I think cleansing the palate is a great idea. Keep vaping those cleansing flavors (menthol as you mentioned, I personally use Inawera eucalyptus with mint and highly recommend it for so many reasons). Try replacing your build if it's not clean. Traditional palate cleaners are excellent as well- I keep some pickled ginger in the fridge, and smell some coffee when I'm doing long testing sessions. If that doesn't work- simply take a break all together as difficult as that may be. Good luck! Let me know how it goes :)

Reduce the power setting/wattage.

To replicate the vape from your mech look at the voltage when you set your power, 3.8-4.0V will get you in the ballpark of what your mech was producing on a full battery.

I have a feeling it does too, and that needle gauge variability is probably one of the advantages of mixing by weight, but I honestly don't know if it does or how much it does. Have you tried looking at sources outside of DIY ejuice for the answer? Like asking in a science-related sub or googling about how syringes work?

Not sure if I have the same LA flavorings you're talking about, but I would just start low (1-2%) and work up if you are unsure. You can always add a percent, but you can't really take it out. I probably would not use 15-20% of any single flavor. Maybe 6-8% tops and only if I knew through some research that it wasn't going to get weird. My baseline for most of my flavors is around 3% give or take until I get a feel for them.

Link us to the recipes and the actual Lorann concentrates you bought. Some of those are actually not safe to vape.

Definitely reply back with the LorAnns flavors you have. Some of them are fine to vape, but several are not safe to vape. I found this list from 2013 that will give you some guidelines. Post the flavors you have here I'm sure some more advanced DIYers will be able to give you more up to date information.

Breathing is unnecessary most of the time, IMO, and most recipes won't benefit from it. People do it for perfumey, or recipes with a strong undesirable alcohol effect, but in my personal experience steeping takes care of everything. I know that's not your question but just wanted to address that.
That recipe seems fine, percentage wise, for those brands. You may be having a bad reaction to them because you have a sensitivity- have you single tested them? Give that a try if you haven't.
Also, are you dripping? I find that when I over drip it rips up my throat.

I came to recommend my go to for this profile, look for "strawberry milks" by /u/thedirtyprojector. I always mix 60v and steep 2 weeks min. Yeah, it is a lot of different flavors, but they are all important, no subbing allowed, and you just need them all anyway:)

Edit: I havent even tried "god milk", so i cant help you there, unless its to say that these kind of mixes need a good steep.

Use less Graham Cracker crust and use more creams. Such as FA Cream Fresh, or some custard. Also add a tiny bit of your favourite coconut flavour (0.2%), it will enhance the creaminess.

Could be, yes. If you're used to 60/40, 80/20 might taste a tad muted to you. Maybe /u/ID10-T can help you out more.

I'm really glad you enjoyed the first batch, Qube. Goldfish is right, if you're used to 60/40, 80/20 is probably going to taste muted to you. 70/30 should be fine (that's what I vape), but 80 is really a lot of VG for someone accustomed to 60/40. There are other possibilities (how well did you shake your concentrates before using them? for example. How clean is your coil/cotton? etc) but higher VG is the simplest explanation. Get yourself some more PG.

You could try to "rescue" that 50ml by adding a little more flavor, but I don't know how much to suggest adding because I don't know how much of it you've vaped already.

You should make a post for this, get a wider audience than you'll get in the new mixers' questions thread. Or, if you'd rather, I'll make "chocolate" the flavor of the week for the week after next (starting one week from tomorrow) and you can ask it again then.

This should give you a decent starting point.

Another thing I've done is just go to a site like Bull City Vapor and sort by "bestselling" and load up on what looks good in those first few pages.

Try looking through the flavor reviews in the sidebar. When you find a flavor that sounds good do a search of the sub to see where it's used. I've got a long long list of recipes that I want to try from doing just that. There are probably enough that I'll never get to inventing my own recipes. And I have no problem with that :)

Tiny, tiny amount of INW Cactus. Tiny as in like sub 0.5%. It takes a good while for the Cactus flavor to mellow out if you use too much.

