Honey Peach (JF) Issues
submitted about 9 years ago by EdibleMalfunction

To anyone who has used this flavor, have you been able to successfully use this with other flavors? On its own it's amazingly delicious, but anytime I try to pair it with creams, custards, etc. It takes on a very strange taste. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the Honey part of that flavor.

Please expand on this 'strangeness'. I have this and haven't cracked it yet, but I am willing to investigate.

It's almost like the taste of raw honey if you have ever had that. Which I normally like in actual food, but in juice it's kind of off-putting.

I can see a raw honey flavor messing with creams for sure. Looking forward to see what you are trying it with.

Off the top of my head I tried amaretto, Bavarian Cream and sweet cream. I also tried it with VBIC

I'll post the two recipes I used after work to see if it's any of the other flavors screwing with the profile

It got kinda weird when mixed with JF Bavarian & a few other creams for me, as well. It's the honey, though, it'll do that. Was using it at .5% in those mixes, I think.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. I mean, it's quite delicious on its own. I'm not too concerned anyways. Just can't use that Peach with anything else

What % are you using on it's own?

I've got that and haven't tried it yet.

I'm not at home, so I don't have the info, but iirc, I used it at .5% in mixes and could still tastes it well. I'd imagine using it higher than that in most mixes is too much. It does have an earthy taste on the peach side of it. It went well with a little jf honeydew and I believe kiwi.

I will drop it down. I'm sure I was using it around 3%. Thank you

Yeah, I did use it at .5%. This turned out pretty well...

Peachydewi

JF Honeydew 2%

JF Honey Peach .5%

FA Kiwi .5%

TFA Double Kiwi 2%

TFA Vanilla Swirl 2%

TFA Strawberry 1.5%

I aslo had tfa honeydew at .5 and flv watermelon at 1 for some moisture, but those can be left out.

That sounds really good. I will have to go back and try honey peach at .5. Also that JF Honeydew Melon is delicious as well

No problem. If I remember, I'll look up what I used and post the recipe when I get home.
