List of Peer Reviewed clone/original recipes?
submitted about 9 years ago by crumpetsinyofaceProud Sidebar Reader!

I've been looking around everywhere and while I have run across threads and links to websites, there doesn't seem to be a "complete" list of recipes with reviews fron fellow diyers. I apologize if I missed something in my search, but does anyone know where one can find such a thing?

I don't think I've really seen a compiled list of solid recipes. What I would suggest doing is looking back through all the monthly recipe threads and check out the winners if you're just looking for some good recipes. Otherwise, All The Flavors has a really good selection of recipes.

Wayne from DIYorDie has a video where he details some of the best recipes from 2015.

I think it's a good idea and would love to have one, but with so many mixers, so many recipes, so many flavors, such a variance on palate, it's hard to really compile a good list of community trusted recipes, though I do think it's doable. Same goes for cooking, there's not really a list of trusted recipes, you just find certain chef's whose style you like and look at some of their recipes, or do a search on a trusted site with rating systems.

Yeah I figured I would have to do that, I did see a bunch of monthly clone recipes. Thanks for the link to Wayne, I'll definitely be checking him out. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but most of those clone recipes are absolute shit. I (and probably you) could do better by guessing the flavors after reading the juice description off the manufacturers' website, and I've only been in this about a year.

The 2015 Best Recipes picks on this site seem hopelessly dated to me, especially percentage-wise, in the face of the mixes that are happening here, but... ^that ^doesn't ^mean ^I ^won't ^try ^a ^couple.

Well, if you have been around this sub for any amount of time, you would know that the popular opinion is that most "premium juices" are shit. So makes sense to me a site like that would have shit recipes, right? ;) All I did was answer OPs question as best I could.

You could have at least pointed him to the monthly recipe thread or the sidebar which contains hundreds of community approved recipes. I apologize again, but to me, that site ranks right up with ELR when it comes to phony/troll recipes. After trying a few things there, I deemed it as a mostly useless resource. At least ELR can suggest 10 decent pairings for your flavors.

There's an older post literally titled "solid list of Ejuice clones" or something.

There's also several compiled clone threads in the sidebar

For whatever my opinion is worth, LMN # by RuntDastardly and "My Strawberries and Cream" by CheebaSteeba are my constant ADVs and I'm a really picky jerk where juice is concerned.

This makes me happy for TWO reasons;

1.) You picked one of my recipes, so I feel honored.
2.) You picked one of my Can't-Live-Without recipes, which I mix up every mixing session! That makes me feel honored by default, because then I know my taste must be good! (I'm a picky bitch, too!)

If you haven't already, try /u/chrisdvr1's amazing Sugar Cookies & Cream (another mix-it-every-session-recipe for me!). It's a reliable mix that I can add flourishes to without destroying it. That shit's #1 on ATF for a reason.

0.50% FA Maple + 1% LA Cream Cheese Icing + 0.50% FA Meringue added reminds me of THESE, and 0.25% FLV Rich Cinnamon makes them all fall-ready and shit. Yes, of course I am going to combine the two.

I can't wait to try his Lemon Sugar Cookies & Cream! I'll be making that this Sunday, if not sooner.

Also, I cook for a vegan, though I am an omnivore myself, so your name already has some cachet with me. :-)

I know it isn't your recipe but what would you sub in for FLV Cream? I've heard it's a great flavor but I can't buy more flavors right now. If anything I'll probably just do FA Fresh Cream at the same percent I guess. I have trouble tasting strawberry so I'd like to try that recipe.

Sorry I'm only just now seeing this! Yeah, I think FA Cream is a decent sub at the same percentage... for now. You'll be glad to have FLV Cream in your arsenal in the future, so definitely tack it onto your wish list for future purchase.

Honestly, I have trouble with both flavors beyond 1%, and they're both eerily similar. I'm apparently hyper-sensitive to Butyric Acid.

In any case, FA Fresh Cream will do for now. Go for it! It'll still be absolutely delicious!
