individual creations. If you want to share your recipe as its own post, it must have extra content such as development process, variations, etc - but please post it here as well for posterity. We also have weekly threads for new-mixer questions and "help me mix something with these flavors" threads. Please help keep the community "clean" by posting in appropriate threads.

It's best to use the format:
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) y drops per z ml
(note - if you are having trouble with spacing, hit the space bar twice before you hit return and your comment will begin a new line without a paragraph break).

Don't forget to review the many recipes from the November thread. Your next ADV may have already been posted there. Congrats to /u/coop34 for having the top-voted recipe last month by going back to the basics.

Happy Mixing!

This is something I whipped up a while back, it gets REALLY good after a two week steep. Sweet and creamy with a lingering, almost raisiny, bourbon taste. It's a decently complex flavor for how few ingredients there are.

Bourbon Ice Cream

MFG | Flavor | Percentage ---------|----------|---------- TFA | Vanilla Bean Ice Cream | 8% TFA | Kentucky Bourbon | 3% TFA | Toasted Marshmallow | 2% TFA | Brown Sugar | 1%

HOT DAMN this one looks good to me, because I know the combination of KB, TM, and BS is a winner from experience... Mixing those three with VBIC? Hell, yes.

by Taclitealmost 9 years ago

It smells so good straight from the bottle, if it wasn't for the nicotine I'd drizzle it on some ice cream and go to town

As many comments as I've made on this bourbon ice cream post I'm afraid it's going to seem like I'm harassing you, but here's one more before we close out December: I didn't bother smelling the bottle or trying to sniff the clouds I made while vaping this, but I made some for a friend a few weeks ago and she was vaping it in my car last night. My goodness the clouds from this one smell amazing! Rivaled only by, IMO, the clouds of any good recipe containing a fair amount of CAP Sugar Cookie. You could turn people on to vaping just by enjoying this one in public.

That was exactly what I was thinking, this couldn't be anything but tasty. I'm mixing this next.

Already mixed it, now one week into the recommended two-week steep. It's a long wait, better be worth it /u/Taclite !

this is relevant to my interests. need some toasted mallow before i can try it, though.

I hope you'll like it! It's far from an in-your-face kind of flavor, but that's what I like about it.

I am going to cross my fingers and hope that I have enough VBIC left.

1 points

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

Even though I'm going to make it his way first before tinkering with it, I was already thinking that looks a little high on the VBIC and that 6% might be better... If you come up just a little shy, it'll probably be ok.

2 points

by Taclitealmost 9 years ago

It's probably splendid at 6% as well, I just go with 8% as a starting point due to how good Mustard Milk is.

I'm placing a flavor order in the next week and will add Kentucky Bourbon to it because this sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing!

It seems some people are wanting simple recipes with few ingredients. Here is one of those. Def not a shake and vape (unless you like strong honeysuckle). But after a week, the floral aspect has really died down, leaving an X factor that is hard to name, but is bordering on a dessert-type strawberry.

Strawsuckle

3% INW Shisha Strawberry

3% TFA Ripe Strawberry

2% TFA Honeysuckle

As always I mixed at 60vg/40pg.

6 points

by WorstAdviceROCalmost 9 years ago

As a non-taster (ish) of strawberry, I've recently been adding honeysuckle to strawberry recipes as a means of increasing my ability to taste said strawberry. It works well.

4 points

by coop34almost 9 years ago

Interesting. So does a really low amount seem to help? Honeysuckle being so strong, I imagine you wouldn't use much.

9 points

by WorstAdviceROCalmost 9 years ago

About a month or so ago, I made a recipe with FA Pandoro, CAP Sweet Strawberry, TFA Strawberry Ripe, CAP Van. Cupcake and INW Biscuit. Let my old lady try it after a week, and as always I make her guess the flavor. She handed it back and said "nachos and cereal, ehh". I immediately poured off 5ml in a new bottle, added 0.5% Honeysuckle, and after trying it myself, asked her to try it again. "Strawberry Shortcake?" she asked, and damn near wouldn't give it back.

I believe I tried it at 1% in another recipe for the same purpose, but unfortunately I don't have my notes to refer to at this time. I don't remember finding it offensive at the time.

I heard a few drops of dragon fruit helps with strawberry and it appears a few drops of Raspberry can help as well .

7 points

by WorstAdviceROCalmost 9 years ago

TFA Dragonfruit seems to help (for me personally) as long as there no pyrizine-heavy flavors in a mix. When there is, it tends to muddle it. However, my palette is on the not-to-be-trusted-list.

I had only recently started playing with raspberry whatsoever, and pretty sure I only had 1 recipe with that and strawberry in the same mix. Once I'm able to get back mixing again, I'm going to work on a "Strawberry Base for non-tasters". So far I'm thinking TFA Honeysuckle, TFA Raspberry Sweet, TFA Dragonfruit, TFA Straw Ripe, INW Shisha Strawberry and CAP Sweet Strawberry... Made in the same idea as you'd make a creamstone base.

6 points

by HocusKrokusalmost 9 years agoFrugivore

If I was a strawberry guy I'd be all over this. Love to see TFA Honeysuckle getting some attention though!

4 points

by coop34almost 9 years ago

It's a good one for sure. You see above where roc says it helps to to be able to taste strawberry. Stuff is floral for sure, but calms down pretty quickly, leaving an awesome taste.

I haven't played much beyond this and a variation on your Zen Shine, I need to find some additional pairings!

6 points

by HocusKrokusalmost 9 years agoFrugivore

Shameless plug here: This is my favorite use of Honeysuckle in my own work by far.

4 points

by HocusKrokusalmost 9 years agoFrugivore

Honestly you can pair it with any fruit and have a pretty good outcome. It makes a nice sort of quiet base after it steeps a few days for all sorts of other florals and beverages (think cocktails and tonics) as well. Some of my favorites are FA Pear, FA Forest Fruit, INW Plum (obv), INW Raspberry, FA Raspberry, and FLV Boysenberry.

Here's a concentrate recipe I've developed over the last bit, seems to be the best overall mix of the several versions I've tried. Also, I've found INW Lemon as a secret weapon, and something that pairs exceptionally well with TFA Honeysuckle.

by coop34over 8 years ago

Careful with the Honeysuckle, stuff's strong! Really calms after a week or two tho.

If you like that Kiwi recipe, you gotta try the cheesecake from last month's thread. I just mixed another 100ml:)

2 points

by wh1skeyk1ngalmost 9 years agoThanks for reading this flair

Best thing about simple recipes is that it's a lot more likely I have the ingredients to make it. I have an unopened bottle of TFA Honeysuckle and may just have to give this a whirl even though I'm not a huge fan of Ripe.

2 points

by coop34almost 9 years ago

It's probably good without the Ripe, this just my go to combo. If you do mix it, the 2% suckle is pushing the upper limit for itself. But boy, after a week or so the floral has died back a lot, leaving that sweet nectar.

2 points

by contactclosureover 8 years ago

I'm so glad I read this. I had seen a Placid clone with Honeysuckle at 4%. I've been wondering why my mixes with it at 2.5% were still sucking. Going to remix that recipe w HS at 1.5 and see what's up.

Normandy Remix

So one of the chicks at my local b&m absolutely loves Normandy by Harlequinn. Their website describes their eliquid as "That down home southern style banana pudding with vanilla wafers." She liked it so much I had to buy a bottle to give it a go and really liked it. Decided to attempt a remix of it.

I got inspiration for this, especially the banana portion from u/Vurve recipe

https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/3428#vanilla_wafer_banana_pudding_by_vurve

 • TFA Banana Cream 2%

 • LA Banana Cream 4.5%

 • CAP Sugar Cookie 5.5%

 • TFA Vanilla Custard 2.5%

 • TFA Vanilla Swirl 3%

by TogiraIkonoka0618almost 9 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Thanks! I don't think TFA VC is as thick and eggy as CAP VC which is what I was going for. Plus I get spice notes in CAP VC which didn't belong in the profile

2 points

by Edoc_almost 9 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Form me personnally CAP VC1 is just the most unbearable flavor ever ! Almost every Cap bakeries has a bit of that horrendous meolecule but CAP VC1 is the king of them all. And sooo many recipes are CAP VC1 based that it's kind of frustrating. Fortunatelly i like fruits a lot so that's fine.

Will give feedback when done

So I whipped up 60ml and have to say it great but I may have to try subbing part or all of the sugar cookie with NY cheesecake. The crust and richness seems like it would go well here

Milk Was a Rad Choice

Brand | Ingredient | % ---|---|---- TPA | Bavarian Cream | 2% FLV | Cream | 1.5% TFA | Dragonfruit | 0.75% FA | Meringue | 0.5% TFA | Strawberry | 2.5% JF | Sweet Strawberry | 2.5% TFA | Vanilla Bean Ice Cream | 2% MIX AT | 85VG 15PG | 1 Week

Milk Was a Rad Choice - AllTheFlavors

Hey there! Yeah, I posted something similar in October but it wasn't finished then! I think I'm now considering this a wrap. This is my strawberry milk recipe with an emphasis on the milk. It's full and round in the mouth. The cream is thick and sweet. The strawberry is mellow yet present.