What /u/EdibleMalfunction said is the number one, go-to, top of the line, answer.

But if for some reason INW Cactus doesn't do it for you (it might clash with or overpower other ingredients even after a steep or just not do what you want it to do), there are other things you can try. TFA Marshmallow and other marshmallow flavors, FA MTS, TFA Smooth, TFA Dragonfruit, TFA Koolada, EM, TFA Honeydew, and Sucralose/Sweetener are also options. You just have to experiment until you find what works for any given recipe.

What % did you use? How long did you steep? I don't have this flavor but someone who does will ask you the same questions.

Also, INW Shisha Strawberry is the preferred strawberry from them and it's pretty popular. If your current INW strawberry doesn't work out, give Shisha Strawberry a try. INW makes some good stuff so don't give up on them.

I've used 10, 30, 60 mL. Literally 1000s of them. I have ZERO complaints.

I just made Pioneer using the original recipe a few days ago and since it's still steeping and I haven't vaped any of it, I can't yet say for sure how much FE Green Tea would be the the right amount to use in place of TFA's just yet. But having tried them both standalone and done a lot of work with FE, I'd say that 1% FE Green Tea is about as strong as 5% TFA Green Tea, so that would mean that 0.7% an excellent choice for how much to use to sub for 3.5% TFA.

If you ask me again in a few days (after I try Pioneer and see how present that Green Tea is) I might have a better answer, and if you want to wait a week and half or so, I'll try FE Green Tea as a sub in Pioneer myself and maybe have an even better one.

You could try diluting it with VG and PG. Other than that, if it tastes that horrible, there's not really anything you can do. In the future, don't make large batches of recipes that you haven't tested yet.

TFA Raspberry Sweet is much better than regular raspberry. And 9% Juicy Peach is way high. 4% of each makes a decent blue raspberry.

As far as saving it, the best you can hope for is diluting it, at least in half. I would pour off 10ml, then add at least 10ml of plain base to that. Maybe, just maybe, you'll have something that you can stand to vape. If not, dump it and start over. It's only money, and dang little at that.

Try vaping pure PG/VG on the coils for a bit, might clear them out. And look into building your own coils, it's very simple and will save you a shitload of money.

Yes, the natural sugar will burn, possibly producing carcinogens. That alone is reason enough not to. Then take the possibility of coming down with lipid pnuemonia from the oils. Nasty stuff right there.

The information above was found in the sidebar to the right. If you are not familiar with the sidebar, please look it over at least twice. It is filled with nearly everything you need or want to know about and the mods along with users have spent a lot of time compiling that information.

My suggestion in terms of picking out flavors is to find about 3 highly regarded recipes (either on this sub, DIYorDIE, or alltheflavors.com) and buy the ingredients for those recipes. That will give you a great start in your flavor collection as well as allow you to have some tried and true recipes to vape. You can also pick out some other flavors that catch your eye, but at least if you buy flavors for great recipes, you're guaranteed to have something tasty.

First, get more vg, that will go quickly. You didn't say which base the nic is in, but I recommend PG. Just easier to work with.

As for flavors, do some homework. Search out recipes that both appeal to you, and most importantly have POSITIVE feedback. The "best of" threads and monthly threads here are the best sources. Allthe flavors.com is a great place to look. Then buy the needed flavors for those recipes, maybe picking up some other flavors to play with. The "flavor reviews" and "my first flavors" threads will help you to choose.

I did the whole take what you bought it for and divide it up by how many you have. My brother brought up that as long as it is lower than what a B+M has it at, they will probably buy it.
Go off what you feel comfortable with. I sell my 30ml at $5 for simple recipes and $10 for recipes that I took time to tweak and perfect. Considering it only costs around $1.50 in total after you are able to make a little profit to buy more inventory.

I sell juice to a few friends at $5 for 30ml. That's beating the hell out of the local B&Ms' prices ($10 on sale, $15 regular, $20 and up for "premium") but still more than enough to cover my cost and my time. I always include a free 10ml sample, too, sometimes of something I'm working on that I'd like to get feedback on, sometimes of a completed recipe that I think they'll like, and sometimes just a single-flavor test to see what they think of that flavor.

