Recommend Diy tobacco e juice recipes For all the tobacco lovers out there I've noticed there isn't much out there so let's begin!
submitted about 9 years ago by Rundonkey

It doesn't have to be just pure recipes I just thought it would be good to add a tobacco type thread to the ever growing diy world!

It could be flavor add one,the way flavors taste, anything at all abouttobacco type stuff. Have fun!!

My ADV here. It's as close as I've gotten to an analog cig or light cigar. Only for people who really want that no nonsense, "holy shit this almost tastes real" type shit. I repeat, this is not sweet like a RY4 Pistachio blend or your run of the mill B&M tobacco line.

Flavor Notes: Red Burley is the base and it's hands down the best tobacco flav I've got my grubby little hands on so far. Search for my review here or on ELR to know more. Western is used to boost the leathery taste, modify to your preferences. And Dirty Neutral base is another must for hardcore tobac people. It adds ash. Drop it down to 0.5% if you're shy, or leave it where it is if you got balls of steel. Also, you don't necessarily have to steep long, 5 days will get you in the ball park, 2 weeks is of course ideal though.

Importante: I'm in the process of experimenting with adding TAs to this mix. INW Cuban TA was my first attempt (2.5%).. pretty decent, let it steep tho, 2 weeks would be good. Next will be INW Virginia TA and or maybe a lil Garuda for good measure.

If you want that real tobacco, giver a try and hit me back with your impressions.

Looks decent. I haven't had the chance to try any flavorah yet. The TFA western has been on my order list.

The good thing is, even if you order the flavs for my recipe and don't like it, you'll find plenty of uses for them that will suit your palate. I wouldn't recommend any of these to someone who strictly vapes fruity recipes or anything, but for tobacco heads, these flavs are all good staples.

Here are my recent single flavour testing notes. Gonna have to order a few more thanks to the recipes here.

I did a single flavour mix of 16 different tobaccos recently. Here are my brief notes:

  • "Cubano Type-TFA (Size: 10ml)" Light cigar type tobacco
  • "Cured Tobacco-FLV (Size: 15ml Original Packaging)" Heavy cigar type tobacco, tastes like a Cuban
  • "RY4 Double-TFA (Size: 10ml)" Heavy caramel, light tobacco backnotes.
  • "Black Fire-FA (Size: 10ml)" Tastes like a campfire, but smooth, woodsy. Use in low amounts as a backnote.
  • "Black Label (Dijarum)-HS (Size: 10ml Original Packaging)" Heavy clove, light tobacco backnote. Compable to clove cigarettes.
  • "Burley-FA (Size: 10ml)" Sweet tobacco.
  • "Captain Jack For Pipe-INW
  • (Size: 10ml)" Rich sweet cigarette tobacco
  • "Churchill-HS (Size: 10ml Original Packaging)" Medium tobacco, somewhat cigar like.
  • "Dark Vapure-FA (Size: 10ml)" Sweet light-cigar like tobacco.
  • "Desert Ship Blend-FA (Size: 10ml)" Sweet flavour with a hint of tobacco, vanilla notes on the exhale.
  • "Perique Black-FA (Size: 10ml)" Sweet dry tobacco flavour, slight clove backnote.
  • "RY1-HS (Size: 10ml Original Packaging)" Light sweet cigar / cigarette tobacco. Grain / cereal exhale.
  • "Turkish-TFA (Size: 10ml)" Sweet dark tobacco.
  • "Western-TFA (Size: 10ml)" Sweet cigarette tobacco, just like raw cigarette tobacco.
  • Cappuccino Tobacco by Inawera 10ml Sweet coffee with light tobacco note.
  • Ry4 Tobacco by FlavourArt Smooth light tobacco taste with caramel flavour

Is INW Cappuccino Tobacco the same as INW Coffee Paradise?

No idea. Check the mixing sites?

basically the same yes

I didn't get sweet off of FA burley at all. I got some cedar notes out of it. Capt Jack for pipe looks interesting.

Not a tobacco expert by any means but resurrected my Kayfun the other day and thought I should try and do something with the TFA tobaccos I had on hand.

I used the template from this post by /u/QMaker.

Don't know why I'm posting this as it's not amazing, probably needs further development, doesn't really taste anything like a cigarette, or tobacco, but it's vapable. So please don't buy concentrates especially for this and cry when it's shit haha.

12mg and 50PG/50VG

2.0% TFA Dulce de Leche

1.0% TFA DK Tobacco

0.5% Acetyl Pyrazine

2 drops/10mL TFA Western

2 drops/10mL TFA Smooth

Drops are from the smaller "needle" size plastic tipped bottles. If you've got the larger plastic tips go for one drop/10mL.

