Notes (mixed @ 80/20 1.5mg) I recently ordered most of Flavorah's newest offerings, although I haven't gotten many of them in 10ml sample bottles for my single flavor tests, I can already tell they've got a coupled gems that I will definitely be reordering.
Pumpkin Bread - the star of the show, pumpkin bread makes up the majority of the base of the recipe. It adds a solid amount of mouth feel, and a decent amount of cinnamon/ nutmeg spice. I was very impressed with how well balanced, potent, and accurate to the description this flavor is. I haven't tried any other pumpkins but i don't really fell like I need to. (I originally started @ 1.5% and felt that the pumpkin notes where getting slightly drowned out, settled @ 2%)
**Apple Filling** - this is an accent on the top note. A sharp sweet apple that offsets the dense deep profile of the rest of the recipe. Quite different from FA Fuji, apple filling seems more sweet and fairly crisp, but not really tart IMO. I can't wait to play around with with this flavor, and really get to know it better.
**Frosting/ Cream** - I used these too flavors to help sweeten the end of the exhale, add to the dense mouth feel and mend all the flavors together. Frosting has a light sweet airiness to it, kind of like Marsh mellow but with more vanilla cream and sugar. All together they give a rich yet fluffy vanilla gloss to finish of the dense cake profile.
**Rich Cinnamon** - If you haven't tried it yet then you're failing at life. I felt as though Pumpkin bread could use just a hair more spice, rich cin. seemed as though it was the obvious choice. 0.15 % wont over take any of the recipe, it just lends a helping hand to the already prevalent spices.
Conclusion All of my friends (even the ones who don't like cinnamon) have thoroughly enjoyed this recipe so far, which is why i felt like it deserved a post. The recipe its self is pretty simple and lets the flavors do all the work. I put it together by simply smelling all my new flavors the day they came in the mail and used my nose to match flavors that i thought would go well together.
This sounds really good, especially for those brisk mornings some of us have been experiencing lately! FLV Pumpkin Bread sounds pretty solid compared to other pumpkin flavors out there.
I have a rather odd request for you. If you don't have time, I understand, but I was wondering if you would be interested in mixing a few of these ingredients up as single flavors and reviewing them for our Flavor Reviews wiki? I think your notes are excellent and that you would do an fine job of dissecting individual flavors.
Thank you for your kind words! Truly means alot coming from a man whose provided me with a wealth of knowledge. And yes, this mix is excellent for the cold season thats coming upon us.
Although I'm currently working 2 jobs and clocking. 70 hour work weeks I was definitely planing on contributing to the wiki. I have almost all of FLVs new offerings and Ive barely tried any of them yet. Once my new batch of 10ml bottles come in my plan is to bang out 5 a week.
Righteous man. With those hours, 1 or 2 a week might be tough to do! Like I said though, if you don't find time, no biggie. I am interested to see how some of these new FLV flavorings stack up against some cheaper alternatives.
eh I'm still young and sleep has not yet become a necessity. so far Ive played around with cookies & cream, donut, biscotti, marshmallow treat, and strawberry filling. not sure if their worth their price tag but most of them seem to have a place in my flavor arsenal. (besides biscotti, its a shittier INW waffle (which i never liked in the first place))
That recipe sounds great. Unfortunately I don't have the scratch right now to order all the flavorings. Just a suggestion for my personal taste though, maybe try adding a little bit of LA cream cheese icing. I love pumpkin bars with a cream cheese frosting
What?! Frosting and Pumpkin Bread?! I been eyeballing that pumpkin bread but had no idea about the frosting. Good looking out. Looks really delicious BTW I can't wait to mix this up.
How "Bready" is the pumpkin bread?
sorry for the three late response. pumpkin bread is quite bready, almost has like a rye bread flavor without being nasty. honestly if it didn't have the pumpkin it would be much more versatile.
