JF Yellow Cake Review

Setup: tsunami; Fused Clapton .4Ω; cotton wicks; 85W

Testing: JF Yellow Cake aged:0 days Mixed at: 70/30 vg/pg

Flavor description: Tastes like a rich moist yellow cake. No overly baked notes. It does have a very "Yellow" flavor to it at 5%. The thickness you would expect from a cake is here. It is not lacking on any moistness either. It has the moisture, baked cake flavor and the iconic yellow flavor right up front. For a single flavor mix it is pretty strong and very close to an authentic yellow cake flavor.

Off-flavors: I can taste no off flavors are aren't common with a yellow cake when used at 5%

Throat hit: Nothing of note/ incredibly smooth

Uses: As one of the few people that hates FW Yellow Cake I've been looking for a suitable sub for it for a while. I think this is it. This would go great with anything that needs a plain cake flavor note. Try subbing this flavor in for FW YC and see how it works. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm impressed with this flavor; it's better than I expected.

Note: I will update this review if I find this flavor changes at all with a steep. Shaked and vaped it is incredibly good and not lacking at all.

Recipe: Mediocre FuckNut - A Jelly Filled Donut

FA WOW - 3%

JF Sweet Strawberry - 1%

FA Joy - .5%

TFA Cheesecake GC - 1%

JF Yellow Cake - 1%

Pretty good shake and vape but needs a couple days for the FA Wow to, well, wow you.

i am enjoying this stuff more then i ever enjoyed fw yellow cake. its just a plus that it isnt 30% fructose.

I think it's finally safe to say we have a FW Yellow Cake killer here. The hype is real imho.

Just subbed it in Rhodonite... the shake and vape is excellent, so excited to see how it's going to steep.

As far as strength goes, do you think it will be a 1 to 1 substitute for FW YC?

This is something I was having a hard time deciding. I believe in most cases it should be able to be used 1:1. They seem to be very similar in terms of strength. The baked "Yellow" flavor could be a bit more forward compared to FW's Yellow Cake if used any higher than 1%. I haven't tested it so I could be wrong.

I edited the main post with a recipe and added 1% yellow cake in a recipe to test it and see if it could be used 1:1.

JF Yellow Cake seems to do exactly what FW Yellow Cake does at 1%. It adds a background baked cake flavor.

Yellow Cake and sweet strawberry are fantastic.

I hate Capella's sweet strawberry; tastes like burnt strawberry candy to me.

JF sweet strawberry is awesome. Everything Cap's isn't.

Flavor Jungle's domain seems to be registered to the same company that ECX is, I'm more interested in the source for a lot of these. They seem to have the same lineup as Flavor West.

Has anyone done the background on this?

(EDIT) - The only reason this comes up is we know that ECX uses Medicine Flower as a Lotus flavors line, and the ECX Signature is TFA. Just makes me wonder if its a type of re-branding to keep an idea in the future?

Looking through their line up I noticed the same thing. Makes me very curious. ECX is framing it as they are the manufacturers of the brand but seems a little outlandish to me. Considering how many flavor engineers you need for that. (Which costs a very pretty shiny penny). Here's my opinion. They signed a contract to be the sole distributors for JF in the US and they allowed ECX to advertise for them. Thus creating more of a dominance in the market for a reseller.

The only thing I "know" is they are a German company. I've googled Jungle Flavors and they do indeed have a website but I was unable to find any info on their place of manufacture. So I'm unable to confirm that.

I too would love to hear how they "magically" came about with some top of the line flavors.

ECX owns JF(they bought out JF), but they want it to seem separated because of the FDA.

They didn't just "magically" come out with top tier concentrates, they've been working on formulating these 3-6 months or so.

Just used your 'Mediocre FuckNut' recipe as a shake and vape, tastes great. You really get the fruity jelly on the inhale and the cakey/donut on the exhale. I'll be mixing up 100mls later today to steep for a week. Really good job there man!
