DIY Ry4

I've been making some NET, and have one that is fairly strong. I'm thinking about an ry4 of sorts with it. I have tfa vanilla swirl and caramel original. Do you all think those would be adequate caramel and vanilla for and ry4 creation? The NET is a smokey Scottish pipe tobacco blend btw.

Skip tfa caramel original, it contains corn syrup. Flavour Art's Caramel is ok, but it relies on what I can only assume is Maltol or Ethyl Maltol for it's sweetness. That isn't a bad thing though.

TFA Vanilla swirl is fine. Im trying to make a combo of INW garuda/INW Creme Brulee as well, since that is essentially vanilla/caramel itself.

You can try something like:

x% NET
1% TFA Van Swrl
0.5-1% FA caramel
1-2% TFA cheesecake Graham Crust (optional)

and go from there

I didnt downvote you fwiw, but this might be more adequate in the new mixers questions thread: unless you tell us what youve tried and what did/didn't work (for future reference). IDK but that might be whatup with the downvote, Im not saying any of this to be a dick.

Thanks for the info. I agree it may seem like a silly question, but I thought some folks might have some experience with this sort of "ry4 from scratch". I'm going to try it this evening with maybe just the vanilla swirl and see what happens. Thanks!

This may sounds painfully obvious but why not just add some RY4 to your NET? Maybe there's a reason you decided not to do this but it seems like a good first step.

The tobacco base I've got is super strong for one. The other is that I want a bit more exacting control over the final process.

I would still consider starting with some RY4 Double and then add CAP Caramel to back it up. Since RY4 is your end goal, just decrease if it's too much and then add top notes of caramel and or nuts to suit your palate. Either that or just start with the caramel and vanilla.

In regards to vanilla, Vanilla Swirl is serviceable and a good choice if you aren't planning on aging your mix for very long. Otherwise, I'd recommend Flavour Art's Vanilla Bourbon. It takes a bit longer for it to reach it's full potential but is IMO far superior.

Here's a link to what I came up with. Kind of just some random stuff that all smelled good together. I mixed up, and at least fresh, I like it. Squadron Leader is from Samuel Gawith. I'll include a link to it in case anyone is curious about it.

I would do this is stages. First add some INW Shisha Vanilla or INW Vanilla for Pipe. Then when you are happy with that, add some FA Caramel.
