just a personal comment...been DIYing for a month. Struggling, pretty normal. Really hard to get flavours to work well, especially zero nic. Got 15 flavors, inc some nice tfa creams, custards, and strawb melon etc by FlavourArt. Did an 80pc PG experiment tonight. wOwwww. What a revelation! That's where all the taste was hiding. Can now taste all the cookie and the creams, so much better. Is this just my personal taste thing or do people find this across the board? Fk clouds. I got enough clouds. I want taste.
When this whole vaping thing started, most Chinese and initial USA liquids were 60-80% PG. The advent of the dripper, and the drive for clouds drove e-liquids to higher VG.
I've never had trouble getting flavor from 70, or 80% VG mixes. You just have to add more flavoring. Naturally. High PG is great for higher Ohm, tighter airflow, mouth-to-lung style devices.
Damn 80pg...how bad was the throat hit?
enough to satisfy but definitely not harsh. omg just made a lemon cookie, THIS is how it's supposed to taste
Would have thought it would be super harsh. Also, what kind of device are you using it with? I would think that thin of a juice would be way too thun for sub ohm, rta's or rda's
I mix for a couple people with Evods, I find 100% PG in one of them at 0mg to be less harsh than 3mg 70% VG in a Subvod or eGo One.
I tend to add Flash to the 0mg user's mixes because he doesn't want to go back to nicotine and the throat hit of 100% PG on its own isn't sufficient with most flavours.
Adding PG nic to commercial 70% VG 0mg juices to make samples that'll work in their devices doesn't seem to dilute the flavour enough for them to complain, or buy sub ohm devices, so far.
Agreeing with /u/Critical_Vape 100%... Also, I'm curious what your setup is. Gear, ohms, watts, etc. I'd have to guess you're under 20 watts and over 1 ohm otherwise that mix would be borderline painful. Also, /u/vurve did a thread a while back about mixing for others. The part about their setup might touch what you're experiencing. Link
Afraid i have to disagree, i have poor taste generally, and with bakeries and creams, i really struggle to taste the subtleties or even what the eliquid is supposed to taste like. This is with my crown, crown 2, kayfun v5, and griffin, all at sub ohms, regardless of coil, airflow or whatever. I mean i have had some builds, especially with the kayfun where iv tasted things i havnt before, like with funfetti, but even then its not nearly what it should be at like with pg.
High PG in my experience, is bad for the cotton. I'd usually get dry hits.
That.. doesn't make sense. VG is much thicker than PG, so the wick would have a harder time keeping up.
Try it yourself. When the wick becomes too saturated it will resist becoming evenly moist. You burn the outer layer in contact with the resistance while it's clearly wet inside.
I even tried a slightly higher PG such as 55%, and it was enough to get the sizzling of the coils.
Cool story bro. But I think you're mistaking DIY_ejuice for your own personal diary.
