Flavor Properties
Alright here we go. Pumpkin spice, a combination of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. This particular flavoring is heavy on the cinnamon and you get an earthy, woody, flavoring along with that cinnamon, which is very realistic in that regard.
Nutmeg is tricky, especially with all these other flavorings going on, but I'm definitely getting the perception of nutmeg.
The clove is almost non-existent which is perfect for me, as most pumpkin spice or holiday spice flavorings are far too heavy on the clove. Clove is a flavoring that is hard to do in small amounts and I would commend Flavor West for near leaving it out of this pumpkin spice. I taste it but it's just a whisper. With all other pumpkin spice flavorings I have tested, there is an overpowering clove that needs to be dumped down.
As far as the pumpkin flavoring goes, I'm not getting any squash. This more of a mixture of spices but it is creamy and dense along with the spices, giving some perception of a nice thick pumpkin pie with just an idea of the actual squash flavoring.
Relatable Flavors
Flavoring reminds me of the spices that go in pumpkin pie. As far as a standalone pumpkin pie flavor, it's going to need some help..
Position In The Recipe
This flavoring could be very useful as an accent, but I feel the intent behind the flavoring was to make it a base flavor, and build off that. It's going to need some help.
Off Flavors
Super dusty cinnamon and nutmeg combination was a little off-putting but authentic. After vaping about 5 milliliters, I'm unclear whether I would consider this an off flavor or just a really authentic representation of spices.
Pairings
Fruits, berries, bakeries, vanilla, coffee, cream, and maybe some candies such as caramel and butterscotch.
Could also pair well with a lot of other herb and spice flavorings.
Notes
I purchased several of these flavorings looking to make a spiced latte or pumpkin chocolate chip cookie. I'm afraid that the search goes on for that pumpkin flavoring I'm looking for to do the chocolate chip cookie.
Here is a little information from Wikipedia if you're interested:

Oh look there's allspice in here as well. That may also have been added to the dusty flavoring.

Pumpkin Pie spice is supposed to have ginger. I've heard there's no ginger in this and you don't mention any ginger. I'm guessing I've heard correctly? Do you have a recommendation for a ginger flavor that can make it a proper pumpkin pie spice, with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and ginger?
Definitely no ginger in fw pumpkin spice. I tested it with NF ginger and FW ginger. I was really surprised at how good the FW ginger was. The NF ginger is good, but too natural/fresh to pair with pumpkin spice, imho.
Hs Ginger is supposed to be nice I don't have that one, I have been playing around with flavor West Ginger very realistic and more of that fresh ginger Not dryed ground ginger flavor. And my favorite for just that hint of Ginger is FLV gingersnap which would add a nice Bakery note to a pumpkin pie crust. 4% is where I usually start. one of their weaker offerings
I really enjoy this flavor. I use it in my Pumpkin Spice recipe:
- 4% FW Pumpkin Spice
- 3% TFA Gingerbread
- 2% TFA Chai Tea
- 0.25% FW Ginger
- 0.25% FLV Rich Cinnamon
Awesome review! So far, this is my favorite pumpkin spice flavoring. I really wanted it to have a bit more thick/full/creamy texture, but it doesn't have much of that at all. This is why I've been struggling with a pumpkin pie recipe and have been leaning more towards a pumpkin ice cream recipe. I am not done with this recipe, but so far it looks like this:
FW Pumpkin Spice 3%
FW Sweet Cream 0.5%
FW VBIC 3%
TFA Graham Cracker Clear 0.5%
TFA Pie Crust 0.5%
CAP Vanilla Custard V1 2%
Sometimes I'll thrown in some CAP NY Cheesecake 2% to get a little bit of this action going on.
I was thinking about this a lot,not in this recipe but most pumpkin spices. Defintely have to get a custard base, maybe a milk and then the pumpkin spices. I don't know but some type of milky undertone to keep the pumpkin spice in check. Excellent recipe btw, I need to get some more FW Pumpkin Spice.
Edit: not related to your recipe but pumpkin spice in general
What was this is been sitting on my shelf waiting for me to test it for about a month and now that I finally got around to it. I'm thinking for sure some cheesecake to make the pumpkin stand out and maybe something like marshmallow or cap custard v1
I found this flavor to have an over all nutmeg and allspice profile. It worked well in combining it pumpkin pie spice from cap for the extra woody chai type flavor and then the cinnamon danish swirl to boost the rich cinnamon profile.
Thanks for these reviews , very helpful . I just had Hangsen's Pumpkin Pie come in and that has no spices at all .
It is 100% pure pumpkin filler i believe . Not what i was hoping for , will probably put it up for trade.
