So I ordered all the equipment I needed and flavors that were suggested for the beginner's kit found here (plus some for recipes I found) and yesterday I made a trial 10ml of a Peach Gummy Rings recipe.
I decided to try it just shake and vape. At first it tasted a little peppery, but I came to find out that was just the residuals of the flavor prior I had in my tank (should rinse off my Cleito coil better when switching flavors). After a few pulls to clear our the old flavor, it was AMAZING!! Tastes EXACTLY like eating a peach gummy ring! I made a 60ml that I'll be using for ADV. I can't wait to taste the flavor once it steep for a week.
I'm quite proud of myself, and for other beginners... Mixing by weight is highly recommended. It's much less harrowing that way.
I've been really thinking about trying DIY. This helped boost my motivation to give it a shot and order some supplies. Thanks!
Seriously, do it. I put off for so long. I kick myself for not doing it sooner. The upfront cost may be high depending on what all you get, but just the savings alone make it completely worth it
its funny how everyone who starts mixing their own liquids think to themselves "WHY HAVE I WAITED THIS LONG TO DO THIS".
My buddy started mixing his own about 4 years ago and he pushed me to do it for like a year. I kept saying no it's too complicated and I don't want that extra hassle, making excuse after excuse. Finally I said f it and threw together a $100 order with a few of the popular recipes of the time.
Got everything in and mixed them up, loaded my dripper and vaped away.
Guess what I said.
Definitely do your research before buying flavors. Find a few recipes that are higher rated and order flavors based off of those. Research flavors to see which ones are better than others. Remember that flavor is all subjective to the person. Also try and find different sources for nicotine, VG/PG, and flavors.
I definitely like to buy random flavors to see what I can whip up, but it also results in a bunch of unused flavors.
I think I spent like $90 initially and then two weeks later spent like another $80 on more flavorings and I've made more than 1000ml of juice and it's all been super good except for a few that I tried to make randomly mixing things and those weren't even horrible either. $170 for an entire liter of juice compared to the almost $600 I would have spent on juice from a store is crazy and I still have so much stuff left to keep making juice.
What was the recipe you used for peach gummy rings
Nice, good job! Glad to hear that your first experience was a good one as that not the case a lot of the time.
Thank you! I did a lot of research before jumping into it. I took my time, made a plan of attack, and just went for it. I look forward to making more flavors!
Awesome! I just jumped and made my first order from wizard labs. 1 gal VG, 120ml nic, a ton of 8ml flavor samples (will have to order more later) and some misc supplies like bottles. I hope i get the same results, im upset i've been vaping for years and am a DIY'er and havent jumped on this yet. I buy cheap liquids as is but DIY even makes those look expensive!