I mix it at max VG with 0.5% TPA Sweetener and 0.25% saline solution because I like to live dangerously. Those are both optional, but the sweetener pumps up the flavor and the saline adds to a wet mouthfeel. It's a fantastic shake and vape, but after a week or two it's milky decadence. Now for some brief notes:

The whole idea was a very milky strawberry and cream vape using FLV Cream and JF Sweet Strawberry. Those were the key ingredients that I had to use. Cream has this almost cool taste to it.. Not like Koolada or menthol at all. It isn't cool, but it kind of tastes so. Sweet Strawberry is one of few strawberries I can taste, and it's kind of syrupy. It isn't sickly like INW Strawberry Shisha though. Nor is it gross as all get out like FLV Strawberry. So that's that.

FLV Cream has that heavy cream, almost milky thing going for it. It's a thick cream with an ever so slight spice. I used TPA VBIC to thicken the cream and pump up that vanilla note. I threw in just a splash of Meringue to sweeten the cream into something more like milk. The TPA Bavarian Cream is there to kind of warm up and fill out the cream. JF Sweet Strawberry is a new favorite of mine and I had to use it here for its sweet, nearly syrupy taste. I found a bit of TPA Strawberry took off the sharp edge of the Sweet Strawberry, making it a little softer. The TPA Dragonfruit is just there to help bring the strawberries out a bit. It makes for a thick, creamy, milky vape with a semi-sweet strawberry taste that isn't overpowering. It's been my ADV for quite some time now, and no matter how much I vape it I can still taste it. So, there you have it! Ron Burgundy's Milk Was a Rad Choice (something I sure hope you find yourself saying after trying it!). Please leave feedback; I welcome it good or bad! Happy mixing. 👽

4 points

by WorstAdviceROCalmost 9 years ago

It's a sweet-lemon Italian cake, but FA's is damn smooth and rich. With the subdued lemon flavor enveloped in a rich grainy cake (if there is such a thing) it's the PERFECT flavor to make the best cereal recipe ever. I don't much care for cereal vapes, but the few versions I made were very convincing.

Probably one of my most unique recipes to date. This is a pomegranate infused cupcake with vanilla cream cheese icing. The flavors are evenly balanced and you get a nice cakeyness which is complemented by a moderately thick, rich icing. The pomegranate really brings a bit of zing to help elevate what would be considered a rather bland mix.

Bombcake

 • Capella Vanilla Cupcake - 4%

 • Lorann Cream Cheese Icing - 2%

 • FlavourArt Pomegranate - 1.5%

 • Capella Butter Cream - 1%

 • Flavor West Yellow Cake - 2%

 • TFA Marshmallow - 1%

 • FlavourArt Meringue - 0.5%

Mix at 70/30 or 80/20.

You need to steep this for at least 4 days because Capella Vanilla Cupcake, FW Yellow Cake and LA Cream Cheese aren't shake and vape certified.

Pomegranate: Used to introduce a tartness and also additional sweetness to the cupcake. FlavourArt has probably one of the best pomegranates to date.

Cake: I opted for a combo of Capella Vanilla Cupcake and FW Yellow Cake. Yes, I know, I know, FW Cancer Cake has fructose. So YMMV. Sub for Capella or JF if you have that.

Frosting: From the get-go, I already knew I wanted a cream cheese frosting. And the first flavoring that popped to mind was of course, Lorann Cream Cheese Icing. Together with Capella Butter Cream and Meringue, it really adds to that authentic icing feel. Eventually added TFA Marshmallow just for some mouthfeel.

Will mix up to give some feedback. I'll probably sub JF yellow cake for FW though. I'll mix it and get back to you next week.

3 points

by ajsam3almost 9 years agoDiketones, Schmiketones

hey dirty, sorry it took a while to get back, fought off a nasty cold for a week so my taste buds were fucky.

Just tasted the mix with JF YC subbed in. The pomegranate and the icing are spot on, I taste pomegranate all the way throughout and get that icing right on the end. Enjoying this one for sure. I kind of wanted a little more density with this profile, though. I think the OG FW yellow cake would actually be better than JF for that reason, but I threw it all away to keep myself from using it. Nice work with this one homie.

2 points

by 0ptimusRhymealmost 9 years ago

Check out Capella's new yellow cake. It's denser than JF and more accurate in general. FW is still king, but fructose at those levels is a bit much. Capella YC does a better job than JF for sure

As you all know, I mostly vape creams, bakeries and RY4. But once in a while, I find myself craving a fruity vape. This is a refreshing raspberry pineapple and cactus blend. Simple but very tasty!

Punkberry Cactus

 • TFA Raspberry Sweet - 4%

 • Capella Golden Pineapple - 5%

 • Inawera Kaktus - 1%

 • TFA Koolada - 0.25%

Vanillian Bucks:

INW Vanilla Bourbon- 1.2%

CAP French Vanilla v2- .8%

TFA Bavarian Cream- 1.2%

TFA RY4 Double- 2.5%

CAP Hazelnut- 1%

I've been vaping this one err day for about the last month. Really dig it. It's got the RY4 Double in there, but I hesitate to call it a tobacco flavor. Those vanillas are definitely out in front.

Hollywood Calls (555 tobacco):

FA Glory- 1.5%

INW 555 Gold- 1%

FA Black Fire- .5%

FA Latakia- .5%

TFA Graham Cracker Clear- 1%

TFA Toasted Marshmallow- 1%

Edit: I'm a tinkering kind of guy, so this morning I threw .5% FA MTS Vape Wizard in a 30 ml of this, and I do believe I like it more. It kind of takes the edge off of the Glory, which is a pretty in your face flavor. I'd say it's optional, depending on how bold you want that Glory to be. I'll probably keep it for my final mix.

This is the second iteration of a 555 type I've been working on. Might be the final version. Might end up switching the 555 Gold and Glory percentages. At first I didn't much care for the Gold. Kinda smelled like wet dog to me. But it's grown on me quite a bit.

Old Money (coffee tobacco):

INW Tobacco Coffee- 1.7%

INW 555 Gold- 3%

INW Dark Fire 1%

INW Dirty Neutral Base .5%

I got the Tobacco Coffee from Wizard Labs, but can't seem to find anywhere else that calls it that. I've emailed them to see if they could clarify what the actual name is, but haven't got a response. I'm going to guess that it's Tobacco Coffee Paradise, but I'm not 100% on that. But it's a really good flavor. Almost chocolate-esqu. I mixed this up last weekend (without the DNB) and decided to have a 3 day steep test. It was so good that I ended up going through it all. I got the DNB in yesterday and made a little batch with that, and it was just what I was looking for. Really makes it seem like more of a tobacco vape instead of a dessert like coffee.

That's all for now!

Thank you for posting these. Tobaccos aren't my thing but these look good, the first one so much so that I'm pretty sure it'll be the first tobacco recipe I mix (probably because you hesitated to call it a tobacco lol).

Really glad there are people like you and /u/T_Mace around to broaden my horizons to the joys of tobaccos.

RY4 is a good place to start with it. That recipe is mostly a vanilla flavor. It's so yummy though. I've got it in my tank to kind of mellow myself out after vaping that 555 tobacco. I wouldn't suggest that recipe if you're not in to tobaccos.

Check out ECX Black Mile Plus too maybe. Has kind of a chocolate taste to it. Pretty dark though. Turns the cotton black in less than a day. But it's tasty.

Hey I would really, really love if somebody could try my recipe. I was going for a cinnamon bun custard type thing. I've had 2 people try it and they said it tasted like a great, rich and flavorful caramel. I wanted to see if I could get some outside perspective! I myself don't taste the caramel, but taste is subjective!

Cin-Custard

Cinnamon Roll (FW) @ 8%

Vanilla Custard (CAP) @ 5%

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA) @ 2%

Joy (FA) @ 1%

Marshmallow (TPA) / Other sweetener @ 1%

Flavor Total : 17%

Steep Time: Makes for a fantastic shake and vape (imo) ! Best after 3-5 days though!

Looks like a good cin custard recipe to me. Bakery cin is one of my fav profiles so i can tell u from experience that graham cracker (cap or tfa clear) pairs very well to bring out the bakery notes in the cin flavors (cap cin danish swirl is good too). Use grahams low to add more of a grainy feel, low at like 1-2.5%. Also flv rich cinnamon is a very unique cinnamon to use as the main cin flavor. It has much more depth which can be distracting if used incorrectly. One very important note of mine is to add distilled water at 1% or less. I found this out while trying to clone sugar drizzle and noticed it had distilled water in the ingrediants, tried it and it made a world of difference. Give something like this a try and lemme know what you think. It's a very tasty expirament in early stages. I think I should slightly lower marsh and even more slightly lower graham for less dryness. Raise sug cookie to like 1.5-2. And maybe then add more cin (probly gonna use jus the tiniest amnt amnt of rich cin like a % that equals out to a drop or two per 30ml

Thanks for trying the mix! I haven't used tfa marshmallow or FW Kiwi but I'd imagine it's similar. The lime does mellow after a steep. I also really like lime. Snakadaktal Oil (A homage to Snake Oil by Seduce Juice)

This is something that I've been toying with for the past two weeks. It's my take on the popular pear/coconut/cream combo with a twist.

After vaping a few Snake Oil clones, I started to grow fond of the combo. However I quickly realised it was lacking that little extra oomph.

So after playing around with a few different fruits, I settled on lime. It's tropical, adds that little bit of zing and helps elevate the combo into something different.

