Weekly Recipe! - Waffle Ice Cream (incredibly simple, very tasty)
submitted about 9 years ago by SadPandaVapesMixologist

This weeks recipe is a simple one and was partly inspired by the most basic recipe ever...Mustard Milk.

Waffle Ice Cream:

1.5% Maple Syrup (TPA)
1% Sugar Cookie (CAP)
1% Sweetener (Sucralose) (TPA)
7% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA)
1.5% Waffle (FW)

Flavor total: 12% Remember to rate it at: http://tjek.nu/r/5MB9

Flavor breakdowns -

Waffle FW is very good. It's a little tricky like FA Honey or other very strong flavors. It can overpower and kill a recipe with 1 drop too much. 1.5% is strong at first in drippers but it dies out after a good steep.

VBIC - This flavor is amazing and buttery and really can be a base for endless recipes. We use 7% here because it really needs to add alot of texture to this recipe or it falls a little flat.

Sugar Cookie adds a slight bakery note without too much flavor at this %. Joy FA can be used here as well.

Maple Syrup TFA is the key to making this recipe complex tasting and unique. It goes perfect with the profie. This flavor is also tricky too. Don't go over 2% even if you like syrup flavors.

As always, sweetener is optional.

Thanks so much for checking out this weeks recipe. I know it's simple but give it a try!

<3 you all and until next week!

Nice recipe! I wish I didn't get the pepper taste from VBIC, otherwise I would mix this up.

I use Capella VBIC as I also get pepper from TFA. I'm not sure how similar it is, haven't gotten a reply from anyone I've asked who can compare them. But it's a good creamy vanilla without the heavy egginess of custard.

I used to sub caps vbic to avoid the pepper but now I prefer fw. I don't know how it compares to tfa but I get better results with fw

I'll pick that one up if it's devoid of the pepper I get from TFA. Can't hurt to have another choice.

I don't get any peppery taste from TFA but still prefer FW. It's a bit sweeter too.

I have used TFA VBIC for a while and just recently tested CAP VBIC. They are pretty close, but I think CAPs is slightly better. I am not one of those who notice pepper in TFAs offering.

Thank you! I've asked 4-5 people for a comparison and never heard back. So they're similar enough to be subbed you'd say?

I sub Vanilla Swirl for friends who get the peppery taste

I always hear that one. Sucks cuz VBIC is probably one of the best flavors around (to me).

As a vendor, wouldn't that be a big issue for you because you have to sell to large group of people (who may or may not have some reaction to VBIC). Just curious whether you guys just omit it from your OG recipes, or continue to use it.

It's not a reaction to VBIC, it's just a subjective taste. These people that taste pepper aren't allergic to it or anything.

We do use VBIC in a recipe.

This is very similar to some people claiming they can't taste strawberry flavorings. Nothing actually wrong with strawberry, it just hits certain pallates differently.

You have the same exact issue with any flavoring you choose. Some people will find it disgusting or having a strange taste...some people will think it's heaven in a bottle.

I cannot personally vape anything with orange flavorings because they just taste toxic and very harsh to me. But as we know, Orange flavorings aren't inherently toxic or bad.

I hope I clarified my meaning and answered your question!

Is the sweetener a must?

Never. Forgot to mention that. Will edit, Thanks!

Sounds like a great flavour! I just placed my first order for diy last night, and if it works out with the 2 recipes I chose I'll be giving this one a try in the future!

TFA maple and maple syrup are the same thing right?

by SadPandaVapesabout 9 years agoMixologist

I can't be 100% sure with that. I'd guess yes.

Damn, I'm a VBIC fan, and I love waffles, but all I have is TPA's Belgian Waffle. Is there any way for me to sub FW's with it?

2 points

by SadPandaVapesabout 9 years agoMixologist

No clue. Never tried Belgian.

If you have TPA Belgian Waffle, another vendor's ejuice you can check out is bird ejuice. Just search ABC waffle in the search bar.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestion!

I've never tried FW Waffle but Belgian Waffle has a strong maple syrup taste to me. It doesn't taste like a belgian waffle at all. I guess I'd try this recipe with 2.5-3% Belgian Waffle to begin (adjust if needed) and reduce or remove the maple syrup.

Yeah that's a good answer. Just curious whether weathers still approach TFA VBIC and use it as an ingredient when there are so many negative comments about it

When you posted its adapted from the zoochberry cream im confused is this a good base for strawberry and coconut the original poster have done ?

1 points

by SadPandaVapesabout 9 years agoMixologist

It's not based off of zoochberry. I am sorry but your question is very confusing.

Sorry for confusing but there is a link for "adapted from" and leads to zoochberry cream

Oh I just clicked adapt and made this. Nothing to actually do or inspired by zoochberry at all.

Would you say this is a good waffle base to add fruits to or would the recipe need adjusting first?

1 points

by SadPandaVapesover 8 years agoMixologist

A lot of fruits should fit quite nicely in this recipe. I would just cut the Maple Syrup with exotic fruits.

Yeah, I might cut the maple with some things but I think it would probably work well with most of them. One of my favorites is Holy Grail Elixir Blueberry Waffle which is waffle, syrup, and blueberry.

I was also thinking about doing a play on Gremlin's Brett's Breakfast Blend which is waffles with syrup and tobacco using Gold Ducat(INW) or maybe Hotel (HS)

If that goes well I might try a spiced apple tobacco waffle with Desert Ship (INW) maybe with pecans but I haven't found a really good dry pecan yet.

Ya exactly, it all depends on the fruit you add.

Adding dragonfruit? prolly gonna be gross :P
