can't seem to find a grape That's even decent. Grape candy TFA grape juice TFA grape FW are all shit. FW grape soda is the closest but I'm looking for a more authentic grape. Any suggestions?

What's your preferred % of Koolada in a mix. (or drops per so many ml)
Totally subjective/personal question but was curious.
0.25-0.5% (1-2 drops per 10 ml) is enough to give a pleasant lingering cool in the back of your throat. 1-1.5% (4-6 drops per 10 ml) gives you more of a punch if that's what you're looking for. I've never really felt the need to go beyond that :)
0.13% is enough for me; I think I might be more sensitive to it than most. I think the highest I've ever tried it was 0.75%. That was quite cold. Would not want to go higher.

What yogurt recipe is that? I don't even recall having tried one that I'd recommend except maybe /u/CheebaSteeba's Mango Lassi, but even then I'd say you're better off waiting for him to finish Version 2 which I'm sure will be glorious and not at all stinky catfish bait cheese tasting.
I have a friend that used to ask me to increase my 1% Koolada to over 6%. I thought he was crazy. I'm about to make a sick day mint vape though and might bump it up to 2-3%.
I totally recommend the cool mint & eucalyptus by inawera.

How concerned are you with specific gravity of flavors when mixing by weight?
All you need is consistency when making juice. I mark all my concentrates as 1g per ml and keep it like that.
As long you stick to it you are fine.
Does specific gravity make more of a difference for pg and vg since they normally make up a much larger volume?
It's just a more precise measurement when your talking .01 or .02 of a flavor. I would say that there wouldn't be a absurd notice, You're talking about splitting hairs. Now if you mixing 100's of thousands of gallons, I would say you could of saved some flavoring along the way.

Hi Everyone, I have been a long time follower, but haven't really posted. i have trolled the sidebar and search to find an answer, but I am new to reddit so I am struggling. I think it is also a very unique flavour I am looking for which is not such a popular mix, so finding info on it is not so easy
I am working on a light, cool summer vape (Southern hemisphere)
I love watermelon and have been using TFA watermelon with a menthol and/or koolada at around 1 - 1.5% to get a bit of a fresh bite.
I have two challenges. I am not getting to a nice punchy watermelon %. if I go too low (5%) the flavour dies down with the menthol and if I go really high (12%) then the watermelon taste like rancid sweaty socks. do i change to a different concentrate or is there something i can supplement the watermelon with to make it pop a bit more
secondly, I am also struggling to get the mentol ratios right. either too strong (2%) I have taken it down to 0.25% but just no getting the kind of cool/light menthol flavour that just accents the watermelon.
I suspect menthol is the wrong choice, can you suggest I use something else like spearmint or peppermint instead? using koolada seem to just augment the bad tastes in the watermelon.
I desperately need to get this right, any help will be appreciated

You need another watermelon flavor. TFA's is not bad but it it just won't cut it by itself. Depending on what you want in a watermelon (mainly candyish vs. more natural melon flavor), there are many options to use instead of, or along with, TFA Watermelon.

I would go with LA Watermelon for a candy watermelon flavor and FA Watermelon for a natural watermelon flavor. You could use either of them along with TFA Watermelon for a more rounded watermelon in either the candy or natural direction, since TFA seems to be one that could go either way with a little help. But when I commented earlier I was just thinking, "Jeez, poor guy is trying to get good watermelon vape using ONLY TFA Watermelon." I didn't think about the mint/menthol/coldness you're looking for in it.

I'm looking at bull city vapors to order my first stuff. What brand should I mostly stick to and is used a lot and usually good? I'm going to be making creams, ice cream, cereal, dessert shit, but some cream flavorings can be peppery I think? It'd be easy to just get all TFA shit and follow the recipes in the sidebar but if CAP or any other brands have extraordinary dessert base stuff I want that. Just don't know what's good.
Find some highly-rated and regarded recipes that look good to you and order the stuff to make those, but also single-flavor test the flavors you get so you can use them to tweak those recipes and invent your own.
Dude I'm looking at a lot of recipes and they all need like 4 creams, I have like 7 in my cart lol. Is that unnecessary? I have 36-40 flavors in my cart, I just looked at a lot of recipes on here, went into "best selling" and just picked the ones I wanted and you guys use. Like 60 bucks, should I start smaller lol
That's entirely up to how big or small you want to start, but I would start smaller and really take the time to get acquainted with the flavors you choose. Unless you're just really trying to get that free shipping, look at less recipes and simpler recipes, as well as recipes that have flavors in common.

