Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of October 28, 2016
submitted almost 9 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

I really wish you had just a few more flavors I'd be able to give you some suggestions. Almost everything you have is a base to a recipe I make but your missing the accents. Also you have some odd versions of flavors (Ie organic strawberry vs the typically used strawberrys) Some really clutch things you need to get in to your flavor supply are "cotton candy" "cheesecake Graham Crust" "bubblegum" "strawberry Ripe" "marshmallow" "blueberry wild" "sweetner" and more stuff you'll pick up as you progress. You could try some 2 flavor mixes. The strawberry and banana (I feel like those 2 flavors might be bitter without sweetners) maybe, strawberry and peach, blueberry+cheesecake+circus cotton candy maybe. Just try not to get too crazy and overflavor your juices. 15% would be a good total to stick around. I wish you had just a few more flavors. Good luck though. I didn't see anyone reply maybe one of the more seasoned mixers can step in with some solid advice for you bro.

It was my first time so I didn't know which type or strawberry or cheesecake to get. I will definitely order more concentrates soon. Thanks for the advice though.

CAP New York Cheesecake is really good. TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust is kind of similar but seems a tad bit less sweet. These both have the Cheesecake plus the Crust flavor to them which really defines the taste. CAP sweet strawberry, TFA Strawberry Ripe, TFA Strawberry are decent strawberry flavors to pick up. You'll find these to become a lot of your base flavors for different recipes. Cotton Candy (not the circus) works well as a sweetner at very low percentages. Blueberry extra is good, but I like Blueberry wild a lot better. I can mix the BB wild by itself and vape it all day. one of the flavors you did get that I like is the Juicy Peach, if you pick up some Barvarian Cream and Marshmallow you can mix up a really good peaches n cream with it. If you want anymore advice just let me know or send a Pm I'd be glad to help

I'm going to go with the same suggestions made by /u/BlazeDemBeatz because they're solid suggestions IMO, except for the one with Cheesecake, because that flavor is very disgusting and probably should never be used for anything except getting revenge on your enemies, but I'll help you out with some %'s as well.

Banana 4% + Organic Strawberry 3%

Juicy Peach 3% + Organic Strawberry 3%

Blueberry Extra 4% + Circus Cotton Candy 2%

2 points

by nucky925almost 9 years ago

So for the banana/strawberry it would be 7% concentrates and the rest VG/PG then nicotine?

3 points

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

Yes, that is correct. You commonly see recipes in the 10 to 15% flavor range and sometimes even see 20+, but that's not always necessary or advisable. Some of the best have as little as 4% total flavor. If you try a small batch of one of these and think the flavor is good but there needs to be more of it, make the next batch with 1 to 2% more of whichever of the two flavors you think there needs to be more of.

2 points

by BlazeDemBeatzalmost 9 years agoMentholatier

Lol, I know the cheesecake was prob bad choice I just figured since he had it... I think if he makes another purchase with some of the flavors i reccomended he'd be in a lot better shape to together some decent stuff though. A lot of those he picked up are more bitter tasting without sweeteners also which is kind of rough.

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

This is exactly why we tell people who are just starting out to find recipes they want to make and get the flavors to make those, make them, then play around with the flavors, rather than just picking out flavors that sound good.

Hello there, I've been at a loss now for over a week vaping premium juices I hate and feel exhausted at making a cereal vape. A corn flakes recipe is now at square 1. Here's my flavors:

List

Any help is greatly appreciated 😊

1 points

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

You want to make a corn flakes recipe?

Try 2% Acetyl Pyrazine, 2% FA Caramel, 2% TFA Graham Cracker Clear, 2% FA Marshmallow, and 0.25% TFA Brown Sugar. May require some adjustment of %'s after the first batch, but those flavors should get you there. Want to make it taste like corn flakes in milk? Add 2% FA Cream Fresh to that.

For slightly different type of cereal, try: 1.5% Acetyl Pyrazine, 1% Cream Fresh, 0.75% Brown Sugar, 1% Yellow Cake, 2% Caramel, 1.25% Graham Cracker Clear, 2% Ethyl Maltol, 1% FW Hazelnut, 2% Meringue.

Want to take a break from cereal vapes?

Try:

4% FA Kiwi, 4% TFA Champagne, 2% FA Marshmallow

or

4% FA Kiwi, 2% FA Meringue, 1.5% FA Marshmallow, 1% CAP New York Cheesecake, 1% Graham Cracker Clear

I thought about it some more and changed the corn flakes and milk idea from 2.5% Cream Fresh to 2% Cream Fresh.

You're welcome but I don't know about all that hero stuff. Let's see if any of those taste remotely good to you first.

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

I'll take a look at all the posts here tomorrow. Just glancing at yours, could you edit and make it more readable first by at least hitting enter twice after each flavor?

Also fair warning all those V2 flavors are going to make it difficult for me, personally, to help you very much because I don't use those, but there's a good chance someone else will.

Also, if you're new at dessert recipes but not at other recipes, and you have other flavors, list those as well.