I sell 50ml for $10. That is plenty to cover my costs, keep me in supplies, and I vape for free basically. NOBODY will complain if the juice is tasty and if you can get 5-6 steady customers buying 2-3 bottles a week it will keep your development up as well. They will buy your supplies for you for the new stuff too. They are also getting a product that will usually be better on their equipment if you aren't heavy on sweeteners and they will notice that and spread the word.

Rather than rattle off multiple nicotine suppliers, you should check out the section in the sidebar for Nicotine. There will be recommended suppliers listed there. Peppery nicotine is a sign of oxidization, and most of the vendors listed are good at not selling nicotine that has oxidized. I'd say if you want to be totally sure of what you are getting, buy from CXT.

As far as PG and VG goes, as long as it is USP Grade and you are getting it at a good price, vendor does not matter.

If you have Amazon Prime free shipping, and maybe even if you don't, Essential Depot is a great source of PG and VG.

As /u/EdibleMalfuntion already pointed out, Carolina Xtracts is the place for top-quality nicotine base with no worries about peppery taste or anything like that, but if it is too pricey for you, look at other sources. VapersTek is one that comes to mind as being highly recommended. Nude Nicotine used to be, and still is by some, but they have had some pretty serious customer service and quality control issues lately.

If you haven't already gone through all the information in the sidebar (sounds like you haven't), I highly recommend doing so. Twice.

I believe the iCare is like similar products that usually prefer the 30-40 range of PG. I would not go higher than a 30pg/70vg mix for that.

Yes, you can do that, but since you don't know exactly how much of it you took out to taste it, you won't know exactly what % you're adding, and might have trouble getting the exactly same results when you love it and want to make it again.

Your math is good but the more common way of doing it is to get the PG and VG separately, along with get a higher concentration nicotine in either PG or VG, and mixing them all together with your flavors. That way, you get the exact mg solution you want in the exact VG/PG ratio you want every time, regardless of how much or how little flavoring you add to the mix. Then you just use one of the online or downloadable ejuice mixing calculators and let them to all the math work for you.

Which Strawberry did you buy?

According to ELR, average mixing strength for single flavor Capella Strawberry Sweet is 9%. I realize you don't have Sweet version but it may give you some idea of amount needed. On the other hand, there is always some whacko who mixes a flavor at 20% and completely fucks up the average mixing stat so it's a bit of a toss up.

It really depends on the make of the flavor concentrates are you using. What is the manufacture?

Please also do not call them oils, vaping oils will lead to lipid pneumonia. If your flavorings are oils based do not use in ejuice.

Well you might have stumbled into the most fun, best tasting, extremely fun hobby that's related to vaping.

Please tell us the brand name of your flavoring. As firefox said, if it's oil based, you can't use it, it's not safe for vaping.

Are you switching over from smoking? If so, you might want to get some nicotine. If not, you obviously don't want nicotine lol.

Someone might direct you to read the sidebar at some point. If this seems like an interesting hobby to you, then I recommend you do read the sidebar as it will teach you everything you need to know to get started. On the other hand, if you just wanna vape some e-liquid and will be buying commercial e-liquid in the future, then we can probably just tell you the exact amount to mix.

For the first one, cut out the Dairy Milk, and try all of the things you suggested for yourself.

For the second one, cut out the both the Bavarian Cream and the Dairy Milk and try CAP Creamy Yogurt instead. For the blueberries, try /u/EdibleMalfunction's blueberry Trinity: 4% TFA Blueberry Extra, 3% FW Blueberry, and 0.5% FA Bilberry. Also add 0.5% CAP Italian Lemon Sicily - that will serve the dual purpose of making the blueberries pop and tarting up your yogurt a bit.

For the last one, mix this recipe, Ginger Sauce and adjust to fit your palate after you've tried it.