Yesterday after some research I went to Boots and bought a a bottle of B.P. Glycerol (Glycerin).

It's really cheap and convenient to purchase (I ordered 1 litre of PG instead of VG accidentally).
I read all I could find about it on google and figured its safe for vaping.
I've made three 30ml mixes - two that I've tried before and one experimental. All featured around 18% of concentrates, max VG. I had no problem with high VG juices before although they lacked some taste, they were smooth as baby's skin.
The mix I made turned out to be really bland. I had four flavours (10% Dragonfruit TPA) in it and can barely feel any of them. The vape is also quite harsh. I don't think steeping will help much.
Has anyone tried that VG before? I found in one thread in planetoftehapes that other fellas had similar problem with bland tastes while others said it was ok. I will try to make 75% VG rest PG mix today but perhaps anyone else has recommendations for better taste with this particular VG? Thanks a lot guys!
You said you had four flavors then only list dragonfruit at 10%. What are the other recipes you have tried?
Yeah I had 4 flavours in it with 10% being dragon fruit (rest are 3 other flavors).
I also prepared the creamy banana and cake mixes which I used before.
I actually bought some distilled water yesterday and mixed it with liquid and it got slighlty better. Then I added another 2ml of flavour to see if I can restore the liquid. It's not good, but at least I can vape it. I'm gonna try and dillute this vg with water before maxing another batch.
So I've been DIYing for the last month and finding it kinda tricky, so I've a quick question to try and cut another variable out...
When tasting your DIY juice as you go what's the best method? Currently I use my dripper but worry that without rewicking in between changes I won't be getting a true reflection of what the changes I've made actually taste like.
Am I trying to find an excuse for my not so good ability or should I be doing something different here?

One trick I've learned from youtube, forgot who the uploader was, is to directly drip on a clapton coil, it'll hold a drop easily. I've got a dual clapton on an rda and with just a drop on each, I get a very clean vape.
I don't know what other people here do, but that certainly works for me and its super convenient.
Side note, at this stage of your foray into DIY you can't be expected to come up with good mixes on your own until you have tested your flavors individually and at different strengths. Just mix up some recipes you find over here or other resources till you get familiar with your flavourings. Mixing is easy, anyone can do it, if you are doing it by weight, but coming up with your own recipes is what is hard.
Thanks for the tip, is doing it by weight the best way? I suppose it removes a large chunk of user error and pipette/syringe issues so I'll possibly get one that's accurate enough soon.
I do have some claptons lying around so I'll give them a go tomorrow and see how we get on.
The other worry I have is that I've been mixing from recipes popular on ATF or here and DIYorDie, most of them are pretty underwhelming compared to store bought juice. Now I'm not saying they're bad recipes because clearly people love them but is there anything I should be doing/not doing? The juices (mint chocolate chip and lemon cheesecake aside) all just seem a bit flat...
Mixing by weight is absolutely the way to go. No clean up necessary. I use disposable pipettes for nictine only. Flavourings are squeezed directly into the bottle you are mixing into. Just watch any of the mixing videos on the DIYorDIE YouTube channel and you'll get an idea of how it works. New Amsterdam Vape has an excellent video about it as well.
With regards to the recipes you are replicating. Are you using the exact same flavourings from the same companies? Are you sure about the volume of flavours used? If so, could be that your are just used to commercial ejuice which is usually filled with Sweetener. I haven't run into the same issue, but I've avoided sweetner filled ejuice as soon as I got into vaping as I saw how it impacted my coils. Plus I wasn't really into desert/baked ejuice, around here, fruity and tobacco flavors are more prevalent. I just assumed it's an American thing, cause, you know, fattest country in the western world and all...

