I'm an "out of the box" recipe kinda guy, but I definitely test my stuff before it gets posted. I started down the path of weird flavor pretty early, because most of what I found online to be kind of boring. I can't taste strawberry much, it's a struggle. Bakeries are nice now and again, but I mostly preferred fruits. I vaped simple fruits for almost a year until I discovered TFA Honeysuckle, then things went straight down and fast. Once I discovered my floral addiction, then it was on to the herbs, spices, teas, and earthy flavors. I have a few that might really start you in the right direction.

FLV Lovage: A root flavor. It's incredibly earthy and "green" Vegetal to be sure, and if you go too high on percentages you'll get wet, dark, kinda sweet salad. A bit of a woody aftertaste, reminiscent of TFA Red Oak. Noticeable in a mix starting at .2% and okay up to 1% I've seen it used up to 3% standalone but I've yet to test it that high. The only published recipes using this is a tobacco recipe but it turned out rather well. The Stixx mixx tobacco here is an NET I picked up from a friend, but you could sub in whatever tobacco you liked. There is also this one which is an earthy take on Rhubarb.

INW Rhubarb: Used very low it's a semi sweet, very tart Rhubarb flavor. If you use it much over .5% it starts to go the way of ultra tart celery flavor, which I find to be kinda pleasant if I counteract that with some heavier creams. I like to use HS Italian Cream as it's rather heavy but without all the vanilla/eggy custard notes.

TFA Black Tea: If you want REALLY earthy tea, this is the one you get. It's fairly potent, and if you go much over 2-3% it starts to taste like literal dirt.

FA Black Tea: I find this to be a bit nicer overall than TFA. Still an earthy tea flavor, but not as dirty as TFA. Right around 2-4% in a mix is just perfect, and you can sweeten it to taste. Goes really well with plums, dark berries, or some FA Bergamot for a great Earl Grey type.

FW Sassafras: Not super sweet on it's on. It's got all the herbal, woody tones you'd get from a root beer, but without the sickly sweetness of a soda flavor. Plays pretty well with others, and is good as high as 5% so far in testing. Not at all bad as a standalone either.

TFA Taro: Another root flavor. It's offensively strong, and really needs to be diluted at 10% before it can really be used in a mix. Slightly nutty, earthy, and there's a vague potato note if you take it too high. A bit sweeter than FLV Lovage, but it can be kinda fun to mess around with. I never got around to working it into a published recipe, but I do enjoy it on occasion.

TFA Green Tea: My favorite tea. It's got the spicy herbal notes I get from Matcha type green tea. Not ultra sweet, and it really pairs well with a ton of different stuff.

I could write 20 more pages on tobaccos so I'll leave that for another day, but they are generally of the more earthy/woodsy flavors. It'd also be worth your time to check out TFA Red Oak and FA Oakwood. Both have nice woody undertones that you can add to other recipes for some depth.

Typically when I want something earthy it's tobaccos or Green Tea (TFA). Green tea is the new kick I am on. Currently vaping an experimental Plum/Green Tea/ Cactus/ Lemon concoction. It's marvelous.

You may want to dabble in tobacco flavors. Maybe even bourbon. Cucumber may help. Along with nutty flavors. It'll take some testing to find at what percent you get less flavor and more "tones"

I think FA black tea is nice on its own at 3%. It's earthy with a dry taste but it still feels refreshing like a drink. Tastes like an earthy black tea

TFA Taro has that earthy taste. Same goes for TFA Mary Jane.

I've been starting to get a lot in to earth tones lately and they are very intriguing mixes. So far my favorite of the lot was the recipe I submitted for the MIXXED! contest (link here). I also really enjoy my Summertime which is more on the floral end of the earth spectrum.

I guess it really depends on what kind of earth vape you're looking for, but things like tobacco, fig, teas, and florals are a good place to start. Other than that, as far as like grass and what not, check out Lovage root by FLV, rhubarb recipes, and FA Zen Garden.

Lemon Grass by Flavorah also has a grass note but obviously light lemon as well. Any green tea flavor should provide that as well. (TFA Green tea, so far is my preferred) *Edited as it already seems I replied to this below...
