So, coincidentally I have been working on a mint chocolate chip recipe for about a month or two. I finally got it to a place where I feel comfortable sharing it. I am pretty proud of this mix. It has a great minty flavor and I think the balance of the creams, mint and chocolate is pretty well done and authentic tasting. Eat your heart out Wayne. (jk, love you man)
INW Chocolate Cream - 1.5%
FLV Crème De Menthe - 2%
FW Hazlenut - 1%
RF Shamrock Shake - 3%
TPA Sweet Cream - 2%
TPA Sweetener - 1%
TPA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - 4%
TPA Vanilla Swirl - 2%
Ice Cream Layer - I used a combination of vbic, sweet cream and vanilla swirl to make the ice cream. I used hazelnut to turn the ice cream into a bit of a malty ness to separate it from being ice cream to being more of a milk shake. I really like the vanilla swirl in this mix to sort of give something for the mint to sit on.
Mint - Here I used a combo of shamrock shake by real flavors and flv crème de menthe. I love crème de menthe (in fact I used it as a sub in Wayne's Cuprian) but I think it needed just a little help to give it some more dimension. Shamrock shake has a bit of punch that I think this profile needed.
Chocolate Chips - Inw chocolate cream has been said is a sister to Inw Milk chocolate. I used this flavor initially because I hadn't even heard of Inw Milk chocolate as this has been in development before the other aforementioned famous recipe with chocolate was released. However, as time went on and I procured Inw milk chocolate and tried a lot of other chocolates, I chose to stick with the chocolate cream because it is a bit of a softer, milkier, dare I say creamier, version of milk chocolate. (sort of like if you put chocolate chips in a blender with the ice cream to make a milkshake)
For those of you that don't like sweetener, I am in the process of trying a small amount of tfa coconut extra in its place.
Edit: added the link to recipe on elr
looks awesome man. FLV creme de menthe is awesome, I will admit. I bit too icy for the recipe I was creating, but I can say that I get a super strong "nut" like flavor from Chocolate Cream which is why I didn't use that specific chocolate. Keep it up though!
Looks like a tasty recipe! shame I don't have RF, or have any means of getting RF here...
Looks interesting, Ill eventually give it a shot when I order the required flavorings! Missing FLV Creme De Menthe, INW Chocolate Cream, and RF Shamrock Shake.
Nice Notes!
When you say that RF Shamrock Shake has a bit of a punch that the profile needs, what kind of punch are we talking? Just trying to see if I could find a suitable substitution.
This looks really good. Just missing RF SS. Definitely saving for when I do pick it up.
Thanks for sharing!
you're welcome, I hope you try it out.
