CAP Vanilla Custard 4%
FW Fruit Rings 2.3%
CAP Lemon Meringue Pie 2%
TFA Sweetener(Sucralose) 1%
FW Hazelnut 1%
FA Meringue 1%
TFA Brown Sugar Extra 1.5%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 3%
FW Fruity Flakes 0.27%
70VG/30PG
16.07% Flavoring
*FW Fruity Flakes is one of those 'red flag' flavors due to the sugar content(like FW Yellow Cake). If this bothers you, omit it altogether and increase the Fruit Rings to 2.5% total.
*A note about sweeteners: So...my original recipe had Erythritol at 1% as its sweetener. And that was my ONLY sweetener. Only one problem...Teleos never used Erythritol, as it wasn't on the market when The Milk was released. But Sucralose was. You can substitute the TFA Sweetener with CAP Super Sweet. Just remember to cut the percentage in half, since Super Sweet is double strength.
Recipe Notes:
-
The Milk: I use CAPS VC in this recipe at 4%. It needs to be powerful like it is in the original, to compete with the cereal portion and assist in creating that 'leftover milk' quality. Anything less and it is quickly overcome by the other flavors. Added to this are the tried & true FA Meringue & FW Hazelnut. Together they create that 'cereal milk' quality as well as adding to the leftover "crumbs-at-the-bottom-of-the-bowl" feel. I found I needed something more here. My next choice could have either made or broken the recipe. I chose TFA Vanilla Swirl to assist me in building up the thickness of the milk. 3% is perfect here. And I was pleased that I chose correctly!! Also unexpected, the meringue in the CAPS LMP gave the FA Meringue a little boost without making it the slightest bit cheesey(as is usually the case with too much meringue)!!
-
The Cereal: I know some have stated that no pre-made cereal is worth a damn and for the 'best' cereal, one must start from scratch. In this particular case, I couldn't disagree more. Open a bottle of The Milk and tell me you don't immediately taste and smell FWs Fruit Rings and I'll sell you my Mustang! So....my choice here was simple. I use it at 2.3% because that seemed to be the perfect percentage to meld with the other flavors without taking over and without BEING taken over! A minority of vapers have said they get a "Lemon Pledge" flavor from The Milk. I was NOT one of those people. Though, I can imagine what they could have possibly meant. I found a solution to that issue and, to my surprise, my solution offered not one...but THREE benefits! I chose to add CAPS Lemon Meringue Pie here at 2%. The lemon in this particular flavor sort of cuts through the Fruit Rings lemon thereby imparting a nearly canned lemon pie filling flavor. This was a perfect addition! And that was the 2nd benefit from using this flavor. Next, although Teleos didn't use it because at the time it wasn't released, I added FW Fruity Flakes to add to the Pebbles 'feel'. Now...some have asked if they can omit this and to that i say "Yes! But, if you do you'll want to bump the Fruit Rings up to 2.5%"! Next up(and a much needed ingredient), Teleos has always said The Milk was based on a popular drink at the Momofuku Milk Bar in Manhattan. Thus, TFA Brown Sugar becomes an integral part of this recipe. I use it pretty high here(at least, for me) but that Brown Sugar has a lot of cereal to coat! Perfect! By the way...that 3rd benefit I mentioned from the Cap's LMP is that it adds a very slight graham quality I always imagined I tasted in the original, which further enhances the 'cereal' part.
-
The Sweetness: As I've said, Teleos is pretty well known for killing coils with their heavy-handedness in adding sucralose! The problem with cloning ANY Teleos juice is that you really have no choice BUT to add Sucralose. As ive said, at first i added 1% Erythritol. After that obviously didn't achieve The Milk's flavor, I added 2 drops of CAPS Super Sweet to the 30mL bottle. You can omit the Erythritol altogether if you want. But I felt it helped with the sweetness and made it possible to only add a LITTLE Sucralose for authenticity. Side by side to the original, the ONLY difference I taste is that the original is more sickening sweet. My clone has more cereal flavor freshly made. In 2 weeks, the milk should pop into a 'cereal milk' flavor. So...add that sucralose very gradually if you want more. It's best used at 1% to start.
Thank you to those who private messaged me here and that other place. Your kind & understanding words made me forget all the ridiculousness yesterday. I won't say anymore to feed into their drama. So...I hope you like my clone attempt. And I will repeat...THIS IS NOT A 1:1 recipe!! AP
Gah, missing Lemon Meringue.
you and me both.... got everything else though.
Me as well. FE Lemon carries that pledge flavor, but I'm not sure how it relates to CAP LMP. FE was used in jackster's original cereal killa clone that was great, so you could always start there.
I don't have brown sugar extra, but I have brown sugar. How could this be subbed?