Snake Oil is probably using Bavarian instead of Whipped Cream but I feel like a lighter cream fitted the bill more. The addition of Coconut Extra gives it that "coat your mouth feeling" that Snake Oil is notorious for.

The fruit base is just me playing around with Kiwi and Fuji until I found something that could perfectly accent the pears.

I have to stress that the Inawera Lime is CRUCIAL. It can't be subbed. Inawera Limetka is probably the most zestiest lime out there. It cuts through all the cream and fruits with ease at 1%.

INW Pear - 3%

FA Pear - 1%

TFA Pear - 1%

FA Fuji - 1.5%

FA Kiwi - 0.5%

TFA Whipped Cream - 4%

TFA Coconut Extra - 1.5%

INW Limetka - 1%

Mix at 70/30.

Any subs for the INW limetka?

1 points

by thedirtyprojectoralmost 9 years agoMixologist

No unfortunately. INW Limetka is probably the best lime out there. I understand the hype now. I always hear people talk about tanginess and zestiness when describing certain lime flavors but I've always been let down. Not with INW Limetka. The hype is real. It's almost sour, and is probably the closest to a real sour lime. Get it, you definitely won't regret picking it up.

All credit for this recipe goes to /u/grant_hatcher. Without him posting Feeling Peachy, I would have never gotten to enjoy this little rendition.

Peachy Creamy

This recipe was heavily inspired by Grant's recipe. The recipe received a bit of attention, but not nearly enough IMO because it is amazing, and I'm posting this skirt in case anyone missed it. Be sure to check out the original too, but I made a few tweaks based on my inventory and really enjoyed it. (I don't even care much for peach)

Ingredient | Percentage ---|--- TFA Juicy Peach | 4% FA White Peach | 2% FW Bavarian Cream | 4% TFA Dragonfruit | 2% CAP Sweet Strawberry | 2% CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl | 1% FLV Sweet Coconut | 0.5%

Steep 5 days.

I don't have much for notes other than the balance of peaches and cream is on point. I don't taste the dragonfruit or strawberry, but I feel they really help shape the peach flavor into something amazing. It has the slightest note of cinnamon, but it's subtle enough to not stand in the way of anything. The coconut enhances the creaminess even further, but doesn't really bring any coconut taste to the party.

ATF Link if you have the ingredients and you're down to enjoy this beauty.

Any sub for FLV coconut?

2 points

Maybe a different coconut or a lighter cream. FA Almond might even do the trick at 0.5%. It's more of a textural accent than a taste IMO.

let me start off with saying i had yet to find an "and cream" that i actually liked until i mixed this. the peaches and Bavarian cream blend together really well and the CDS cuts through them with just the right amount of presence to say "hey how you doing there?" without overtaking the whole vape.

Bravo.

i did sub tfa whipped cream for FLV sweet coconut being 1. i didn't have it because 2. i hate anything that even resembles coconut.

2 points

by wh1skeyk1ngalmost 9 years agoThanks for reading this flair

Meh, Grant's original recipe used sweet coconut and I happened to have it. It is more of a textural additive than a coconut flavor here. I don't care much for coconut either, but I don't taste it in there. Also, no shame in not buying into FLV's overpriced line of flavors. :)

by goldfish18almost 9 years agoWinner of the 1st DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

I've had a major sweet tooth lately so I wanted my ice cream sweeter than normal and I figured that was fitting since peppermint ice cream with candy cane bits is really sweet. To me, FW's version is sweeter than TFA's, but anytime I want an ice cream, I can't not have TFA's version in there so I went with both. My thinking was that I enjoy both versions so why not combine them? Do you not like one of them or have you had a bad experience combining the two?

I'm one of the unfortunate few (or many) that suffer from TFA VBIC peppertitis. No matter how much I try, my mind and palette are already conditioned to taste black pepper the minute I get a whiff of it. So yeah, I was hoping mixing it with FW would sorta pacify or negate it.

This is great. While I was dusting off FW Candy Cane I also whipped up a a different spin on this recipe. I like the combination of TFA Bavarian with TFA French Vanilla Deluxe so I mixed this up.

6% FW Candy Cane

1.5% TFA Bavarian Cream

1.5% TFA French Vanilla Deluxe

0.3% Sweetener (optional but recommended)

It's a bit more subtle and the Candy Cane could be bumped up to 8-10% I always feel like VBIC is really heavy and I get fatigued by it, even if it's a great flavor.

And there goes my recipe virginity, it wasn't original of anything but hey it's a start.

Horchapple

 • CAP horchata: 2.5%

 • CAP cinnamon danish swirl: 2%

 • FA Fuji: 3%

 • TFA strawberry ripe: 2%

 • FA meringue: 2%

 • FA fresh cream: .5%

This recipe was the one I entered into the mixxed competition. I got cap horchata in the mail just before the first round was announced and I thought it would fit nicely in with the Apple and cinnamon.

There really isn't a whole lot to explain here that hasn't already been said. The cinnamon in cds is very light for a horchata, and could definitely benefit from some additional flavors, but personally I like realllly faint cinnamon in a vape so i only used CDS.

The meringue at that percentage is for the sugary milk component and the addition of fresh cream boosts that.

At the time of the competition I didn't have JF Fuji, so I went with FA's offering. At the higher percentages it's a bit sharp for me, so I decided to use TFA strawberry ripe not for its strawberry flavor, but for the Ethyl Maltol that it has in it. That EM helps to round out the Apple and bring even more sweetness to the mix.

That about sums it up, I had a lot of fun developing this recipe. I wouldn't call myself new, but I also wouldn't call myself an expert mixer. Some of the stuff you guys came up with for this contest is blowing my mind, I'm proud to be among this community full of all you great artists. I came up with something that tastes great to me and has been a delightful fall vape, and I have all of you great folks to thank for that. Good luck to all of you in the top 12, can't wait to see what you crazy fools come up with!

EDIT

I have expanded on this version since the end of the contest. The version I am now vaping adds 1% CAP Vanilla custard v1 and swapped JF for the FA fuji. I kind of wish I went with this version for the contest because it is way more authentic but hey thats life.

Every year for the holidays, my girlfriend makes a cranberry shortbread that completely destroys my ability to control my food intake. I'm generally pretty okay taking one cookie or one bit of food off the table and being good with that, but not with these. They're like crack. Every year I also try to replicate them in a vape. This year has been the closest so far.

Equinox

Ingredient|% :---|---: Biscuit (INAWERA)|1.25 Cookie (Biscotto) (FA)|1.5 Cranberry (Flavorah)|2 Golden Butter (CAP)|0.4 Holy Vanilla (DIY)|1 Nut Mix (FA)|0.5 Walnut (FA)|1

Flavor total: 7.65%

Remember to rate it at e-liquid-recipes.com!

Shortbread: The biscuit/cookie combo got me pretty close to what I wanted in the shortbread base, but it lacked a little soft butter so CAP Golden Butter was the answer to give us a soft shortbread biscuit style base.

Cranberry: FLV was a no brainer here. I tried CAP first but it's weird and plastic tasting, and not very strong. At 2% it isn't present right away, I've noticed this flavor needs a steep to stand out a bit.

Walnut/Nut Mix: There's little bits of walnut throughout the whole thing, but FA Walnut isn't strong enough to shine on it's own without getting weird. I took a little help from FA Nut Mix to help it all come through the final flavor.

Steep time is 1 week minimum, 2 weeks preferred.

This one is a result of theory-crafting and I feel that it provides a solid example of some useful tools.

R U Berry Jelly

Flavor | % ---|--- INW Rhubarb | 0.5 FA Raspberry | 2 CAP Jelly Candy | 2 TFA Dragonfruit | 0.5 INW Shisha Strawberry | 2

The result is a rhubarb-berry jelly candy. Not a gummy candy, but a soft version of a pectin-based candy. More tart than sweet, INW Rhubarb + FA Raspberry is a fantastic combo and is the star of the show. CAP Jelly Candy provides the base texture for the recipe that holds the flavors in a sort of suspended, jelly state. INW Shisha Strawberry comes in here for some needed sweetness. I chose Shisha Strawberry above others because it has some jam-like properties that I felt would lend themselves very well to the mix. TFA Dragonfruit is used to help everything blend together appropriately.

My current favourite in my rotation is making me feel summery, despite it being rather chilly here:

The PM

Ingredient|% :---|---: Apricot (CAP)|2 Butterscotch (FA)|1 Cereal 27 (CAP)|0.5 DX Peach (Juicy) (TPA)|2 Lemon Meringue Pie v2 (CAP)|2 Meringue (FA)|2.5 Nectarine (TPA)|2

Flavor total: 12%

Edit: (oops, forgot to add flavour notes)

The Apricot (CAP)/DX Peach (Juicy)/Nectarine (TPA) combo provides a robust, bright peach throughout the vape.

The Butterscotch provides a hint of caramelised sugar, while the Cereal 27 combines with the crust element of the Lemon Meringue Pie to provide a crumbly, subtle hint of graininess. This is what makes this recipe something I keep coming back too: it's hard to describe but it's a bit like having a bit of fluff on the carpet that you keep catching out of the corner of your eye and thinking 'Spider! EEEEK!... Wait, no... it's not'. It keeps the flavour interesting to me.

The lemon in the Lemon Meringue Pie provides an extra sharpness that helps to keep the peach flavour from being softened too much by the meringue.