So I'm having problems with tasting strawberries and I now tried every Strawberry which is on the market and today I noticed something weird. I mixed up a 50:50 juice and initially wanted to do a blueberry menthol, but by mistake I grabbed the TPA Strawberry Ripe bottle and did put around 0,5% in the juice. Just vaped it and its like strawberry explosion. If I try my 5% mix it doesnt taste like anything at all.
Could the people who have problems with tasting strawberry just be like hyper sensitive with it? Im kinda happy I've made a juice that tastes like strawberry by mistake
It's definitely possible and I find Strawberries to be one of the most fickle of all the bitches out there. Sometimes I taste it just fine, other times nothing, even if it's the same mix. I realized early on I had to go low with the strawberries since I wasn't tasting anything at high %s. Cool and bright flavors definitely play well with Strawberry, so that could be a reason it was standing out so much in that mix. One of my favorite combatants so far against the war on strawberry is Alpine Strawberry, since it has a super powerful and fresh strawberry note that just stands out so well in a mix. Does not play well with creams in my experience though, unfortunately, so that will be a challenge.
I wonder is there some difference in VG and PG quality?
I once got some VG/PG to try DIY and it tasted awful. Is it that some VG is better quality than other? Furthermore, why do some juices taste like epic shit base, and others don't? (it's really about the base - the flavoring is okay, but this base taste I feel is awful for some cheaper juices)
I have seen some marked as 99.5% and 99.7, so I am guessing impurities are higher in others then some, maybe someone can add to this,
So, I'm not a beginner, but I figured this would be the best place to ask this. What is your experience with FW crispy rice vs tpa rice crunches? I've got some incoming and was wanting to know the subs thought on the pros and cons of each.
FW is definitely better. TFA gives me a bit of a chemical taste that I don't get with FW. Neither are really a "rice crispies" taste, but FW has a tiny hint of butteriness I enjoy. It's like a dry, generic "puff" taste, with just a hint of butter. I use it around 2-3% as a supporting note. It needs some marshmallow to give it a little more character. FW Marshmallow seems to fill that position pretty well, but TFA Toasted Marshmallow is amazing with it. Try a 1:1 ratio with FW Rice Krispies and TFA Toasted.
Does anyone have any experience with CAP Blackberry? I recently mixed up some 5% on its own 70VG/30PG and I get a strong coconut aftertaste from it.
Just doing a sniff test, I do pick up a bit of coconut. It's so perfumey though. I've only really used TFA's version which is much darker, pungent, better resembling a blackberry in my opinion.
I'd use it at a lower percentage and combine it with blackcurrant or something.
Yeah, I really like TFA blackberry but I had both and ran out of TFA so moved to CAP. Will definitely be getting more TFA and may save the CAP for some type of tropical fruity blend.
If you had only FA Caramel, FA Cookie and FA Marshmellow... what would you mix?
To provide an actual answer to this question - Try making a subtle mix of say FA Caramel and cookie. Maybe 3-4% each and adjust per your taste. I wouldn't combine Caramel and Marshmellow but adding cookie to either likely wouldn't be too bad.

Best strawberry combos; before I get the "search the sidebar rhetoric", I have. I've been in the DIY hobby for around 3 months now due to a dissatisfied inconsistency in my local vendors juices since the FDA's new regulatory laws. My question is, has anyone found a constantly satisfying mix of strawberry for a cream or a cheesecake? using TFA's strawberry ripe, TFA strawberry, and CAP sweet strawberry. I've been playing around with tfa ripe stand alone in creams and cheesecakes, it's a great shake and Vape but seems to lack in strawberry flavor after a week or so. I've heard u can boost the flavor with dragon fruit or add a percent or two of whatever flavor your using after the juice steeps. I've tried both and doesn't quite hit the spot. I'm looking for a well rounded, strawberry upfront, smooth and creamy consistent vape with the strawberry as the main profile. Btw, I'm using my strawberry under 10% and total cream/cheesecake base at around 5% give or take a percent or two. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance
try a mix of tfa strawberry ripe and INW shisha strawberry.
I have tried shisha, very potent stuff, but I'm referencing those three strawberries mainly, a combination of those three in conjunction with cream/cheesecake bases.
hi when i mix up a recipe i find on here e.g., Peaches and Cream by Vurve .. it tastes great at first then after i let it steep it only smells great but has very little flavour.. why is that ?? should it not get better or at least keep its flavour for more that a few days? btw i leave cap on my mixes. thanks to any1 that takes the time to reply
Did you just start mixing? Are the liquids you're used to vaping super sweet?
This is a good question. Part of learning how to mix your own juice is redefining your palate. If you were used to vaping the "stuff on the shelf" they were mostly likely high in sweetener - which has a tendency to mute flavors and/or clog your taste buds. Give it time. Search palate cleansers in this sub i.e. tea, water.