I posted yesterday on last week's thread but just in case someone didn't see it, I'll repost it here.

I've been tried most of the top-rated recipes available for these flavors on AFT & ELR and I guess I'm very difficult...

I really liked Mechsauce - Luckyarms, but all the Lucky Charms clones I've tried have some unbearable harshness and/or are very muted.

I also liked Twelve Monkeys Kanzi and Mangabeys, Kanzi clones are all quite good (simple recipe, Kiwi+Strawberry+Watermelon) but all Mangabeys clones are not anywhere close.

Probably just a coincidence but, all the juices I liked so far, happened to be clear of have a very slight tint.

First, I wanna make a White Goblin, but I don't have the right "companies". The original says:

10% Vanilla Cupcake - TPA

8% Strawberry (Ripe) - TPA

2% White Chocolate - FW

But I have Vanilla Cupcake V2 from Capella, Strawberry Ripe like the recipe from TPA and White Chocolate from TPA - can someone help me out with the %?

Other than that, I'm a beginner and don't have much flavors, but ideas always welcome as I wanna mix a bit tonight:

TPA:

Strawberry

Strawberry (ripe)

Banana Cream

Bavarian Creme

Cheesecake

Dragonfruit

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

CAP:

HiLiq:

Blueberry

Raspberry

Strawberry

Apple Ice

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

Capella Vanilla Cupcake tastes good but I think it's a little stronger than TFA's. I'm assuming the V2 version is the similar. I would try dropping it down to 8%. TFA White Chocolate is also stronger than FW White Chocolate, I'd try lowering that to 1%.

You can also make:

FizzMustard's Famous Mustard Milk: 8% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 6% Strawberry. Although I prefer it with the %'s reversed, and you might as well.

Also try one of these:

4% TPA Strawberry, 4% TPA Strawberry Ripe, 1% Dragonfruit, 3% Bavarian Cream, 3% Vanilla Cupcake V2

4% TPA Strawberry, 4% TPA Strawberry Ripe, 4% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 2.5% Bavarian Cream

7% Dragonfruit, 2% Strawberry Ripe, 3% Bavarian Cream, 1% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

5.5% Strawberry Ripe, 1.5% TPA Strawberry, 5% Dragonfruit

6% Banana Cream, 4% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 2% Strawberry Ripe

You've got a nice looking collection of flavors there. Try one of these, if they aren't already on your list:

God Milk

Mother Of Dragons' Milk

Magic Juice

Mustard Milk

SBIC

My Dude

Also, try all of your flavors individually. Really get to know them, and you'll know which ones you want to mix together into your own recipes and which ones you'll use to tweak others' recipes to your own taste. There's a great post about that here:

Need a good cream base for use with a dark coffee mix. Please advise. Tried mixing with just Vienna Cream at 2% and it wasn't thick/creamy/layered/sexy enough for me. Picked up these other ones to enhance with and will single flav test em all but in the meantime maybe someone can put me on the fast track.

I have:

  • Bavarian Cream TPA
  • Dulce De Leche TPA
  • Vienna Cream TPA
  • Cheesecake Graham Cracker Clear TPA
  • Marshmallow FLV

I know this is a super basic question but I usually only mix fairly hardcore cigar, pipe and ciggy tobacco blends so I'm a noob with everything else.

1 points

by ID10-Talmost 9 years ago

Hi, T_Mace. It's strange seeing you here. I'd start simple, just TFA Bavarian Cream 4%. After you try that in your mix, you'll know if it needs to be fuller and sweeter (0.5% to 1% FLV Marshmallow) or lighter like coffee with frothed milk (1 to 2% Vienna Cream) or more malty. As for that, as far as I know there is no "Cheesecake Graham Cracker Clear" - there's Cheesecake Graham Crust and Graham Cracker Clear. Cheesecake Graham Crust would be an excellent addition for that at 1 to 2%. Rather than just making one or more of those additions to the Bav Cream, you might want to lower the Bav Cream to 3% to kind of "make room" for them.

2 points

by T_Macealmost 9 years agoTobacconist

S'up ID10-T! It's strange being here hehe. I scrolled down and answered a question before posting mine to even things up a bit. All in all, I'm still technically a beginner tho since it's only been about 5 months and I've spent all of that time in the tobacco dungeons. I searched for cream base in this sub and ELR but wanted a suggestion from a trusted source so the fact that it's you answering is perfect.

Thanks for the help. I'll definitely take the approach you suggested. Getting a frothed milk out of it would be super.

> Cheesecake Graham Crust

That's what I meant, brain fart :)

I would not have guessed that it's only been 5 months for you. Thanks for answering a question in this thread. I think people forget about it sometimes, but it can really be a big help. Try this: 7% Mango, 3% Strawberry Ripe, 3% Bavarian Cream. It won't be super because that mango flavor is not the best mango flavor, but it shouldn't be terrible. That's probably going to be the best you can do with just those three flavors.

Also try mixing a strawberry with a little cream (7% Strawberry Ripe, 4% Bavarian Cream) and cream with a little strawberry (5% Bavarian Cream, 3% Strawberry Ripe).

