Caveat: This is a niche flavor for people trying to recreate the taste of a burning cigarette.

Flavor Properties:
- earthy
- dry
- ashy
- pungent
Relatable Flavors:
- charred, dry hay
- dry, earthy taste like when you chew green tea leaves left at the bottom of the tea cup
- can taste something similar to the flavor of burning cigarette paper
- similar notes as TFA Cubano or FA Perique Black (minus the anise and spice)
- picture smoking a cig half way down, now remove the nutty, leathery, raisin-y tobacco leaf taste and leave behind the ash and burning paper.. that's kinda what Classic Cigarette tastes like
Mouth Feel:
- moderately dense
Off Flavors:
- none that shouldn't be there
Position In A Recipe:
- accent flavor to dirty up an analog cig mix
Suggested Percentage:
- start low, 0.25-0.5% then work your way up
Pairings:
- bold tobaccos
- FA Black Fire
- INW Dirty Neutral Base
Conclusion:
- If you're chasing that analog cigarette flavor, this is for you.
- This is NOT a standalone flavor. Use sparingly.
- Imo, this is a flav in a similar category to Black Fire, Dirty Neutal Base, etc. It's a tobacco additive that will bring the vibe of burning tobacco.
- I'll say again, this is a down and dirty bacco additive and I recommend it for serious tobacco enthusiasts only who are looking to experiment and develop that real cigarette taste.
Reading this I'm imagining the taste of a half smoked cig found in the ashtray the next morning and relit.
Sounds like just what some people need to get that old timey taste.
It's not next morning cigarette. Like, for example, Dirty Neutral Base really, really smells like a cig that's been put out.
Classic Cigarette is more the taste of the burning paper and kind of earthy tones that come with a burning cig.
I'm nitpicking, but for the analog cig chaser, these distinctions may be key.
Or...pretty much my first week or so of trying to quit and refusing to buy a pack....But also refusing to empty my ash trays...
Good review , i have a bottle of Black Fire but i never use it , smells like smoke from a campfire or barbecue .
Yup, you nailed it. Use in low percents to add some smoke to your mix. Too high and you'll taste the barbecue.
Just by it's name you know a ton of people are going to try it , so many are looking for that classic cig flavor .
Charred dry hay is my favorite. I'm kidding... thanks for the review!
Lol, like I said, very niche application for this flavor. I should do a review of Dirty Neutral Base, would probably the least appealing description of any tobacco concentrate on the planet but so damn useful if applied correctly.
That sounds like an excellent idea. Often times I read about people thinking a flavor sucks or whatever, come to find out they used it at way too high of a % or mixed it with things it shouldn't be mixed with. A review of DNB would be a great informational post.
Well to be completely fair, for some people, DNB would suck lol. It's definitely an acquired taste. But ya, DNB review inbound now that you mention it. I'll get a stand alone steeping tomorrow. I actually have to steep INW flavs tho, unlike FLV which becomes stable pretty early on.
How many flavors am I going to have to order this week? I've got DNB on the way. If it doesn't work the way I hope it will in a recipe I'm working on, I might have to give this a try.
>got DNB
0.5% mild ash, 1% for the bold, 2% for men and women with balls of steel. Past that and you literally turn into an ashtray.
Might want to hold off on ordering til I finish working my way through the rest of the FLV tobaccos. I picked up their whole line so more to come.
Thanks for the info! Don't imagine it's one of the flavors I'm going to want to try on it's own. I think it's going to go really well in an all INA recipe I'm working on. I've noticed lately that I'm becoming an INA fanboy.
Might just have to pick up the whole line too. I've never used any of their flavors, but I've read good things about a few. As a tobacco only kind of guy, seems like something I should have on hand.
