Hey guys, I know that VG is inherently sweet but I'd like to add a bit more to give a kick to the flavors I'm using. I know that TFA sucralose is a popular choice but I'm trying to keep things 100% VG (I'm using nude nicotine extract suspended in VG). Would diluting pure sweetener in VG work? What kind of sweetener would avoid gunking up the coils too fast?
Is there anything else I can do to bring out the flavor? I'm thinking of maybe thinning the VG with distilled water (say around 10%) or adding vinegar. Is this common practice?
It's odd that you're using NN flavors but didn't notice that NN has multiple sweeteners available in VG solutions. All of them, in fact.
Just noticed that today in their black friday sale e-mail. Didn't realize it was VG suspended. So many options too, going to be pricey to choose the right one.
It's really hard to dissolve things in VG, which is why almost all flavorings are PG based. I'd suggest using VG based flavors that are inherently sweet, try to get used to less sweet juice, or just use a PG based sweetener. 1% PG won't be noticeable unless you have a severe allergy.
Adding distilled water won't improve flavor, but it's a good way to thin out the VG. 10% is way overboard though, 1-3% should be more than enough.
I use almost no flavor, I just like sweetened VG 92/8 @ 1mg nic. I use 1 drop of EM and 1 drop of TFA sweetener per 30ml. I then add a few drops of milky undertone and a cream or two. Sometimes I add yellow cake or a little vanilla cupcake.
Every once and a while I mix apple pie, cinnabun, and glazed donut. Vanilla ice cream makes it a nice treat too.
Both meringue or marshmallow make a good base. One-on-ones milky undertone does wonders adding a smoothness.
If you want to sweeten VG just add a little PG to it.
You could try saline solution.
If your coils are getting gunked you are adding too much sweetener or flavor.
Make a bottle like you normally would then pour it into two similar bottles and top them off with your base. You will find they still taste good and you will be changing coils once a month or two like I am.