But I have been vaping 4 years or so and mixing over a year and have 150+ flavours that I have not tested as single flavours as I'm a very lazy mixer and like to get a recipe that's sounds good to my buy the flavours and mix 100ml or so and still have not made a personal recipe that I can call my own... I have went through the past year or so mixing blaming the nic, the base or the recipes but it has to be my fault and I would love to get past this problem and make something I'm happy with instead of just vaping it because it's there and it's better than the stinkies
Don't be embarrassed. If you are using recipes that are well reviewed and using bases and nicotine that are good, then I'm not sure what it could be. Maybe you can try to completely switch up the way you build coils and wick. Like build lower or higher, different gauge wire or wick differently. When was the last time you had your teeth cleaned? These are all just things to think about.

Best blueberry is a combination of Blueberry Extra (TFA), Blueberry (FW), and Bilberry (FA). As far as grape goes, someone actually asked the same question here a little further down.
IMO, /u/mlNikon and /u/EdibleMalfunction gave you the best suggestions you're going to get on grapes and blueberries. Edible has a fantastic recipe using that combo of blueberries, INW grape is THE authentic grape, and not too many people have tried SC Grape but I have and I definitely agree with MlNikon on that one.

Edit : My PG came from amazon as well but I tried vaping 100% VG and its definitely a taste in the VG
I've used that VG and never had any problems with it, but if it tastes funny to you vaping 100% VG then it's likely that. However you also have to rule out an equipment issue and if you have only been mixing for a short time and used to vape a bunch of sucralose-laden commercial juices, it could be your palate adjusting. I'd probably start by setting that VG aside and trying some from another source to see if that makes a difference.
When you vaped 100% VG and got a rubbery taste, did you do it with no nicotine or flavors, just dripping straight VG?
Correct, I tried with literally only VG to get a taste for it. I might order a small bit of VG from somewhere else to see if I get the same result.
Any cheap and good nicotine I can get in the UK? I bought some off of makemyvape, but I feel it's really harsh on the throat, and a bit peppery (I started at my regular 6mg, lowered to 3, still harsh in my mixes).

so i recently ordered the starter kit from Liquid Barn, andam waiting for delivery. i got vg based nic and did 1/1 of vg/pg. almost went full vg, but figured i should get some pg so i can thin it out since my gf uses a tank system, and id really like to have a tank on hand so im not 24/7 dripping, or at least can besafe while i drive. anyways, the flavors i picked, were decided on with the intentions of being able to mix them.
LiquidBarn kit: Flavor 1: Strawberry Flavor 2: Banana Flavor 3: Green Apple Flavor 4: Blue Raspberry Flavor 5: Peach Flavor 6: Pink Lemonade Flavor 7: Lava Cake Flavor 8: Creme Brulee Flavor 9: Bakers Touch (Cinnamon custard danish pastry.) Flavor 10: Belgian Waffle Flavor 11: Cream Flavor 12: Sweetener (Flavor Enhancer) Flavor 13:Sour (Flavor Enhancer) now, the pink lemonade doesnt seem like it would really mix well with much there, andsame with the sour apple. the pink lemonade i got so i could mix it with blue raspberry and peach, so i can make something that is kind of inspired by summerdrink from big bottle co, which is blackberry peach lemonade, from my understanding. then the green apple i got just because i heard its a good flavor to practice the sweet/sour with, both of which i figured make sense to grab as part of my startup. i tried to get stuff that commonly mixes well or that sound like they will mix well. i would love to hear the opinions of others on the flavors i picked. i will be adding some more flavors soon, and have some ideas of what i want to add from other vendors/manufacturers (graham cracker, snickerdoodle, something peanut butter, pie crust, dragon fruit, blueberry, cherry, just to name a few), but would consider the suggestions of others as well. essentially my current objective is to get some of the more generic, safe mixers, then once i have a decent variety expand out to the more exotic flavors. i love mixing foods and stuff, so im confident this will be fun too. i am going into this expecting my first few dozen batches to taste horrible, that way if i end up with something that works, then WOOHOO!
You seem really excited about this and we love that kind of enthusiasm around here.
Piece of advice, when you go to order new flavors, choose them by finding some well-reviewed and highly-rated recipes and get the flavors to mix those. Then you know you'll have some good stuff to vape while you work on making your own mixes. At the same time, both with your current order that's on the way and with all future orders, make sure to test all your flavors out individually and get a good feel for them before you mix them together. For those flavors you have coming, I'd recommend testing them at two to three different strengths, 5% and 10%, and maybe 7.5%, to get a feel for the range and how they taste different at different concentrations. Then you'll have a pretty good idea how much Pink Lemonade to mix with how much Blue Raspberry and Peach, etc., to get the end result you're looking for.
If you had only 10 flavors for making bakery/dessert recipes what would they be? I want to put in an order for bakery flavors so I can try my hand at some of those mixes. Can't wait to see what I should get. All my flavors are fruit type flavors.
I'll start you off with a couple:

