Just placed my first DIY order. Umm no NIC in PA?
submitted almost 9 years ago by 675triumphtriple

I have taken the plunge. Sadly I can't support my shops here with the new tax and I can't see them staying in business.

I ordered about 15 flavors all about 10ml and 250ml of base. The problem is that ecigexpress won't sell nic to PA residents. I have some 24 nic flavorless juice to hold me over. Can I not get 100mg nic in PA or do I have to order from another company?

Ya just order somewhere else. Nude nic is really great. It's what I use and I'm in PA

Haven't had a problem getting nic in PA. Just got some the other day. Order from a different supplier.

That is what I will do. Kinda odd though. They wouldn't even sell 24 nic, but no problem selling 24 nic with flavoring?!

http://www.carolinaxtract.com/

I have ordered from them twice now, and they are amazing. I can't speak for the other brands, but carolina is really high quality. The 120ml 100mg PG sample bottles are a good deal.

Can confirm. Currently draining a 100mg/mL batch of 120mL VG nic. Very clean taste, well-packaged, and great experience with the shop. 10/10 will buy again.

Why do they charge like 12$ to ship a 120ml bottle though? Was gonna place an order recently until I saw the shipping price. No other nic I bought charged out of the ordinary shipping prices.

Hmm... I'm in PA also and haven't had that issue. Though it's been about 2 months since I last bought nicotine, and that was from Nude Nicotine. As far as I know there's nothing specific to prevent them from shipping here, but it's not unheard of that the company may suspend PA sales in light of the complications with the new laws here.

Technically, if you import to PA, even for DIY you are supposed to report that and volunteer your 40% tax. I don't think eCigexpress has a physical presence in PA, so I'm not sure what they have to gain by restricting shipping but they may just be airing on the side of caution.

/u/enyawreklaw may have some insight on this. I believe he's based out of PA and is probably way more familiar with the effects of the law than I am.

Yeah I'm out in Philly and I never had an issue getting anything sent to me. I use liquidbarn for my bases too, but other products like juice and hardware there's no issue and I've yet to see someone not ship to PA. /u/675triumphtriple I hear you on not being able to support the PA shops. All the shops near me are pretty much on their last legs, have no stock, and don't even seem like they want to work in vaping anymore. A fucking shame that our own governments have created such a dystopia for one of the greatest medical advances in human history. If you plan to write on your taxes what you've purchased out of state, go right ahead but it seems a bit unnecessary.

That's a shame. My vape shop in Pittsburgh pretty much decided to just eat the loss, and prices on juice haven't gone up. It's a wholesale tax after all, not retail.

I went to preferred vapor last week and they had almost nothing on the shelves. They are trying to blow everything out before the 40% tax on existing stock kicked in. They told me their other location down the road was selling premiums for 50% off. I would be surprised if they stuck around, but you never know. I haven't been back there since and likely won't be setting foot into another store in PA. The other place down the road is Darth Vapor (not maker). They make great juices and only sell their own. Its about $7 or so for a 30mil, even less when you buy more. Anyway, their staff didn't even know about the tax and would not talk about it or how they would proceed. Kinda odd. I would be concerned if it was my job.

Yep. You are correct :

Wayne is an unincorporated community located on the Main Line, centered in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States.

That's why I started DIY for the same reason. The price for ejuice was already border line @ the amount I was using. When I first started I was only using a few ml but once I upgraded to sub ohm tanks I started running thru ejuice pretty fast. @ 10-15 ml a day and 15$ a bottle its already a bit too expensive. That's not including premiums that run a few dollars more and that is before they added in the tax. As far as the shops go, they are all going to close. I was there a few days ago hanging out at a reputable one here and even they think it's only a matter of time. Aside from the 40% tax, which they decided to just take a hit on and keep their prices the same, they said that the govt plans on making them purchase a liscense for every ejuice flavor they make, and when they have 100s of flavors it's extremely unreasonable and the math was over $3m for liscenses. So yeah DIY is the way to go. others have provided sources for you to purchase nicotine so I won't just repeat them but yeah. Good luck w your new hobby lol