The meringue in the Lemon Meringue Pie, and the meringue by itself provides a full fluffy sweetness on which the peach flavours rest.

##Winter MochaMint

| Ingredient | % | |---------------------|-------| | FLV Arabian Tobacco | 0.66% | | FLV Milk Chocolate | 2.25% | | FLV Creme de Menthe | 1.25% | | FA Tiramisu | 0.33% |

Ratio: 20PG/80VG
Steep: Pretty good straight away, but give the the tobacco ~3-5 days to mellow out a bit.

I've been in to tobaccos/earthy flavors lately and wanted to do a winter-time vape. When I got the FLV Arabian Tobacco in I immediately thought of the ol' Camels I used to smoke back in the day and it brought me back. I always enjoyed their exotic blends; unfortunately their presence waned shortly after I picked up smoking (bastids). The first one I had tried and one of my favorites was the Winter MochaMint, which was basically just a camel with a touch of chocolate, a light mint, and hint of coffee.

Flavor Notes

FLV Arabian Tobacco -- A very bright and earthy cigarette style tobacco flavor, reminiscent of a Camel or, well, an Arabian Tobacco. It's got kind of "hay" like notes, definitely an interesting one. I've found this one to be kind of fickle with its acceptable ranges. Too high and (although the flavor was nice and forward) I found myself gagging or getting nauseous, too low and it wasn't present enough for the recipe. I initially brought it down to 0.75%, and that was just slightly too high; I then brought it down to 0.5% and then it wasn't present enough. After moving to 0.66% I found this was a great range for the flavor.

FLV Milk Chocolate -- Provides a medium chocolate that doesn't taste fake or too creamy to make the pairing. It also doesn't get gritty or overpower other flavors so it is a great fit here.

FLV Creme de Menthe -- A mellow menthol that is somewhat creamy/smooth and kind of hints toward chocolate, although I'm not sure if there's actually in here. I'm not real big on menthol or mint, and this one is just mild enough to give that slight minty tinge I was looking for. I originally went with peppermints, but it was a little too bright and distracting.

FA Tiramisu -- Just a subtle coffee-esque note, one that isn't too musty or straight up coffee, more like a light coffee dusting.

I may mess with it in the future, but I really like where it's at right now and it's satisfying my mixer's urge.

Love your recipes, but I hate buying high-priced FLV flavorings. I'm fine with paying INW premium, but FLV doesn't quite fall in the same category for the most part. Rich Cinnamon, Butterscotch, and Blueberry Muffin are the only ones I plan to keep in stock when they run out. Haven't been able to get my hands on Mango for about 6 months now, decided to give up and got TFA Philippine Mango + CAP Sweet Mango and called it good.

Yeah I can understand that, I think for me knowing I'm getting 15mL and that the potency is as high as they usually are that it'll last me a good long while; I still haven't needed to re-up on any of the concentrates I've gotten from them (running way low on Cream though). It also helps that I get wholesale pricing so it's about the same as buying a Capella flavor to

Hi guys, I'm fairly new to the vaping/diy scene so please feel free to comment on how you find my following recipes. This is my first tobacco/menthol recipes which are very simple but enjoyable. Well at least to me that is. Main reason why I mixed these concoctions is to get my wife away from stinkies. She smokes Camel Double with Purple and her first reaction was "Wow".

Harmenthol

Am4A (INAWERA) @ 4%

Harvest Berry (CAP) @ 4%

Menthol liquid (TFA) @ 0.5% / 2-3 drops per 10ml

Very smooth menthol with a tease of Harvest Berry on exhale.

Be2T

Am4A (INAWERA) @ 4%

Black Cherry (TFA) @3 %

Menthol liquid (TFA) @ 0.5% / 2-3 drops per 10ml

I've tested both always starting with the Harvest Berry and then the Black Cherry cause the BC is more overpowering than the HB. Tastes is subjective tho but once I vape the Be2T I get a burst of menthol and BC on the first exhale like "Holy S@%#" but smooths out after vaping it a few times.

English is not my 1st language so hope it makes sense.

My JUUL Mint Clone

*INW Mix Mint - 3.5%

*INW Menthol Tobacco - 1%

*INW Eucalyptus w/ Mint - 0.6%

Unfortunately, I have to go from memory on my notes. I live in a part of East TN that had a really crappy few days, and I no longer have any notes due to some "technical difficulties".

After trying combinations of several mints-CAP Cool Mint, TPA and FW Peppermint, FW Spearmint, NN Minty Menthol, NN Menthol Tobacco, LA Creme de Menthe, Koolada etc- I just couldn't get that proper doublemint flavor AND recreate the cold-ish inhale of the Juul juice. Koolada, surprisingly wouldn't tackle the cool inhale.

I figured they have to use a small % of flavor relative to the flavor intensity for such a small device, and that led me to INW. I played with Mix Mint and Menthol Tobacco individually, as well as combined them into previous recipes. Mix Mint has the main flavor, the doublemint gum taste. INW Menthol Tobacco at this low % brings just that bit of salty, earthy mentholated taste that takes this from being straight gum/toothpaste to an intriguing combination of mints, one that in this device seems to change every few hits.

It wasn't until I lazily put a few drops of Eucalyptus w/Mint into an old recipe that it hit me. THIS is that cooling effect, and part of the taste I'm missing!
With these 3, it just came down to playing with %'s. I'm sure people will prefer less or more of the Eucalyptus. Also, I used NN Smooth VG nic salts at 50mg/ml in the final mix. From max VG to 80/20 seems to work well. Part of the Juul experience is the drag. That is relative not only to the viscosity, but HOW you refill the device, although that is out of the scope of this post. (Feel free to ask though).

The only thing I didn't get to try was FW DoubleMint. I recently recieved a bottle of it, but no longer have that. Once I get a chance to play with it (it'll be a while) I'll update if necessary. Hopefully some of you who enjoy the Juul as much as I do can find use of this, and for the others, well, Happy Holidays! Count your blessings, be thankful, and tell those close to you that you love them!

FW DoubleMint (DoubleMint Gum at BCV) is what my wife swears by, though 7-10% is required. It's weird, though, that you get doublemint from Mix Mint -- I get more Eucalyptus than doublemint from it at 1/5th the percentage you're using. Since having bought a 120 of FW DMG from DIY Vapor Supply, there's a fairly distinct difference from what I used to get from BCV. BCV's 10ml bottles tasted more like the gum, whereas DIYVS's 120 tastes like the gum but supplemented/spiked with a lot more Eucalyptus. If BCV had larger sizes, I'd buy it, but I got frustrated in buying such small volumes in high quantities.

Sorry for your loss, man... My family vacations in Cobbly Nob every year, for the better part of the last 40 years. It's a beautiful area and my heart sinks every time I think about the losses that area has suffered. I hope recovery for you and yours is swift...

Any reason why you opted for sugar cookie in this recipe? Does it help with the burnt brown sugar top layer? I'm working on a brûlée as well and I have been toying with the idea of including sugar cookie.

1 points

by CaptnPorkyalmost 9 years ago

In my experience there are two types of creme brulee. On one the top layer of sugar is burnt and the other the top layer of sugar is more toasted. The "toasted" version is my favorite and tastes much more sugary than when the sugar topping is burnt/dark brown. It should also be noted that there is a misconception that the top layer is burnt brown sugar when it's typically carmelized white sugar. So, yes, I think it does help with top sugar layer. I used it at the higher percentage because I wanted that extra sugary note that I love to be there on the "toasted" style.

What's wrong with 20%? (actually you have 19% shown) Mix at whatever % works for you. The 'less is more' crowd will adjust accordingly.

Absolutely, I know what you mean. Is because of the CAP NY cheesecake isn't ? If you use it at less than 2% you have problem... need steeping though cause if you shake and vape taste a little funky but after 4 days it adds a creamy base to it

Another one to throw out there. Link to [ELR recipe] (http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/1072985/Buttermint). This is my version of those pastel colored chalky mint candies you see put out in a dish on holidays and weddings. It's a very light peppermint that is a touch buttery and smooth thanks to VBIC and Vanilla Swirl.

You can make this with or without the sweetener but it is a candy. Live a little! And yes, I'm going to make you order mint candy.

Buttermint
Bavarian Cream (TPA) 1%
Cotton Candy (10% EM) (TPA) 1%
Marshmallow (TPA) 1%
Meringue (FA) 0.5%
Mint Candy (TPA) 5%
Sweetener 0.75%
Toasted Marshmallow (TPA) 1%
Torrone (FA) %1. Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (CAP) 3%
Vanilla Swirl 3%

Mint candy is a very light flavored peppermint. It's not very strong at all in my opinion. It's just right for this recipe.

Be sure to rate on ELR if you mix this up.

Hey all, I'm pretty new to mixing. I primarily got into it to try and replace some of my favorite commercial juices so I don't break the bank. But tinkering with recipes is more addicting than tinkering with coil builds so that might not be the case in the end :P

Here's my first real recipe, aiming to replace Adirondack's McKinley as my ADV (not trying to be 1:1) ~

DIY Caramel Chai Latte

<Brown Sugar> (<TPA>) @ 1%
<Chai Tea (Spiced)> (<TPA>) @ 3%
<Cinnamon Danish Swirl> (<CAP>) @ 2%
<French Vanilla Creme> (<TPA>) @ 2%
<RY4 Double> (<TPA>) @ 3%

mixed at 70/30. I'm only 4 days into steeping and it's tasting really good, but I'd like some more experienced mixers' opinions. If anyone would be willing to mix up a small bottle of this and give it a try after a 4-7 days of steeping, please let me know so we can keep in touch :) I don't have a ton of flavors, only made an initial investment of about 90 bucks to get into DIY, then made another 80 buck purchase of different flavors for xmas. Any criticism is welcome!

