Just recently made it. 5 days after and vaping now. Really overwhelming. I'm honestly not sure if I added too much of the concentrate or if it's just supposed to be this strong/perfumey. Mostly just tastes like very strong raspberry. Not getting much else.
Anyone else had a similar experience with it?
Did you mix the recipe or the concentrate? If it's the recipe, you used too much raspberry. If the concentrate, you used too much concentrate. Either way, add like 20% extra VG and it should balance out.(if you have a 30mL bottle, just empty 6 mL and refill with VG.)
I could've sworn I added just the right amount and shook the concentrate bottle very well prior but maybe I didn't. I mixed 50ml. Looks like i'll dump 10ml out and pour some VG.
On a side note, what steeping time has been optimal for you w/ this recipe?
Don't dump it out. Pour it into another smaller (10-15mL) bottle and add like 10% VG to it or something. I'm sure this taste you're getting could easily be solved by steeping though so I would keep some of the original mix aside for later.
I've made the rhondite recipe a few times.. It usually took about two weeks for the overwhelming raspberry taste to go down a bit. Nowadays I use lemon meringue pie instead of raspberry and it makes the recipe amazing.
Recipe advises one week for Steep time I have always found the flavor continues to Blossom all the way up to 2 months, but honestly love this as a shake and vape I've never tried to concentrate, having a premix of flavors light speed up steeping time a bit my advice would be to give it a week before doing anything.
I don't know if they change the recipe for the concentrate line but I mix it at 9.3%
INW raspberry at 0.5% will overtake recipes.
Take it down to 0.3 maybe or use a different raspberry altogether. INW rasp is good but man does it rule a recipe.
As already pointed out rhodonite only gets better with time, 5 days is nothing, my last batch is 45 days old and absolutely fantastic. I would say it needs at least 3 weeks to reach its full potential.
It's actually really weak for me if I copy the recipe exactly. On any device with any amount of steeping. I like to mix it as a one shot then use it at 12℅. Flavour is amazing. Edit: I get all the notes described but a friend of mine only tastes a light cream and nothing else. Wayne's recipes are good at proving taste is personal.
By one shot, do you mean dumping in all ingredients at specified percentages in for example a 30 ml bottle and have it as a "base" or whatever people here call it?
I think the original recipe is just under 10% total flavoring. So you're not bumping it TOO much. I tend to agree with you, a slight increase might be in the cards for me to.
9.3%.
10% to 12% makes a world of difference for me. truly is amazing at 12%.
I usually try to let it steep for 10-15 days before I vape it. I don't get much raspberry taste before that, but the throat hit of INW raspberry is too strong before that and it empowers everything else. It becomes delicious after that tho. :)
In my experience it's best to make a batch of concentrate, then make the juice from that. The larger percentages allows you to get better accuracy at a smaller scale. It's really easy to overdo the raspberry in a 30mL or smaller because a drop REALLY makes a difference. That shit is strong. Make yourself a 15 or 30 mL of concentrate, then make juice out of that.
Source: Rhodonite has been in my daily rotation for like 2 months now.
Really interesting to hear. I mix my own Rhodonite, was even vaping it on my way to work today. It's fairly mellow. Something like Bronuts is by far stronger and I still tone my recipe down a bit. I was looking into his concentrates and want to try them out. I'll be careful when I do.
bronuts is stronger? seriously? i was actually looking into purchasing the ingredients. didn't even think one bit that it may be strong. all i can think of is a smooth dense type of vape which is why i really want to try it
At the very least I bring the INW Biscuit down from .75% to .5%. I know it doesn't sound like much but that stuff is pretty powerful and was just overwhelming for me even after 2 weeks. I've also mixed the Boston Cream Bronut variant, dropping CAP CGD from 7% to 5%, and adding 2% CAP Bavarian Cream. This version is a little less intense and vapable all day.