I shake and vaped this one. It was actually pretty good from the get-go. My Kayfun then shat itself so I'm waiting for my mini V3 clone to arrive before I can taste it steeped.

From my limited experience I think higher PG is kind of important with tobacco, the VG sweetness and thick mouthfeel doesn't work well with the tobacco. Also, higher nicotine than what you'd normally use seems to help as well.

Dulce de Leche works as half the base, it adds a sweetness and body that's not overbearing. I find it has some light chocolate type notes that mesh well with the grassy/hay/earthy from the western. DK Tobacco is the other half of the base, it's astringent and almost ashy/acrid. AP and smooth? Really just threw those in there cause that's what QMaker said to do. I'm guessing they just help round everything out.

Anyway, long winded post for a probably shitty recipe. But if anyone has the balls to try it, let me know what you think. My experience with commercial tobacco ejuice is basically nonexistent so I don't even know what a tobacco juice should taste like.

by Rundonkeyabout 9 years ago

You should try vanilla for pipe by inawera :)

2 points

by T_Maceabout 9 years agoTobacconist

> I think higher PG is kind of important

I go 50/50 with most of my tobaccos but that might be a bit much for some. It does really help the flavors pop tho and if you're MTLing in a Kayfun or similar works great. Also cuts steep time a bit. 60/40 VG-PG works too.

Would try your recipe but missing most of the flavs sadly.

3 points

by BuryMeInSmokeabout 9 years ago

Besides the sweetness and mouthfeel side of things I think I prefer tobaccos in a MTL setup with high PG and high nic because the flavour in any other setup would be too intense otherwise. Maybe I'm using a setup/ratio like that to make up for a bad recipe? Haha.

I really want to like tobaccos because I get a bit sick of everything I vape being so sweet. At the same time I don't want to invest a lot in flavourings in case it's not something I'm in to. I'm outside the US as well so it would be pricey for me to buy a selection of commercial juice that I may not like.

by T_Maceabout 9 years agoTobacconist

To be clear, in my previous comment, I was agreeing with you :) Kayfun is great for tobaccos. I do 50% PG 50% VG when I do tobacco mixes.

As for getting into tobaccos, there's lots of flavors you could buy that are not super strong and would be a low risk investment because you can use them in a bunch of different ways. RY4 Double by TPA is a good start if you don't have it already. It doesn't have much of a tobacco taste, more caramel with maybe a hint of tobacco in the background. Maybe some others can chime in and suggest a few more. I actually prefer fairly hardcore tobaccos that most people might find too strong so I'm afraid to recommend something you won't like lol.

by QMakerabout 9 years ago

Wow, this is an old recipe.

It started as mire of a dulce de leche/western recipe. A friend of mine really like the creamy tobacco thing.

With this one i added the dk tobacco for a more earthy dry flavor and reduced the western. Western is pretty strong, so two drops is definitely noticeable.

I always added some smooth to my tobacco flavors back then, i still do for the most part, but its not critical. I have stopped using acetyl pyrazine pretty much completely. It was all the rage for tobacco flavors back about four years ago, but fuck if that Fritos flavor doesn't come through after some steeping. Every, Damn. Time.

It's late now, but I've done some more work with tobacco flavors. Maybe i can post some newer stuff.

1 points

by BuryMeInSmokeabout 9 years ago

Nice, thanks for the update. That post you made was one of the few I could find with good info on TFA tobaccos.

Yeah, would love to see any newer stuff you've got if you get a chance to post it.

1 points

by T_Maceabout 9 years agoTobacconist

Would you know if TFA Smooth is similar to MTS Vape Wizard? Descriptions sound the same but I've only tried MTS version.

>Maybe i can post some newer stuff.

Please do! Nice to see some tobacco talk resurfacing.

How does dulcee de leche taste

1 points

by BuryMeInSmokeabout 9 years ago

Kind of a sweet, creamy, light caramel. There's some chocolate notes there too, but more along the lines of TFA Double Choc Clear rather than real chocolate - if that makes sense.

Inawera vanilla for pipe: sweet, rich, complex tobacco, subtle notes of vanilla. 3% standalone is great.

Inawera 555: nutty, woody, dry type of tobacco that pairs well with em.

TFA ry4 double: sweet,caramel,vanilla,cream,hints of tobacco,very much a dessert type tobacco 8/10

Flavourart 7 leaves: very complex, sweet, hints of spice, tastes like a how a pack of cigs smells, not an adv for me but is very strong

TFA black honey tobacco: I do not like this flavor at all..It kind of taste like perfume mixed with grapes.