Try 5% sugar cookie, 1-2% cinn danish, 2% meringue

2% fa apple pie, 1% cookie, 3% ny cheesecake, 2% vanilla whipped

2% each french vanilla, cupcake, vbic, vanilla whipped cream. (Vanilla overload hehe)

V2 flavors need at least 2 weeks steep, and maybe more. And some of your flavors I don't know. And if you would, delete the list from the monthly thread post.

And lastly, I'll summon /u/ID10-T, because he is very good at simple.

I'm good at simple? Coming from you I'll take that as a huge compliment, thank you.

Edit: Unfortunately what definitely I'm not good at is V2s.

Hehe, it would have been more correct to say that you have a great knack for pairing flavors. I have picked up a few of your suggestions from this weekly thread.

It doesn't matter how long a person has been doing a particular thing, there is ALWAYS something new to be learned:)

Post as if it were v1. I will just sub with v2.

I tried your recipe you suggested me earlier which was 4% marzipan 2% COokie and 1% meringue..it was ok as a shake n vape but the flavor was mild so i added 2% inawera creme brulee and cap super sweet 2 drops per 15 ml to it for a little more body.

In addition to what /u/Coop34 suggested, try:

4% FA Apple Pie + 3% Marzipan.

AND

4.5% CAP Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 3% Vanilla Whipped Cream, 1% FA Cookie, and 1 to 2% X.

What is X? Whatever you want it to be. You could use any of your other flavors there, just mind the steep times on those V2's.

Hi all, I've just received my first batch of flavours, and I've made the Honeypearry clone that hit the reddit about a year ago, as well as a couple of mixes of my own. I'm learning a lot from what I've been doing (such as TFA Apricot is VERY strong...), but I was wondering what you gurus could come up with as suggestions for me as a bit of inspiration. So, here's my list:

INW Peach

CAP Juicy Peach

CAP Blackberry

TFA Pear

FA Fresh Cream

TFA Apricot

TFA Honeydew

TFA Kentucky Bourbon

TFA Pie Crust

TFA Raspberry Sweet

FA Liquid Amber

TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust

TFA Koolada

FA Lemon Sicily

FW Blood Orange

TFA Strawberry Ripe

FLV Greek Yogurt

TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

TFA Graham Cracker Clear

FA Vienna Cream

TFA Bavarian Cream

CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl

FA Fuji Apple

FA Meringue

So, anyone want to take a stab or two at them? The more the merrier. I'm curious to try them all.

Best, Magnus.

If you haven't already, try INW Peach all by itself at two different percents, 1.5% and 3%. You'll notice a big difference between the two but both should be enjoyable.

You can use the combination of your two peaches to make a yummy peach cobbler a la mode: 1.75% INW Peach, 1% CAP Juicy Peach, 0.5% Liquid Amber, 1.5% TFA Pie Crust, 4% TFA Bavarian Cream, 2% CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl, 4% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

Blackberry Cobbler: 2.75% CAP Blackberry, 1% TFA Kentucky Bourbon, 1.5% TFA Pie Crust, 4% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 1% Meringue.

Spiced Pear with Cream: 4% TFA Pear, 5% Bavarian Cream, 2% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 2% Cinnamon Danish Swirl.

Berry Cream Blend: 1% FA Cream Fresh, 1% Apricot, 3% Raspberry Sweet, 8% Strawberry Ripe, 5% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

Apricot Cream: 2% Apricot, 3% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 1% Cream Fresh

Peachy Pear Dew: 5% Pear, 2% Honeydew, 1% INW Peach, 0.5% Fuji Apple

Apple Pie Bourbon: 1.5% Fuji Apple, 4% Kentucky Bourbon, 1.5% Cinnamon Danish Swirl

Cinnamon Apple Pastry: 5% Cinnamon Danish Swirl, 3% Fuji, 0.5% Liquid Amber, 3% Bavarian Cream, 1% Meringue

Lemon Cheesecake: 4% Lemon Sicily, 3% Cheesecake Graham Crust, 2% Meringue, 2% Bavarian Cream

Icy Orange Berry: 2% FW Blood Orange, 4% Strawberry Ripe, 0.5% Apricot, 0.5% Koolada

Vanilla Yogurt: 4% FLV Greek Yogurt, 4% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 1% Cream Fresh, 1% Meringue

Graham Cracker Snacker: 3% Graham Cracker Clear, 2% Fresh Cream, 1% Vienna Cream

None of those are perfected, but if you've tested all your flavors you should be able to try a couple of them that appeal to you in small batches and tell what you'll need to change to make them suit your taste better in subsequent attempts.

Thanks so much, ID10-T! These are wonderful suggestions. And 12 of them, too. I was expecting 3, 4 max - so this is a wonderful boon to me. I can't wait to get some of them mixed up tomorrow. And yes, I have done my testings. Did all those the first 3 days of owning them. I'll let you know how it goes.

I wanted to give you something to do with each of your concentrates (I think I got them all in there somewhere) and also tried to keep most of them simple after that first one.