Great advice by u/ID10-T . I'd also add that you may want to decrease some of those percentages. No need to go that high.

Shake well to ensure that the nic is evenly distributed. For testing, remember to use a larger sample size than what the directions tell you. 15-20 ml should do.

Amazon has several theatrical "smoke" liquids for pretty cheap. Look up "fog juice" I think it was. Turned up when I was searching for PG and VG.

VG gives the most vapor, but I believe smoke machines use PG or a blend of the two.

The consensus seems to be that this is a shitty flavor. Judging by the reviews, you probably just want to trash that concentrate. In the future, make sure you either find recipes or look up some notes on flavors you buy. There are definitely some out there that tend to be unusable.

Measuring by drops is not accurate. You will need syringes to measure by volume or, since you already have pipettes, a scale to mix by weight

I have a few recipes that mix PG flavors with the RF brand. Just go off the steeping time of the RF components of the juice. The two web-based calculators that a lot of us use, http://e-liquid-recipes.com, and https://alltheflavors.com, will allow you to look up flavors and you can check out the recommended percentages for them. As far as steeping time in those bottles, it really depends on what you are mixing. Mixes won't always take 1-2 weeks, depending on your concentrates. It may be a few days less than say a 30 ml bottle, but I wouldn't change the resting time at all.

LA Lemonade is probably the most popular, and it is used in some very well regarded lemonade recipes. (Usually with some other lemon and a touch of strawberry or raspberry)

FA Lime Cold Pressed and FA Lime Tahity Cold Pressed are the same thing.

I like CAP Super Sweet because it's the strongest and contains some scary chemicals that might make me infertile. I can't afford a vasectomy so while the thought of scalpels touching my balls is certainly thrilling, until a male birth control bill is released, I'll just have to keep trying to vape my way to not making any more nose miners.

I think more people use prefer TFA Sweetener (5% Sucralose, 5% Maltol) and want avoid the preservatives in CAP Super Sweet (20% Sucralose, plus preservatives). There are other sources for sucralose sweetener as well, usually sold in 10% dilution. But before you resort to gunking up your coils with sucralose sweetener, try TFA Ethyl Maltol or "Cotton Candy" (Not Circus Cotton Candy, that's a different flavor!) that can increase the perception of sweetness in your juice (but also mutes flavors) or better yet, adding a sweet flavor to the mix such as a marshmallow flavor.

to add on, if you go the marshmallow route get either the TFA or CAP one. as i just discovered last night, FA marshmallow tastes like an actual marshmallow. i couldn't for the life of me figure out why everyone liked the watermelon crack clone until i saw people discussing it in the clone thread and decided to take another look at the recipe and realized i was using FA MM instead of TFA. then i did some research that lead me to

Sweetner is usually 10% sucralose dilution in PG. Cap Super Sweet is 20%. If a recipe calls for sweetner, let's say 2%, you would use 1% of super sweet.

You want brands of flavor to buy or places to buy flavors from?

It would have a hard time wicking. I would use at least 20% PG with a tank like that, or maybe 5% distilled water if you're avoiding PG.

It really depends on what you're mixing it with, as different flavors react differently to each other. FA Cream Fresh and TFA Bavarian Cream are your two best bets out of those, for sure.

You could get an inexpensive ultrasonic cleaner machine. Usually $25-$35 at home depot or harbor freight. Also works great to clean all your vape gear like rdas, tanks, tips,syringes etc...

Rinse with warm water and soap, then drop them into a pot of boiling water for a few mins (I guess this only applies to used bottles).

99% of flavors are PG based. So your hypothetical should look like this, assuming you are using 100mg/ml PG nicotine. Just remember to make yourself a note of how much nic to add when you get it.

No, JF Strawberry Sweet is more concentrated than CAP Sweet Strawberry. For example, you can find plenty of recipes using CAP Sweet Strawberry at 4 to 6%. That would be WAY too much JF Sweet Strawberry. I'd sub it at something like 0.75:1 at the most on the JF, maybe even a little less, but not as low as 0.5:1.