Flavourart burley: dry, strong tobacco notes, cedar notes mixes well with other tobacco..

Flavourart desert ship: really good tobacco, taste kind of like Hansen desert ship but this one has more of a lemon taste at higher percentage. Grassy, sweet, full bodied.

Inawera S'desert ship: taste like AP and I hate AP.

Inawera little space drop: tastes like walnuts, very potent, mixes well with creams

Inawera dirty neutral base: this isa must have flavor for any tobacco head looking for that ashy tobacco punch that some flavors lack. 10/10

Inawera Cuba cigar : taste like soap and rubber..0/10

Inawera tobacco symphony: taste like peanut butter with hints of tobacco on exhale.

Inawera Virginia: very odd flavor that some may love or hate I don't like it.

Inawera gold ducat: this flavor is amazing...It taste like how a rich pipe tobacco should taste without any unpleasant after taste. Very good standalone at 3%

2 points

by T_Maceabout 9 years agoTobacconist

Fuuuuuuck, you just grew my shopping list. I had forgot that I need Gold Ducat.

INW Cuban Cigar and Virginia.. are you referring to the Tobacco Absolute versions or the plain ones? Virginia plain taste like rosewater and honey to me.. shitty. But the TA is different.

Seems we have similar tastes. I'm not a fan of AP much either and I fucking hate Black Honey. Got Desert Ship FA and 7 Leaves steeping in single flavor mode as we speak. Based on your notes, I am now excited.

Ps. Not stalking you I swear. Just stalking this entire thread in general. I live here now, don't mind the dishes in the sink and the dead body in the bathtub. All part of the decor.

3 points

by Rundonkeyabout 9 years ago

Yea the Virginia and Cuban cigar are nasty. Not the ta versions.

2 points

by Rundonkeyabout 9 years ago

Bahahahahaha no worries about stalking bruh. Yea the gold ducat is in a league of its own imo. It's one of those flavors that just hit every spot like a premium juice would. Keep the percent low though..I've noticed from 3-6 % the change isn't very noticeable.

Also on the desert ship and 7 leaves I prefer shake and vape on those but they do get a little more complex and subtle notes start shining through more after a week.

Be careful with the Flavourart desert ship..Keep the percent around 3% to avoid the lemon zest taste

2 points

by T_Maceabout 9 years agoTobacconist

Wow, perfect timing on 7 Leaves, it's been exactly 7 days steep. Tasting notes inbound!

>Gold Ducat

I said to myself that I should not buy more flavors until I have tasted and written notes on all the ones I already have. But I would never listen to a madman who talks to himself so Gold is in my near future.

*"English style pipe"

2.5% latakia (any brand)

1% dark vapure (tfa)

1% dk (tfa)

0.5% english tobacco flavoring (seedmans)

You can sub tobacco absolute for the seedmans english for a smokier take

Its a pretty mellow ADV , so coming from a fruit or candy heavy rotation this makes a good bridge

To be fair, that thread is archived. OP said he wants to discuss tobaccy recipes as well as single flavors. I for one, would be happy to have a little corner of /r/DIY_eJuice where us tobacco heads can hang.

3 points

by surfishermanabout 9 years ago

I have no issue with that . I was just pointing him to a thread with tips & tasting notes already available.

1 points

Misunderstood, thought your were saying OP was too lazy to use the search. My bad :)

3 points

Agreed. I only vape tobacco flavors, and I am currently experimenting with DIY tobacco flavors as well. I actually purchased Red Burley because of your ADV recipe. I'm working on my own ADV now.

Oh nice. Did you end up trying my recipe? Interested in some honest feedback. At the very least, hope your liked Red Burley :)

This could be a thread for tobacco recipes.

3 points

by surfishermanabout 9 years ago

Sure , lets see who is interested.

3 points

Well its going to be hard to find people genuinely interested in the thread seeing as most hate tobacco.

by thedirtyprojectorabout 9 years agoMixologist

So how exactly is this different from asking for free recipes? Which is essentially what you're doing.

2 points

It's more of a place to share tobacco Ideas and hopefully gain some attention that the diy tobacco flavored e juice needs.

-3 points

by thedirtyprojectorabout 9 years agoMixologist

Second this, OP couldn't be fucked to search. There are a shit ton of bacco threads. If you're resourceful enough, you would know where to look.

