hi diy_ejuice, I'm back with another recipe for my favorite subreddit. I drunkenly concocted a fucking DELICIOUS vanilla custard the other night (alcohol brings out the best in us all)
drink of choice: rum and coke - vape craving of choice: vanilla custard.
I give you CREME BURLY, let's get to the meat of it, shall we?
-
CAPELLA VANILLA CUSTARD - 6.5% - 8%
This is the bones of it, the reigning champion of vanilla custards. CAP VC will never forsake our palates. -
FLAVORAH VANILLA CUSTARD - 2.5%
What the fuck, this shit is so good. I'm in awe, my 15 ml bottle was literally collecting dust, I feel like I've discovered a new fetish. This is -- as everyone says, a delicious pudding type custard. It's not as diacetyl-y but it still gives Capella's a run for its money. -
FLAVORAH BUTTERSCOTCH - .5%
FLV Butterscotch is going to add that succulent dollop of buttery flavoring in this custard, it seriously enhances the burnt sensation to the overall creme brulee taste. I love it, and there isn't a butterscotch that tops Flavorah's. I know that not many of you guys are going to have this, so please do yourselves a favor and pick it up, it's great with CAP Sugar Cookie. You MIGHT be able to substitute it with TFA Caramel (2%), FW Butterscotch (5%), or FW Caramel Candy (5%) (percentages based of current knowledge of flavorings) -
CAPELLA BUTTER CREAM - 3%
Butter Cream is a staple to all of my cream bases. Who doesn't love butter cream frosting on their cakes? This is a great replica of that exact taste, and it's going to make sweet sex with our Capella VC. -
CAPELLA GRAHAM CRACKER - 2.5%
a weird flavoring. It's like a Honey Maid Cinnamon Graham Cracker, but soaked in butter. You're not going to notice the cinnamon notes at this low of a percentage, but this is a creme brulee recipe, so you may notice it augments the burnt taste of it. -
THE FLAVOR APPRENTICE WHIPPED CREAM - 1.5%
I like this stuff. It's smooth, makes your plumes more thick and white, AND it's way cheaper than Vape Wizard. I think it should be in all creams, even at a super low percent. It tones down the alcoholy-ness in Flavorah's concentrates. -
THE FLAVOR APPRENTICE COTTON CANDY - 2%
The whetstone to sharpen the blade of our creme brulee, this is going to be the blowtorch that adds the burned crust at the top of our creamy mixture, albeit it's gonna sweeten it a bit, but who's complaining?
FINAL NOTES
Man, this is such a compelling vape. I hope you guys dig it as much as I do. It's only a couple of days old and I'm vaping the everliving fuck out of it, the alcohol taste from the FLV concentrates have finally dissipated, I'd recommend steeping it for a couple of days to counter that, but it's a great shake and vape. Capella and Flavorah vanilla custards play so well together, that they were best friends in elementary school, I highly recommend blending the two in your next custard mix. This is also a flexible recipe. You could drop the whipped cream and a banana cream for a JTJM creme brulee, or even add some sweetener if you're into that kind of thing. (2% TFA, CAP's makes your balls shrink) I guarantee that CAP Sugar Cookie would be an awesome addition too.
That graham cracker is going to come through with a vengeance. I have a custard alot in the same. Butterscotch, a little creme brulee. And capella graham cracker... at 1.5% it isn't too bad for a few days. Then that shit comes through, and keeps coming through. Could be just me though.
I second that. I can vape 2% graham as a stand alone. In a couple weeks this stuff is going to start ripping through all that custard. I probably wouldn't use more than 0.5% in a mix with strong flavors. 0.3% in lighter creams, custards, and cheesecake flavors.
Anytime I see CAP VC + Graham Cracker I instantly pop a boner. Such a dope combo. Can't wait to check this out.
Much praise, such hype. Wow.
Solid looking recipe though. Have you tried FA Catalan Cream? I don't like it solo, but for creme brulee recipes it has some nice, spicy and suprisingly complex "burnt" sugar taste. The flavor comes through heavier custard bases even at lower percentages, not much is needed.
Great write up! Flv definitely killed it with their Vanilla Custard and Butterscotch. This looks delicious. I'm going to mix it up tonight.
Thanks for sharing!
Sometimes I think mixers post this shit up to make me broke, sounds amazing man, and I'm not even a fan boy of custards. gonna put this on my next order and give it a whirl.
AFAIK, no FLV concentrate contains any ethyl alcohol. Caps do, however.
not sure, it gets foamy when I shake them.
A lot of concentrates get foamy when you shake them, lol. Rich Cinnamon is a perfect example of that, & foaminess is definitely not an indicator of ethyl alcohol. When was the last time you saw a bottle of rum/vodka/everclear get foamy when shaken?
I've had terrible luck getting FLV flavors to work so I've sworn off buying any more for a while but this one looks good. I have everything but FLV VC, can this be made to work without it?