Those are the ones that stood out for me so far, only been mixing for a couple of months. Have a look at some bakery/desert recipes on here or ATF and look at what flavors are commonly used. On ATF if you save what flavors you have in your inventory, you can search for recipes that you have one or two ingredients missing so you can get an idea what you can order or just look at the most popular flavors and find the bakery/desert flavors on it.
Look up some recipes and buy based on those
If you like cinnamon roll type things, FLV Rich Cinnamon is a must-have.
TFA Cheesecake Graham Cracker
I second the ones that /u/gushluva told you, and add that Cap Graham Cracker is a cinnamon (think teddy grahams, remember those?). TFA Graham Cracker Clear is cinnamon-free.
Hey! Being the noob I am I ordered about a dozen flavours, of course sporadically and with no strategy in mind.
I was just wondering if there was a website that had some form of flavour generator in it so to speak, so in theory you would add all flavours that you own into the generator and it would spit out what flavours you can create with the listed flavours.
What also would be fantastic would be a filter system where it would tell you if you could make a flavor but you're missing ingredient (1) or (2 ingredients) for example.
Does anyone know if there is anything like this available? Cheers and sorry if the answer is staring me in the face.
Hi! Guys, what is your favourite milk base for cereals? Just straight milk, seems hard for me to get this taste. Unfortunately, I've got access only to TPA/CAP flavors, no fancy FA/FW/JF/INW/whatever.

Didn't work TPA Bavarian Cream, Sweet Cream and Dairy Milk. Kinda worked CAP NY Cheesecake, but it wasn't the milk flavor I am looking for.
A combination of TFA or CAP Bavarian and TFA or CAP Sweet Cream was going to me my suggestion. There's an old "milkstone" recipe you can search for that also adds a tiny bit of coconut to that, never tried it but I can see it giving it more of milky feel.
What %'s were you using on the Bavarian and Sweet Cream?
I'm a Canuck, what can I purchase to safely remove oxygen from my 1 litre of 100ml nicotine so that I can store it safely in my freezer? The wine preserve spray in the sidebar is not available in Canada, or is incredibly overpriced
The act of placing it in the freezer is enough. I'd use an inert gas if I kept that large bottle outside of the freezer, but doing both is overkill.
I would however highly recommend splitting it up into smaller bottles, maybe 10 x 100 ml, since it's a lengthy process to thaw it out and shake it up, which would cause a lot of unnecessary exposure to the elements if you kept repeating the process with the same bottle.

Ya it's best to wait and buy multiple items from amazon at the same time so shipping will be the same but you're getting more stuff.
But iirc, nic, stored in freezer and left alone should last 2+ years. I bought amber glass bottles with twist tops that have a little rubber gasket thingy to seal in liquid and keep air out. No idea what the caps are called but they look like this. I also made sure to fill the glass amber bottles right up to the top, leaving just a smidgen of room for the rubber gasket thingy to sit in there so there was practically no air at all in the bottle when I screwed the cap on.

Got the cheap sample from Nude Nicotine.
Diluted to around 25mg/ml with VG. Used sample bottle to mix 1.5ml Peppermint essential oil, with 10 ml nic base.
Shaked, twirled and shaked some more.