I really like space Jam's Eclipse. Here is the last recipe, I think it was pretty close. TFA Western 7% TFA Graham Cracker 5% CAP Hazelnut 1% CAP Amaretto 1% TFA Vanilla Swirl 1.5% TFA Marshmallow 3%

I have to say that I did let this sit for around 2 months before picking it up again, but when I did, it definitely struck me as being reeeeaallly close to Eclipse. Try it, let me know. I think the Cavendish is really just a bunch of BS that Space Jam put out there, TFA Western plus the hazelnut and amaretto seems like that's what it is to me. Anyways, good luck!

1 points

Hazelnut and Amaretto sound like they would go great with tobacco. Will have to pick some up.

Hangsen tobaccos are great single flavor shake and vapes. I mix for my wife and brother. I've settled on RY1 and turkish blend. I mix 180mls at a time..

They don't gunk up coils at 5%.

I'd be interested in hearing about other not too sweet non gunky shake and vape tobaccos.

1 points

by Rundonkeyabout 9 years ago

I've been meaning to try the Turkish.

by The_Choir_Invisibleabout 9 years ago

After you get a chance to sample it, please throw an entry in the JuiceDB! I vaped that stuff a few months ago and did not enjoy the experience. But it was also vaping 50/50 on a Halo Triton/Kanger T2 tank on an Ego battery with 2.2ohm coils. So....

2 points

by T_Maceabout 9 years agoTobacconist

Now a nice relaxing dessert vape. Click here. Fuck with this! It's not too sweet but just enough to sit in the dessert category and chill.

Special thanks to /u/Enyawreklaw cuz it's his damn recipe. Wayne says it's like a cig but I don't really find that at all. But either way, it's downright delightful. Also keep in mind I don't like sweet stuff much so this is about as sweet as I go.

Importante:

Sometimes I sub the FA Almond for CAP Toasted Almond and it's the shit. Adds a hint of what tastes to me like a buttery coconut. Try it, or go with the original.

Am4a is a flavor you gotta try if you love tobaccos. I find it's kinda like RY4's cousin who drives a sports car with the top down. Don't expect any kinda of leafy "true" tobacco out of it, but never the less, well worth the pick up

2 points

by bigtidderabout 9 years ago

I don't have a complex recipe but here is my easy Shake N Vape ADV Tobacco: 2% SC Koolz, 2mg nic, max VG. Tastes great fresh mixed and has the perfect cool tobacco smoothness. Fairly cold with minimal menthol taste. Medium sweet cold exhale.

1 points

by T_Maceabout 9 years agoTobacconist

> Shake N Vape

FLV Cured Tobacco is another one that's good pretty much right off the bat. Not a menthol tho. Also might need a few other flavors to really hit it home but in a pinch, if you're waiting on other mixes to steep, FLV Cured comes in handy.

/u/asciirider saw you mentioned shake n vapes too.

Yeah I gotta get that stuff, it sounds amazing. I got Inawera DNB today but I don't have either of the other tobaccos in your recipe yet. Can't wait to try it though!

Yeh ,things are not very obvious on that site.

This is the link that goes to 5ml testers: https://larbrook.co.uk/index.php?id_category=39&controller=category

or try hover your mouse over 'VAPE LIQUIDS' on the top left

and you should see more options pop up ,then u can choose 5ml testers on the drop-down list.

CHECK THE STRENGTHS BEFORE ORDERING so u get the nicotine strength you prefer.

Any ideas for Manabush pow pow recipes ?

I've only found 2 or 3 ,i think they're the same that everyone finds after Googling :)

I've tried mixing some maple ,calipitter chow ,coconut ,vanilla in various ways but while some are ok none really get anywhere near Pow Pow.

I even bought some King Arthurs Pipe and Sweet Mississippi Leaf

thinking they might help, boy are they strong smelling.

You can PM me if it's a secret :P

I have no idea and have never heard of that e juice. I had to look it up. From the description I would say it has vanilla swirl in it and ry4 double for sure...maybe they have an in house blend of nets as well.

1 points

by doomcake3almost 9 years ago

yeah possibly ,i just received some flavour concentrates today from L&T.

RY4 Toffee Nut

Maple Syrup

Gold Ducat

Caramel Custard

The first 3 do have some similarities but the caramel custard tastes like puke ,literally .

Anyway ,you've never heard of Manabush Pow Pow Sauce !!?

I bought the 3 for £10 pack from Manabush ,i chose these 3 flavours:

Powwow Sauce .Nokomis and IxCaCao .

They have a few others as well ,amazing e-juice ,some of the best you can buy .

Just a bit too expensive for me sadly.

A common question you'll see on a lot of the e-liquid forums is asking for a recipe for some of the Manabush range of e-juice.