Thanks all, happy holidays & new year!

Cool mint Vanilla

TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 3% TFA Peppermint 2% TFA Spearamint 0.25%

I mixed this at 80VG 20PG, 1% Nic VG based.

I will say that the Peppermint and Spearmint are syringe killers, so take necessary precautions for measuring those flavors.

The original Flamingo recipe was the first decent mix that I made when I started DIY a couple years ago. I haven't made the original in quite awhile so I decided mix it up. Turns out I really wasn't feeling it anymore, the peach flavoring was harsh and the coconut was way too overwhelming so I decided to give it a remix, now it's in my ADV rotation.

Albino

 • Strawberry (TFA) - 5.5%
 • Pina Colada (TFA) - 3%
 • White Peach (FA) - 2%
 • Strawberry (FA) - 1.5%
 • Peach (INW) - 0.75%
 • Coconut (FA) - 0.5%
 • Smooth (TFA) - 0.25%
 • Sweetener (TFA) - 1 drop per 30ml

30pg/70vg

Shake and vape certified!

TFA Strawberry & FA Strawberry: A lot of fruit recipes incorporate strawberry somewhere in the mix and this one is no different. I used two different strawberry flavorings for layering purposes hoping to achieve a fuller, rounded flavor.

FA White Peach & Inawera Peach: White peach is amazing, plain and simple. As with a lot of flavorings, certain flavors need help in achieving a full well rounded taste. That's where Inawera Peach come in. It fills in the what the white peach is missing.

TFA Pina Colada & FA Coconut: The original recipe calls for TFA Coconut Extra and anyone who has used it knows how badly it can turn out if you use too much or if you cant stand the taste of sun-tan lotion. I decided to go a different route here. Pina Colada has a really nice coconut tone with a very light pineapple note which works very well with this mix. I also added a touch of FA Coconut to accent it.

TFA Smooth & TFA Sweetener (Optional): Both of these additives are optional but i think they serve their purpose in this recipe. Sometimes peach flavorings can be a little harsh on the throat and top notes can be a little strong after awhile. TFA Smooth helps blend all the flavors together nicely while eliminating the harshness and also adds to a "thicker" mouthfeel of vapor. TFA Sweetener is used for a dash of sweetness because I feel most peach flavors taste slightly under-ripe but I wanted it more ripe tasting and it works well. I like it a 1drop per 30ml. Enjoy!

For some odd reason, I've been in the Christmas-y flavor mood, so I've been working on a few Christmas recipes. They're pretty standard but I enjoy how they're coming out. Some are just reworks of other people's work, and one is still kind of a WIP but I feel like I can post it now. If you want more notes and info on these go to the ATF Links posted on the side of each recipe.

Gingerbread Cookie ATF Link

MFG | Flavor | % ---|------|- TFA | Acetyle Pyrazine | .25 JF/TFA | Bavarian Cream | 2 INW | Biscuit | 1 TFA | Brown Sugar | .5 FA | Cookie | 1.5 TFA | Gingerbread | 1 CAP | Sugar Cookie | 3

True Pumpkin Spice ATF Link

MFG | Flavor | % ---|------|- TFA | Chai Tea | 1 FA | Cream Fresh | 2 TFA | Gingerbread | 1.5 TFA | Holiday Spice | .25 FA | Madagascar (Vanilla Classic) | 1 HS | Pumpkin Pie | 5 FW | Pumpkin Spice | 4 FLV | Rich Cinnamon | .15 CAP | Sweet Cream | 1

White Chocolate Peppermint Bark WIP ATF

MFG | Flavor | % ---|------|- TFA | Acetyl Pyrazine | .25 FA | Almond | 1.5 FA | Bourbon (Vanilla Bourbon) | 1 TFA | Peppermint | 1 FA | Torrone | 1 FW | White Chocolate | 4.5

I definitely want some feedback on the last one, because I don't have much experience with Peppermint, but it definitely is tasty as it is. I've considered dropping down the peppermint to .75% but in my bottle I've mixed up I kept it at 1%, and it's pretty tasty after a couple of days.

If you're open to suggestions? FA Peppermint carries a very nice peppermint flavor but doesn't have that punch and overpower like TFA. If you have it, give it a try. Im gonna try it with FA but I appreciate you sparking my interest in this profile.

2 points

by drumbtralmost 9 years ago

Hmm, interesting. I bought this flavor like last year, not really sure why but I'm just now getting around to using it. Let me know how it is, I may have to score some FA, but one of my friends thought it was pretty good, just super strong on the peppermint lol. I'm really hoping it dies down a bit, but if not I'm gonna reduce it, maybe even to .5, but I think .75 might be a good spot to be pepperminty enough.

1 points

by WickAndWirealmost 9 years agoMixologist

Its been a minute since I've used TFA because I found FA lol, but it works. TFA is definitely more a crisp, straight to the punch extracted peppermint, whereas FA almost has a creamy backnote to it and is more pleasant imo. Definitely throw it on a list.

Hi there, I created this recipe while experimenting with CAP Funnel cake. My goal was to try and replicate a deep fried banana fritters flavour profile, while also trying to add a nice vanilla ice cream to the end, after many iterations I feel I finally achieved my goal.

Without further ado, I give you...

Bunyols de Plàtan:

MFG | Flavour | Percentage :---------:|:----------:|:----------: FA | Bano | 3.00% CAP | Funnel Cake | 6.00% TFA | Vanilla Bean Ice Cream | 3.00% FA | Meringue | 1.00% TFA | Marshmellow | 1.00% Cp | Bavarian Cream | 1.00%

Flavour Notes:

The Fritter

FA Banò (banana) - I used this because it's a really nice natural banana flavour, no candy notes here. At 3% it adds a nice yellow banana flavour, a creaminess, all without being overpowering.

CAP Funnel Cake - This is the main star of the recipe, When in the experimentation stage I started at 2%. At such a low percentage it was never really able to give off the fried flavour I really needed. Using Funnel Cake at 6% really adds that crispy, battered, deep fried flavour with a nice powdered sugar feel on the exhale.

TPA VBIC - This does two jobs here, it adds the vanilla to the fritters, but also starts off the ice cream with the thickness and creaminess one craves.

FA Meringue - Taking a cue from Wayne Walkers (ENYAWREKLAW) Cuprian here. The Meringue adds a thickness to the ice cream, and also adds some nice buttery notes to the fritters.

TPA Marshmellow - The Marshmellow is what gives the ice cream the mouth feel, at 1% it allows the Funnel Cake to do it's thing and give the recipe it's overall deep fried flavour.

CAP Bavarian Cream - Mixed at 1% gives the ice cream a nice creamy boost.

I mix this at 70/30, as that's my preferred ratio, however feel free to mix at your own preference.

Pretty great as a shake n' Vape, but even better after 7 days steep.

I would really love some feedback on this recipe as it's the first one I've been game enough to post publicly.

Cookies for Christmas!

Lemon Frosted Almond Shortbread

 • Biscuit (INW) 1%
 • Lemon (INW) 1%
 • Marzipan (FA) 2%
 • Meringue (FA) 1%
 • Torrone 1% (FA)
 • Sugar Cookie (CAP) 3%
 • Vanilla Swirl (TPA) 1%
 • Toasted Marshmallow (TPA) 1%

Biscuit - brings that shortbread bakery base to the party.

Sugar Cookie - rounds the bakery base with buttery sugary goodness.

Marzipan - brings a touch of almond elegance and depth to the shortbread

Vanilla Swirl - provides the body for the frosting

Meringue - helps fluff up the frosting and provide a touch of sweetness.

Lemon - flavors that frosting base with a bit of brightness to bring everything together.

EDIT formatting. This is a work in progress. Suggestions welcome! Shake and vape is fine. Better after a day.

EDIT 2 Reducing the Biscuit in this. After a steep it's overwhelming some nuances.

EDIT 3 so I've found that right balance finally after steeping a couple batches for a few days. It keeps that biscuit bite but not so hard now.

EDIT 4 adjustments to the percentages. The fourth and final batch has just the right balance of cookie, almond and biscuit.

> EDIT 2 Reducing the Biscuit in this. After a steep it's overwhelming some nuances.

Before I got down this far, I was already preparing to say, "Too much biscuit for me, but I like the way you think." I have a soft spot for bakery + citrus even though they are hard to do, or maybe in part because they are hard do to do, and all the other things you're doing here look good to me, even if they aren't the %'s I would use. One of the reasons they're hard to work with is that a steep often changes them quite a bit, so give it a couple of weeks and see what happens. How much are you planning to reduce the biscuit in your next batch? I would switch the %'s of biscuit and sugar cookie. A little biscuit goes a long way.

2 points

by kindgroundalmost 9 years ago

Yeah after about 2 days steep it's too much. I vaped it the day of and after mixing and it was great. On that third day it smacked me in the face. I tried switching to some fruit vapes and all I could taste for an hour was Biscuit! I do love the cookie graniness that Biscuit brings.

