I have been trying to make the perfect powdered sugar doughnut for a little while now. After getting my sugar coating down, I came back to the community for help with the base. I checked out this Recipe: https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/11394#the_glazed_doughnut_by_brinnutz_revised_by_id10_t and the original: https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/11376#the_glazed_doughnut_by_brinnutz_by_brinnutz
Then, I stared at my wall of flavors and started thinking of how I would spin this, make it my own, and make it exactly how I wanted it. Now that I feel that this recipe is pretty close to what I was going for, I wanted to give back to the community for all the help you have given me. I have been mixing for 3+ years, but just got into this community and I love it because I can bounce my ideas off people who do the same and we can build off of each other and grow as a community.
The Recipe:
FA Almond .5%
TPA Bavarian Cream 2%
INW Biscuit 2%
FW Madagascar Vanilla 1%
CAP Sugar Cookie 2%
FW Yellow Cake 1.5%
FA Meringue 1.5%
TPA Frosted Donut 5%
LA Cream Cheese Icing 1%
The Powdered Sugar:
I used Meringue, Frosted Donut, Madagascar Vanilla, and Cream Cheese Icing to make the powdered sugar on top of the doughnut. All of these flavors produce a 'sugar feel' in your mouth. I added the Madagascar Vanilla in to round out all of the sugar and give it a little more than just sugar, while still keeping it quite sweet.
The Doughnut:
This was the hardest thing to create for me because I wanted the specific Hostess Doughnut taste instead of a bakery fresh doughnut. That is why I used Yellow Cake. If you do not vape yellow cake, feel free to bump up the CAP Sugar Cookie to balance everything out. I used Yellow Cake and CAP Sugar Cookie together to make a spongy, warm, sweet, cakey, base. Almond and Bavarian Cream help to round that out and give it more body and biscuit just adds a hint of crunch.
Mix it up, Vape, and Enjoy!
Looks awesome. I found that TFA Frosted Donut reminded me a lot more of a powdered sugar donut than a frosted one. I also thought it was lacking a bit in overall depth, which it seems you've done a great job of creating that. Missing the FW Madagascar, but will probably add this to my mixing queue and sub TFA Vanilla Bourbon.
I'm mixing this up tonight! Looks good. I love me a donut recipe. Lol I actually had a revision of a strawberry glazed cruller that looked very similar to this with the addition of some strawberry stuffs. I'll let you know what I think of it! Thanks for sharing.
Edit: I might even make a second batch with some blueberry in it.. Add some blueberry wild or try some blueberry muffin instead of sugar cookie.. I'm excited!
Yass! I want to add some fruits to this too and see how that goes. I want to try some orange
CAP sugar cookie, v1 or v2?
I use V1 but it is your choice.
I need this in my life. Have to switch a few concentrates to make it, but lately I can't stop eating those little white powdered bastards you find at gas stations.
