Didnt write this review but it captures my feelings of the flavour pretty well. Nom bongo is definitely the best fruity recipe i have ever tried, and probably the best eliquid iv ever tried by a long shot! Its got an inherant smoothness to it, and so much flavour that i didnt think even possible to fit in one eliquid without ruining it. I have mixed up over 125 recipes with my collection of over 200 concentrates, and tried maybe 50 different 'premium' eliquids and only the very best, like pistachio ry4 or rhodonite by DIYORDIE come close. I really dont understand how this flavour isnt more well known, maybe because its a one shot.

(Other reviews to testify how good it is)
Anyways im going to attempt to clone it, and will be reporting back but heres my first try.
5% tpa papaya 5% tpa juicy peach 5% FLV mango 2% marshmallow 1% ethyl maltol
Papaya - i could tell immediately from smelling this bottle that this is the papaya they use, and vaping it only confirmed this. At 5% it is at a good level, however it is more prominent than in the original. Considering how flavour heavy the original is however, i think this is because the mango and maybe the peach are not high enough, so in later versions i will keep the papaya at 5% and raise the other flavours.
Juicy peach - in the original the peach was barely noticeable, and i felt it was just there to compliment the mango and papaya. Im pretty sure juicy peach is the one that they used in the original, but i cant be sure. Im going to try this with a bit of FA peach to see if more peach or a different peach is needed. Its possible iv got the percentages right or nearly right with the peach and papaya but i cant be sure until i change the mango.
FLV mango - after alot of research it seemed like FLV mango was the best tasting mango out there, but i dont know if its the mango im looking for, and its so hard to tell with the original because the flavours blend together so perfectly. I have a hunch that they only use tpa flavours, so im guessing that the mango they use is tpa phillipino mango, or a combination of that and their normal mango. Next il try the phillipine mango at 10%. Definitely will need help with the mango flavour.
Marshmallow - the original had a smooth, almost creamy character, and its possible that that came from the nature of the fruits they used, but it could have also been from some marshmallow, anyways i thought it wouldnt hurt.
Ethyl maltol - the original was fairly sweet, but not sickeningly so, anyways at 1% the sweetness was not even close to the original, so next im going to try sucralose at 3% to see how that compares. One of the reasons i wanted to clone this juice was so that it could give people the option of vaping it without gunking up their coils with sweetener (which i never experienced although i know it did more damage than other juices just because of how sweet it was).
Anyways this is my first clone attempt and i have a few questions for the more experienced.
Is it likely that the flavours were mixed at 5% each or adding up to 15%? As the recommended mixing percentage was 15%, dont know if that means anything.
Are all the ingredients likely to be from the same company? I.e all tpa?
Looking for help and criticisms on this clone and to spread the word about nom bongo.
And the first attempt was actually pretty good, if anyone wants to try it. Definitely bears a resemblance to the original, but it isnt quite there yet.
Never even heard of that juice so I can't comment on that part, but....TPA Papaya at 5% is batshit crazy in my opinion. Have you smelled that concentrate? It fills an entire room with perfumeness as soon as you open the cap. And it lingers. Like all day. I would never go above 1% for a supporting flavor in a recipe, and no more than 2% for the main flavor.
Although there is quite a few recipes that have it at 5%, like this one, http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/127149/Mikes%20Melons%20%28Cuttwood%20Monster%20Melon%20Clone%29
I agree with /u/EdibleMalfunction. 5% TFA Papaya is a TON of Papaya, no matter what you found on ER. If the juice tastes that good, I seriously doubt there's more than 2% TFA Papaya in there.
Update : my first attempt was much closer to the original, with this one the mango was obviously the wrong, and i got alot of earthiness from i think the papaya that im guessing FLV mango masked in the first attempt. My next guess for what mango they use is FA mango, due to its inherant sweetness. Will drop the papaya down to 2% next time, anyways here was my second attempt.
3% papaya 5% peach juicy 7% phillipine mango 2.5% sweetener 1% marshmallow tpa
Update :
So for a while iv thought that hangsen mango might be the one, because i saw reviews of it saying it had a smooth creaminess to it, which nom bongo definitely does. Tried it in v3 and it was spot on! Im definitely getting closer, and i think iv got the right flavours, or at least close enough. Next i just need to get these balanced, and also find out how i can get the end product as flavoursome as the original, which it is not as of yet despite the above average percentages.
V3 5% Peach juicy 4% papaya 4% HS mango 1.5% marshmallow
So this one had way too much mango in it, but the flavours were starting to work with eachother in the way they do in the original. Just need to balance it now, and find out a way too boost flavour, so will try both increasing and decreasing the %s. Also for anyone that is thinking of mixing these, go with my first one, v2 and v3 were just to find the right flavours and the first actually turned out the best.