I reduced it by 1% down to 3% total in my post and have a batch I'm steeping. I also have another batch where I reduced Biscuit to 2% and raised sugar cookie to 2%.

We'll see how it goes. What I love about this recipe is that it comes in layers as you taste it. It's just like eating the cookie. First you get that bright creamy sweet lemon frosting. Then the cookie comes flying in underneath and lingers nicely.

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

##Sweet Strawberry Cream v2

| Ingredient | % | |---------------------|-------| | INW Shisha Strawberry | 3% | | TFA Strawberry Ripe | 2% | | FA Red Touch | 1% | | TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream | 3% |
| TFA Vanilla Bean Gelato | 2% | | FLV Frosting | 0.5% | | FLV Sweet Cream | 0.5% |

Another iteration on the Strawberry & Cream, this one I am growing quite fond of. I wanted to find a replacement for the LA Cream Cheese Icing since it wasn't quite pulling the weight I wanted to, and I was looking for a little bit more of a strawberry flavor.

I subbed in the FLV Frosting and TFA VBG in place of the LA CCI -- IMO it tastes as good as LA CCI smells

Swapped the %s on Shisha SB and SB Ripe since shisha is more pronounced and upped the Red Touch a hair since the sub wasn't as conflicting

In my experiments FLV Cream and FLV Sweet Cream are pretty interchangeable (very little differences between the two but they are there), but I have more Sweet Cream in my stash so I decided to go with that =P

So I tested this after a week and it was just, okay. I put it in my steeping box and forgot about it. Now, over a month later, I decided to give it a try. I was blown away. The PB really stands out in front. The chocolate shows itself on the exhale and almost gives me the impression of chocolate melting in your mouth.

Peanut Butter Cup

MFG | Flavor | % | ----|--------|---| TFA | Peanut Butter| 3.5| FLV | Peanut Butter | 1 | INW | Milk Chocolate | 3.5| FLV | Milk Chocolate | 1| FLV | Milk & Honey | .5 | TFA | Bavarian Cream | 1|

Steep Time- This will need at least 2 weeks but, as I said, I tested after a month. So, if your not happy after the 2 weeks, maybe try the full month.

Caution - Both chocolate and PB can get funky if using high wattage and low builds. My build is .4ohm at 45 watts.

Sorry guys! Despite the fact that I started working on this one in September, it required too many revisions and lengthy steeps for me to roll it out by late November as I had intended.

But, the way I see it is this; once the holidays are over, and there's nothing but the bitter bones of undecorated winter haunted by white walkers and depression as far as the eye can see, you can pull this out of your steeping cabinet at the end of January, and maybe it's enough to jingle your festivus bells a little. :-)

Snog – Homestyle Egg Nog From Scratch

(TPA) Brown Sugar: 0.25%
(FW) Hazelnut: 1%
(TPA) Holiday Spice: 0.50%
(CAP) Horchata: 2%
(FA) Jamaican Rum: 2%
(FLV) Rich Cinnamon: 0.30%
(CAP) Vanilla Custard V1: 6%

12.05% Total Flavor, 70/30 VG/PG & Mandatory 1 Month Steep

Quick Notes
The Nog: (CAP) Vanilla Custard/(CAP) Horchata/(FW) Hazelnut The vanilla custard is the obvious heavy, eggy base for the nog. Horchata adds a nice, cooked-in cinnamon note while thinning it just enough to turn it from a custard to a beverage. Hazelnut just makes it malty-creamy.
The Spices: (TPA) Holiday Spice/(FLV) Rich Cinnamon/(TPA) Brown Sugar
Holiday spice is the perfect freshly micro-planed nutmeg sprinkle on top backed by an expired, sad, desiccated cinnamon salvaged from the forgotten depths of your spice cabinet. We add just enough rich cinnamon to correct that shitty cinnamon note while still allowing that absolutely necessary (and good!) nutmeg note to come through. The brown sugar adds an additional touch of sweetness I didn't think it would need considering the final ingredient, but, I've tried it without, and it's just not as balanced.
The Spike: (FA) Jamaican Rum
I've only ever had egg nog with brandy or bourbon, but FA Brandy wouldn't have fit here, and FA Kentucky Bourbon couldn't have lent the same brown sugar and spice note that Jamaican rum does. It's the perfect ingredient to spike our nog in this case, though it loses all hint of booziness after the long steep.

Happiest of holidays and the biggest of thanks to everyone in this, my very favorite subreddit. It's been a pleasure mixing with you in 2016, and I can't wait to see what you mad geniuses come up with in 2017! Love yooze! <3

We love you too and hope you have super happy holidaze as well!!!

I also love almost everything about this recipe post. "Bitter bones of undecorated winter haunted by white walkers and depression" and "expired, sad, desiccated cinnamon salvaged from the forgotten depths." Beautiful writing, as always. I'm so envious I might break my pen.

But probably not beautiful enough to convince me to buy the FA Condensed Milk I would need to mix it up. The one time someone made me something with it at 1.25% might have ruined me on that one. Admittedly 0.5% with all these spices might be a completely different story, and ordinarily I would trust your sense of taste as much if not more than my own, but... I still have nightmares about rancid movie theater popcorn butter. Did you ever single-flavor test this one? At around 1.25%? Please say you haven't, because if you tried it all by itself that high and it tasted great and you have no idea what I'm on about rancid fake butter, I'll have to look askance at all your mixes into perpetuity (while still admiring the gorgeous adjectives, of course).

Or tell me you did try FA Condensed Milk standalone at 1.25%ish and projectile vomited, but still knew if you dropped it down low enough it would perfect this, and it did, so I can be as in awe your ability to take a gross ingredient and make something lovely out of it as I am of the way you turn a phrase.

TLDR; RuntDastardy = <3 but FA Condensed Milk probably, in most cases at least, but maybe not this one = NO.

OMG! I am so happy you asked!

...And, I swear to god, I am not typing this with an ounce of candy-ass, faux-saccharine sarcasm! As you know, I love you, and value your feedback beyond measure. Especially considering you are super-right in this case.

FA Condensed Milk is a horrible, problematic flavor! Dis bitch... dis bitch right here is the entire reason I couldn't get this recipe to "do right" for so friggin' long. Honestly, I can't even justify my use of it other than angry, brute-force will.

It reminds me of the time I was hell-bent on getting my hands on some vintage saddle shoes, and I actually found some! But... in 1/2 size smaller than my ghat-damn feet. Did I ram my poor dogs into that unforgivingly stiff leather and wear them compulsively for a year? You betcha! Did I reap the agony of cramped toes and skinned-visible achilles tendons? You betcha'. Because I am a stupid monster.

In the context of this recipe, I started at 1.5% FA Condensed Milk, and that first hit nearly made me squirt vomit out my mouth and nose. I honestly thought I had a bad batch (I bought it in November 2015 when I first started mixing, and didn't use it until September 2016, so, you can see why I thought that) Against my reservations, I reordered this unholy flavor and found, nope, that's actually what it tastes like. Warts and all.

I started bringing it down in increments, and found 0.50% in this case not only workable, but, kind of essential. That said, and especially now that you've pointed it out, I feel like a dick saddling people with a flavor that might not work in anything else.

Which reminds me... TPA Holiday Spice is an equally atrocious niche flavor that has no other use, but, who the fuck else makes a proper nutmeg flavor?!

So, maybe skip the FA Condensed Milk and bump the CAP Horchata up by 0.50% and hope for the best? Or sub FA Condensed Milk with TPA Dairy/Milk at 0.50% and hope for the best? Honestly, this is wild speculation, so I don't know how either will work. Worst case scenario; leave out the FA Condensed Milk entirely, because CAP VC V1 at 6% is heavy enough on it's own, and might not need it?

I only don't know because I've never tried, because once I get an idea in my head, I will ram my foot into that shoe no matter how poorly it fits.

2 points

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

You just went to court on trial for using FA Condensed Milk and successfully acquitted yourself using the little-known but wickedly successful ill-fitting vintage saddle shoe defense. I'm definitely going to collect every single one of these flavors and try this out (I already have that Holiday Spice beast, so I might as well, no other use for it to date). Probably in time for next Christmas, considering I'm still way back on Lmn# in my quest to try many RuntDastardly recipes in chronological order.

3 points

by RuntDastardlyalmost 9 years agoBursting with dorky enthusiasm for mixing

FWIW: I didn't get "rancid movie theater popcorn butter" from FA Condensed Milk, as you did, but "dangerous powder mold", which, as a Fangoria-obsessed New England kid who grew up in haunted Victorians and went to tumble-down old cinemas for horror movies, I have a rich and reliable frame of reference for both. FA Condensed Milk is straight-up scary attic dust.

3 points

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

We might meet in the middle a bit here, "mold" is a better description than "rancid" for what I tasted. Moldy movie theater popcorn dust butter?

IDK. It might have had to do with the coconuts and cookie in that one juice I tried with it in there and how they interacted with it, but all I know is that I was intimately familiar with those other flavors (I mean, coconuts and cookies, come on) and FA Condensed Milk 1.25% absolutely ruined them.

