Portable Juice Calculator all files gone
submitted almost 9 years ago by Countryb0y22

All of my recipes, inventory, flavors, etc. are gone. I let someone else use the app, and they say they didn't do anything, but when I used it, everything was gone. Is there any way I can get this stuff back?

All the files are most likely still on your computer, do a file search. The app just forgot where they are.

Lol, no worries. Save a backup copy while you're at it :)

no problem. now go backup your xml to dropbox or google drive. shit, both of them.

Do post how you got this resolved for other users.

The calculator has a thread on ECF, and there were a few people having this issue recently after updating.

The juice file is always there, sometimes moved for some reason. Just search for recipes.xml

Oh God. It was last night when I was freaking out, and I've always solved computer problems by just trying stuff until something works, and I'm not too savvy with computer jargon, but I'll try to remember. and describe it as best as I can. From the app, I went to file, then open, then to wherever I had to EjuiceCalculator file with all of the stuff in it, then I just started opening xml documents and one of them had all of my stuff in it.

Ah, so for some reason your files were all there, but the calculator hadn't loaded them. You just opened your juice file again and voila!

Makes sense, thanks for the input.

I use this app too. I personally have google drive / Dropbox back up my whole recipe files folder.

Ever since my other PC hard drive died on me, I started making back ups online for peace of mind. Takes almost no time to set up, highly recommend.
