Hello, I've been mixing for many many years now, and I wanted to share a flavor that I felt like was significant enough to justify creating a whole thread for.
As many of you guys have tried Rhodonite, I'm sure many of you guys still have one magical flavor - Raspberry (INAWERA). Surprisingly, this flavor has many elements of well rounded raspberry - the tart, sweetness, ripeness, and body.
Tart - Raspberry must have some type of tart, otherwise it's just another berry with no unique distinction.
Sweetness - Sweetness is achieved with the use of a bit of sweetener in this recipe. It's optional, but I feel like Inawera Raspberry is a bit on the dry side without it. Berries are suppose to be sweet, otherwise, we would forget about them.
Ripeness - Fortunately, the INA Raspberry has the right amount of "ripeness" to it. TFA's Sweet Raspberry to me taste a bit flat. It doesn't quite contain the bright raspberry properties to make a 3 dimensional flavor. TFA's Sweet Raspberry sits better as a third wheeler to Strawberry lovers.
And finally, the recipe -
Sugah Raspberry
-
Raspberry (INAWERA) 3%
-
TFA Sweetener .5% (optional but recommended)
Flavor Total - 3.5%
Mixed at 80/20 VG/PG.
Steep Time : >24 hours. This recipe doesn't call for much of a steep, but the Raspberry will be significantly stronger right out of the mixer. The steep will mellow out the sharpness and throat hit.
I love all the advance recipes as much as the next guy, but I tend to take breaks from the heavy custards and creams and crave something fruiter and lighter.
The flavor itself reminds me of a raspberry pancake with sugar on top, minus the pancakes. The raspberry has a very robust brightness that is often exploited through heavy creams and savory mixes, but sometimes simpler is better. Sweetener can be omitted completely or lowered, depending on your device and preference.
INW Raspberry is definitely dope. If I can offer an opinion on your post, I think it would have been better suited as a flavor review as your post focuses on a single flavor. The recipe could have been added at the end as an example of a simple recipe. Just my opinion. Except for the "pancake" part, I thought it was a good write-up.
Have you tried this with any kind of cream or kinda spice? I imagine the spice part would either be awesome or disturbingly bad
i have a simple raspberry cream recipe. It is my ADV.
5% Raspberry (CAP or TFA, I've used both)
3% Sweet Cream (TFA).
it works as a shake and vape, but a steep helps the cream flavor to develop.
edit: to clarify, i use TFA Raspberry Sweet, not their regular raspberry.
After reading the posts here for the last month or so I'm starting the think I'm the only person that likes TFA Raspberry.
I've gotta try this INW Raspberry. I've been in love with LA Raspberry (Clear/colorless) for years. Ever since the moment I tried Clutch Vapors' "TKO". I searched and searched, buying every Razz flavoring I could find, just to find "that flavor". TFA Sweet Raspberry is my 2nd in line.