MBV Spew without the Ew (the cream). I accidentally made this in one of my bottles when attempting to clone a Blue Dot Convicted Melons line and have to say this is a very tasty rendition of Spew from MBV, almost better even and without the addition of cream I feel like this belongs in the Recipe Thread and not the clone. The Honeydew plays really well with the Honeysuckle and Cherry Blossom to bring out some soft notes while the Kiwi at a low % gives it more of a body and sweetness. I dislike TFA Pear and think it tastes someone extracted apple skin flavor but not the flesh itself. Instead I add Fuji to give it that juicy flavor and TINY hint of apple that does not conflict with the Honeydew and Strawberries. After a day steep the Honeydew calms down and the taste of Spew becomes very apparent. This is my first version of the recipe and I am sure to fine-tune it, however for a first batch its pretty damn close but without the creamy hints, please let me know what you think! Also this is intended for Max VG%, not their 50%PG/50%VG line. 10% flavoring total and gets better the longer you steep it.

<Honeydew>(<TFA>)@1.5%

<Honeysuckle>(<TFA>)@1.5%

<Cherry Blossom>(<TFA>)@1%

<Strawberry>(<TFA>)@2%

<Strawberry Ripe>(<TFA>)@3% (I mixed the percents up with TFA strawberry)

<Fuji Apple>(<FA>)@0.5%

<Kiwi>(<FA>)@1%

Feedback is greatly appreciated as this is my first recipe posting.

Shake and vape certified. I dropped the honeydew to 1%, because it's a bittersweet relationship, and added .5% TFA Watermelon, as it compliments honeydew very well, and vice versa. Regardless, it's not effecting the profile you posted a bunch. Good stuff, thanks.

Thank you! I have some TFA watermelon and I am going to give it a try with the 1% Honeydew you suggested. Greatly appreciated.

Made the new bottle per your recommendations and it's great!

It's the little things haha. I'm gonna mix a v2 with 1-1.5% TFA Toasted Marshmallow. TM adds body, and a slight cream note in the back. As I was going through the bottle, I was missing body, and that nice rounded backend.

I know im going off the path of your original intended profile, but just bouncing ideas

Spew has been my goal to create since I got into DIY, and I never got close. I've been stuck on using Pear and Cantaloupe, but the Cantaloupe always leads to a bubble gum flavor more than anything.

It looks like you're on the right track, and will be getting Cherry Blossom and Honeysuckle to try this out. In the meantime I'll take your base and sub the flavors I don't have with ones I do.

1 points

by Ziserainalmost 9 years ago

I bought TFA pear in an attempt to clone Honeypearries, but I just don't like the flavoring :( I feel like Fuji is much more compatible aromatic-wise with Honeydew and helps make it feel "juicy". Cantaloupe TFA is great but I don't like it mixed with Honeydew, I feel like it bullies other flavors, whenever I mix too much apple I get a "candy rancher-ish" smell. Too much cantaloupe makes it smell sickenly sweet.

I definitely think Honeysuckle belongs here, Cherry Blossom was kind of flavor I dropped in on the spur of the moment.

Also I made a new bottle using LA watermelon @0.5% instead of TFA @0.5% and subbed in Shisha Strawberry in place of TFA strawberry. I have to say it's delicious but the important thing is it's still spew-like albeit better...I think imma call it Zpew or something just as corny.

My Lemon Snapple

INW Cactus .6%

Koolada .5%

FA Lemon Sicily 1%

JF Lemon Juicy 3%

FA Black Tea 1.75%

Started out as a Lemonade but realized how much the black tea/lemon/splash of cactus tastes like lemon Snapple.

Add a lil Koolada because Snapple needs to be cold. If you don't like koolada I'm sure its just dandy without.

Hope y'all enjoy and rate on ATF if ya like it or if you hate it.

A light airy Custard with a deep Oatmeal Cookie note. It reminds me of a cream filled Little Debbie's Oatmeal Cake, only deeper like it's freshly made.

http://i.imgur.com/xzEk590.jpg

Vanilla Cookie Custard (Gmix)

Ingredient|% :---|---: Cream Whipped (FA)|0.8 Holy Vanilla (DIYFS)|1.5 Oatmeal Cookie (SC) (Real Flavors)|1.5 Rich Cinnamon (Flavorah)|0.1 Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)|6

Flavor total: 9.9%

Remember to rate it at e-liquid-recipes.com!

 • Cream Whipped (FA) - This adds the cream note and lighten and fluff the custard giving it a feel of a creamy filling. It also opposes the darker Cinnamon and Cookie notes balancing the lite and dark notes.

 • Holy Vanilla (DIYFS) - Simply put, perfect for this mix. This also adds a lighter note that help keep this from being too heavy and dark. It works very good with the Whipped Cream to create a Cream Filling effect.

 • Oatmeal Cookie (SC) (Real Flavors) aka Oatmeal Cookie (Raw Extracts) (Real Flavors) - This is the only Oatmeal Cookie I have and it is spot on. Paired with FLV Rich Cinnamon it's tastes like a actual Oatmeal Cookie to me. It takes on a dark note in this mix, but it's well balanced against the cream, vanilla and custard notes. If anyone know of better version please let me know.

 • Rich Cinnamon (FLV) - This flavor does the job in deepening the cookie note giving this cookie a bite that make it taste like a real Oatmeal Cookie. The best Cinnamon out there IMO.

 • Vanilla Custard v1 (Cap) - The base, binder and smoother. It brings everything together.

 • The (RF) Raw Extracts are alcohol based and need to breathe at least 24 hrs or you will get a slightly weird off note. I heat the finished mix just a little and shake vigorously and leave uncapped for 24 hrs for the alcohol to dissipate.

 • Rich Cinnamon (FLV) = 1 drop per 30 mls.

 • Steep 3-4 weeks.

This is a fun mix. It really dazzles my palate with berry and melon highlights. Similar to a berry punch, it's just full of flavor... big batch worthy. Blueberry is sometimes tart, but there is no tartness to this at all. I spun this off my Cukeberry Salad mix that has more of a throat hit, which I was hoping to alleviate and it worked out perfectly. It's just a bright happy fruit mix.

Very Berry Melon (Gmix)

Ingredient|% :---|---: Anise (FA)|0.4 Blackberry (MF)|1 Blueberry (Flavorah)|2 Blueberry (MF)|0.6 Liquid Stevia (Pyure)|0.4 Sour Wizard (FA)|0.5 Watermelon (Medine Flower)|0.75

Flavor total: 5.65%

Remember to rate it at e-liquid-recipes.com!

 • Anise (FA) - I like using Anise in low percentages to enhance and sweeten fruit flavors. At this percentage it doesn't give a candy type flavor, it only sweetens and lift the fruit flavors.

 • Blackberry (MF) - There is no tartness to this Blackberry at all. It has a slight sweetness and a very light note for Blackberry. It kinda remind me of a Grape/Blueberry mix. I've had trouble in the past trying to create a Blueberry that I really like. I pair this with Blueberry to get a very good Blueberry note.

 • Blueberry (FLV) & Blueberry (MF) - These two gives the best BB I've tasted. BB FLV isn't a full BB note and BB MF is too much and slightly tart. These two meet in the middle to create a very good BB flavor.

 • Liquid Stevia (Pyure) - I can't praise this sweetener enough. This sweetens and rounds out the rough edges bringing this mix together.

 • Sour Wizard (FA) - I use this to make the fruits pop. I never really used any sours before this one, but now I see why some mixers like to to use sours to enhance fruit flavors. This make the fruit flavors explode in your mouth.

 • Watermelon (Medine Flower) - IMO it's the best Watermelon for DIY use. This takes on a secondary note, but not by much. It pairs perfectly with the BBs. Just the perfect layer to compliment the BBs.

Steep 3-4 weeks... use no heat.

I know, fruit pebbles/fruit loops have been done to death. I agree. But I have some big bottles of FW fruit rings and fruity flakes that I wanted to try and use up so I sat down and put together a recipe. To my amazement it came out REALLY good. The FW flavorings don't have nearly as bad of a pledge note like TFA's offerings, and paired with the usual creams that are in most recipes like this (plus some new ones), it all comes together very well and balanced. If anyone mixes this up I'd love some feedback! I've gotten a lot of thumbs up from local vapers but haven't had any other mixers give it a try.

 • 5% FW fruity flakes
 • 3% FA meringue
 • 1.5% FW fruit rings
 • 1% FW Bavarian cream

Just made a max VG Strawberry & Cream. Pretty dank already after a shake and vape. Heavy on the cream and authentic strawberry comes through nicely.

Here's another recipe I've been working on periodically for the past year or so. I believe I have the cream base exactly where I want it but I'm still tweaking the strawberry, looking to turn it into a strawberry syrup like Hershey's. It's 90% there and I've exhausted most all of my options to get it where I want, maybe someone here will have an idea. Anyway here's Strawberry Milk

 • 2% JF strawberry sweet
 • 2% FLV cream
 • 1.5% FA fresh cream
 • 1% TFA sweetener
 • 1% FA meringue
 • 1% CAP vanilla custard

It needs about 5-7 days for the creams to blend together and become a milky mix. The cap custard gives it a thicker body which I find necessary as just straight creams don't translate well to milk in a vape. I may try adding a little TFA vanilla swirl or some TFA/FA dairy/condensed milk... The smell of them throws me off though. Feedback is appreciated!

by LimeDrivealmost 9 years ago

Maybe try blending multiple strawberry flavorings together to get your desired syrup flavor?

