Backstory
Fall is upon us. This time of the year is when my wife goes into frantic-chaos mode ensuring that every square foot of my house resembles the change in season. Pumpkins, Scarecrows, Wreaths, fake orange/red/brown leaf decorations, and place mats are just a few of the things that have been scattered about to ensure that I or and any living/breathing person who steps foot into our home KNOWS its Fall. Never mind that leaves are changing on the trees outside of the house, falling in my yard, and the temperature is dropping ... NO in OUR house, it is in full effect!
Not only the look of the of the house changes, but also the smells ... OH THE SMELLS ... Hand soaps, Candles, Wax Melts, and air fresheners are scattered about as well. The smells of Fall .... and this is where the inspiration came into play.
My Shameful Confession
I may or may not have been the person running around Bath and Body Works smelling every candle, every hand soap, every wax melt, and room spray looking for vape inspiration. Pies, Cakes, and Drinks galore.
Say what you want, these people can formulate some incredible festive flavor profiles that would translate into a delicious vape. This is the only acceptable reason a man should go into this store.
Disclaimer
No Candle, Wax Melt, Potpourri, Room Spray, Air Freshener, or Hand Soap was vaped, injested, injected, or harmed during the inspiration sequence
Ain't no shame in that.
I was at Target and some guy was telling his wife that he couldn’t help her pick out housewares because he has to “maintain MAN compliance”. Meanwhile I’m smelling all the scented candles and putting the good ones in my cart, not giving a fuck.
A real man isn't insecure about wanting his house to smell good, or being able to perform "womanly duties" such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, or buying scented candles or soap. Do what you want to do. Be yourself. Keep mixing!
Yeah man... No shame in my shameful confession. Honestly I have a whole new appreciation for the store. The kiddos enjoyed it too. However, I feel the need to go change my oil. lol
However, after the visit I came home and actually looked at their website... Each fragrance is actually described like a recipe... Top notes, mediums and base... It's actually pretty well thought out flavor profile descriptions. Good on them!
There's absolutely no shame. That shit smells ridiculous. Pumpkin pecan waffles candle is where it's at
That Pumpkin Cranberry Cider candle was off the charts. I am sure I'd vape that.
Ahh, inspiration. :)
+1 to that. Fall is hands down the best season. The heat leaves us, and there's nothing better than those light-jacket, cool nights. The smell of the wood-burning fireplaces around town, and the dried leaves. Then comes Halloween, and the holidays around the corner. Just the most awesome time of the year.
Yankee Candle is a pretty incredible company. Nobody does it better. Definitely could see being inspired by a ton of their scents.
ok ok.. I have to confess that I have been privately viewing shows I claim to despise... BAKERY COOKOFF SHOWS! I can't even eat that stuff on my diet, but it gives me inspiration for new recipes. ...you know the ones right? Cupcake wars and chit like that? I am so embarrassed! :)
Haha, not a bad confession there. Big fan of Chopped.
Nothing wrong with a man that wants his place to smell good... As long as he doesn't spend more time in the place than me. I'm curious to hear if you eventually have an inspiration. Fall is by far my favorite time of year. (even though where I live, it's still pretty much summer, weather wise)
So, what kinda inspiration did you get? Some sweet pie with leaves? Black cat pumpkin? That's all the fall stuff I know. Seriously, what do we make for fall?!
I'm hoping someone makes a good apple cider recipe due to inspiration so I can copy it....