Have you tried steeping the smelly milks a little bit in small test batches?

3 points

by 0ptimusRhymealmost 9 years ago

I'm not a fan of many strawberry flavorings so I haven't tried mixing it with others. I like this one, tfa ripe, and INW shisha. I'll probably try a few version with those mixed in. As for the smelly milks, no, I haven't given them an honest chance and steep. I'll be mixing this weekend so that will get done also.

I wish I could figure out what strawberry is used in Fetti Pop by Confection Vapes or Redbird(not sure who makes it). It's very close to what I'm looking for here.

I used TPA Strawberry/CAP Sweet Strawberry to get strawberry syrup for my McDonald's Strawberry Milkshake, give that TPA one a go (non-Ripe), it's a perfect "fake" strawberry.

I shared this as a self post [here] (https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/5fsogr/barry_manilime_a_raspberry_lemon_lime_recipe/?ref=search_posts) but I've since taken some suggestions and improved and simplified it a bit. It's a great citrus vape if that's your thing. I figured I'd put it here too for posterity.

Berry Manilime

Cactus (INAWERA) 1%
Juicy Lemon (CAP) 1%
Lemon (INAWERA Flavours">INW) 2%

Marshmallow (TPA) 1%
Raspberry (Sweet) (TPA) 1%
Raspberry Concentrate (INW) 1%
Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA) 2%
Sweetener .5% (optional)

You can shake and vape but it's really worth it to wait 5-7 days to let that lemon and Raspberry come together.

6 months ago I tried to nail a profile for my cousin of Chocolate Covered Strawberrys. Could never quite get it to work, trying lots of different combos. With the new INW Milk Chocolate hype and the Chocolate Milkshake recipe I decided to give it another whack. (This would be sort of a mashup of Chocolate Milkshakes! and a smidge of inspiration from Milk was a Rad Choice which is in this VERY THREAD! My test was 30/70 and steeped for 5 days was the best.

Input welcome, this is definitely the best I've gotten so far on this profile.

A magical blend of mango and banana. Ok so recently I purchased this drink that had these two ingredients. And my god was it delicious. DIscovering this flavor pairing is like finding gold. So I wanted to replicate that into a vape and feel I have achieved that.

I think what makes this recipe work is the flavor pairings. Which is important to making a good recipe. Other than that I just balanced the flavors. This recipe could probably be made with other banana and mango flavorings. This is just what I had avalailable to mix with. Mango + banana + dragonfruit should equal deliciousness.

I call it Sniffy D's WCR.
white chocolate (TFA) @ 8%
raspberry (lorann) @ 5%
Sweet Cream (TFA) @ 1.5%

I'm trying to get a peach ring flavour down. So far...

(FA) white peach.............4% (TPA) peach(juicy)............2% (TPA) rasberry(sweet)......4%

I find it's pretty close, maybe as close as can be? Do the percentages look where they should be? I feel I need a tiny citrus punch to have a pretend "sour" taste. I've tried the sour additives and I don't feel they work.

Here's a little something for all this cold weather we've been having. Masala Chai is a simple black milk tea spiced with Chai flavors. Hope you enjoy!

FA Black Tea makes our black tea base. At 3% it's enough to get some of the earthy tea notes while still letting the chai get it's business socks on for some mega deliciousness.

FLV Thai Chai makes a really great concentrated chai base, similar to how traditional chai is brewed as a concentrated tea then thinned with milk. TFA Chai Tea helps step up the spice department to get all those lovely nutmeg/clove notes I love so much in American chai.

DIYFS Holy Vanilla and FA Fresh Cream really tie in the fresh milk body with a little added sweetness from the Holy Vanilla added with the faint malty tones in both to bring some of those frothy milk notes.

A very straightforward, in your face chai tea. Sure to be a favorite for any fan of Chai flavors.

Masala Chai

Ingredient|% :---|---: Black Tea (FA)|3 Chai Tea (TPA)|0.5 Cream Fresh (FA)|1.5 Holy Vanilla (DIYFS)|1.5 Thai Chai (Flavorah)|1.5

Flavor total: 8%

Cherry Secret Sauce

 • Maraschino Cherry (TFA) @ 0.6%
 • Joy (Flavour Art) @ 0.4%
 • Sour (TFA) @ 0.4%
 • Cherry (Flavour Art) @ 0.2%
 • Koolada (TFA) @ 0.2%
 • Arctic Winter (Flavour Art) @ 0.2%

2% Flavor Total

A cherry mint just in time for winter vaping. In my opinion, you can vape it immediately. If you give it time them and let the harshness from the cherry flavorings vent off, you'll be rewarded with a mellower vape.

If you want to convert the recipe to drops, 1 drop:10ml = 0.2% in the recipe.

2 points

by danpt83almost 9 years ago

Recipe looks good, will try it, the drops part seems off, 5 drops 1% of 10ml its 0.1ml so 50 drops are 1ml?

2 points

by rupturedprolapsealmost 9 years ago

I did some dodgy math to be honest. My initial test batch was 55ml and I did everything on the assumption it was 60ml (lazy and simpler to think that way). So it went a little something like :

 • Maraschino Cherry (TFA) @ 3 drops
 • Joy (FA) @ 2 drops
 • Sour (TFA) @ 2 drops
 • Cherry (FA) @ 1 Drops
 • Koolada (TFA) @ 1 Drop
 • Arctic Winter (FA) @ 1 Drop

All per 10ml. I measured from the native bottles (not glass droppers) to be about .12g and used that to reverse engineer it through a calculator to get an approximation of percents. Mixed it up as I was making the initial post and its pretty much identical to the original. Minty, a little carbonation from the sour/cherry combo and a nice nostril burn (if you're into that sort of thing).

 • MF caramel 1
 • TFA graham cracker clear 1
 • FW hazelnut 1
 • INW shisha vanilla 1
 • add 1-1.5 drops of a TA per 10 ml (adjust to taste depending on the strength of your TA and drop size).

Most recently I've been using MF TA, diluted at an unknown ratio in PG because it's pain-in-the-ass thick. Dilution came out to roughly 10% I believe. The MF TA is floral if too much is used, which is easy to do, but starting small and adding until just barely noticeable makes it work well in this.

This mix is sweet, very smooth, and not a tobacco flavor. Caramel and GCC up front mix with the vanilla to form one flavor with hints of hazelnut. TA adds a little complexity.

Leave out the TA and it's good as well.

Hello everyone!

I recently started making my own e-juice and I adapted this recipe, I ended up with

MFG | Flavor | Percentage ---------|----------|---------- TPA | Bravarian Cream | 4% TPA | Cheesecake Graham Crust | 5% TPA | Sweet Cream | 4% TPA | Vanilla Custard | 3% FA | Red Touch Strawberry | 10%

The only difference I have from the original recipe is the Red Touch Strawberry as Strawberry Ripe was out of stock when I ordered from ecigexpress. I have the following issues :

1 : The creams are very strong when I first mixed it. No strawberry at all.

2 : After steeping for a day, the creams seemed to disappear.

3 : After crock-pot steeping for about 4 hours, the creams come back, but strawberry is still missing.

4 : No matter what, exhale still feels kinda bland and empty.

What should I do? From what I've read, I gather that 10% might be a little extreme. Unless someone says so otherwise, I might reduce that percentage to 6% or maybe 3%. Or is it because of steeping? Should I let it steep a little more?

2 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years ago

Try cutting the percentages of every single one of those flavors in half. Don't do the crock pot. Just try it after it steeps overnight and then again after four or five days. Do you have any other strawberry flavors or just FA Red Touch?

2 points

by illuminariasover 8 years ago

Thank you for your suggestions! I'll make a new batch today with the percentages cut in half. Sadly I only have Red Touch. Is Red Touch very different from Strawberry Ripe? Also, what are the downsides of doing the crock pot method?

2 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years ago

It can destroy your flavors, especially your more volatile ones like fruits, and at the very least will shorten the shelf-life of your juice. Nothing wrong with warming it up a little to make it easier to shake up if you're mixing high VG, but when it comes to steeping, there's really no substitute for time. Also, if you were doing that crock pot steeping with the cap off, you were literally letting the flavor out of the bottle.

Finally, while some TFA, FW, and a few other flavors are good to use at 10%, I've not yet encountered an FA flavor I was tempted to use higher than 5%. 90% of them I wouldn't go over 4%, but Strawberry is a slightly weaker one that could go to 5%. 10% is just way, way too much. It's possible to use so much of a flavor that you blow it out and are no longer able to taste it.

4% TFA Sweet Cream sounds disgusting to me, too. Like vaping Parmesan cheese. The other flavors %'s are ok, but I really think that unless you're one of those people who are unable to taste strawberry, you'll find this juce much more enjoyable if you just cut all the %'s in half across the board. Try it after letting it sit overnight and let me know what you think. I bet you'll find that it tastes pretty good. Give it about five days in a room temperature, dark place, just taking it out to shake it once a day, and I bet you'll find it gets better. Even longer and it should get even better.

There are a pretty large number of people who can't taste any strawberries and some who can't taste certain strawberries. I hope you're not one of them. If you want to find out whether you're one of them before doing the strawberry & cream recipe again, try mixing up a small bottle of just 4% Strawberry by itself. No need for steeping, just shake and vape.
